  1. Cheering for Shield is like Cheerleading for the Quarterback, who lettered in a few other sports, is taking all AP classes and is a Mensa-Spanking Genius, whose parents are Waltons and who is dating a member of the Royal Family. Sure, its great, but... HA! Also, while a great combo with lots of tele-smashing goodness, I wouldn't necessarily say it feels TANKERY. But that's all subjective, right?
  2. Malignancy implies ill will. If they were apathetic towards EM woes, that's not ill will. It's just not caring. But who knows, maybe they're hands were tied on it. In these situations, it's best to question judgement, not motive. Even better still, not to stew over past decisions. Especially when this current team has been pretty great about hearing the communities concerns. I think good, solid, number-based evidence for change is the best tool we have for seeing any changes to EM. I'm hoping a dev team member might drop in to comment on the chances for that happening, and if we can avoid letting this thread go the way of the Rage thread, we'll be doing a big favor for ourselves.
  3. Oh, stop you... *blushes* While I try not to be "angry" over changes that I'm not excited for (this is still a game, after all), this kind of information makes it difficult to not feel a bit miffed for EM. It's lack of strong AoE and the built in balance for its DPS in the form of self damage makes the changes to it animation time seem unsupported. At least by comparative logic. Well slow down, there. I'll say this much. Out of the box, in the lower levels, it performs very well. For that reason, I don't think any of it's early powers need adjustment. But I've noticed as I've leveled up that it quickly loses that performance to other sets. TF and ET no longer stand out at all and I see other melee sets surpassing EM very quickly after the early 20s. That's a bad place to start stalling out. I'd be interested in seeing how the set would perform if the animations were changed back.
  4. Thanks for that. Very insightful. +1, really. But can you tell me, is that KO Blow with rage on, or off?
  5. I’m all for this. I'd be open-minded to a change like this, but as long as you still lose health on a defeated enemy because your team killed them faster (because the animation time is so long, not because the foe was just that low on health), then you're still delivering a penalized whiff.
  6. HA! I'm gonna have to make a bind where my character can say that when I activate Energy Transfer. And hey, people would have time to read all of that while it animated. ಠ_ಠ One of the more frustrating problems with doing this to ET, is that as powerful as the attack *could* be, on a large team it's practically useless. I've rerolled the Ice/EM tank I made years ago just to see if maybe my memory was skewed in favor of what I liked before the changes. Seriously, a boss with a good chunk of health can defeated by my team mates before I land the punch. Oh, but hey, at least I still get my damage penalty! And what is ET meant to be, other than the attack you mainly use on big HP-packed foes? There's been dev commentary on having Rage changes on the table. I'd really like to know if Energy Melee tweaks could have a place at the table too.
  7. Full disclosure: Never played SR, but I'm currently considering making a SR/ Tanker. Having increased regen abilities would certainly make the set more appealing, but I could see stacking it on a Tanker being WAY too good. Either lower the number or leave that part unstackable. Some interesting ideas though. I like them, but some of the counter arguments might have a good point.
  8. You can always click and drag them to the order you'd like them to be in.
  9. So... you want to make Defense worse so that you can finally feel like using Elude is worth it? Gonna have to go with a hard pass on this one, chief.
  10. Thanks! Yeah, I'm thinking Consumption over Soul Transfer as well. Maybe finagling a way to have both Oppressive Gloom and Choking Cloud. Seems like it would be a great build for tough content. Who knows, I may just IO it as well over time. I've been enjoying my current IO build (not yet complete) quite a bit. Even 25% defense to positional types has quite a bit of survival. The fact that it could have two solidly fun builds is pretty cool.
  11. Ok, I lied. This build has IOs. Haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet. There's 44.4% S/L defense and 40% recharge bonus. Nothing too uber, since I wanted a somewhat affordable build. I'm sure it could be improved upon. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 12. First – It couldn't hurt to try it, so why not? Second – Someone more knowledgable might correct me, but I don't think end drain is a terribly reliant mitigation tool in game. Not unless you can debuff their recovery too. My experience with it has been that foes will always have just enough End (i.e. 1 pt) to keep attacks going for the most part. It could be my perception on the matter is flawed, though. That said, Lightning Rod is a hella-fun power!
  13. I'll post my Rad/Bio build when I can. With just SOs (haven't started IOing out yet).
  14. You mean the whole whopping two other people? The logic presented for not being in favor of your suggestion is no different than the logic you've presened to make the change. Hence my initial response stating that it's not good enough reasoning to make a change at all. Better still, it was well put that if we want to take a cap of to-hit chances, why not remove all the other arbitrary caps in the came? The defense soft cap? The resist hard cap? I mean, if we can buff our character to those levels, why not let us get them? It makes no more sense to be able to never miss than it does to never be hit. And the game allows you to roll over foes so easily, that being even more accurate wouldn't really bring anything to the table. You even said yourself that the rarity of missing is what makes it so glaringly annoying. Which showcases exactly how much of your suggestion is just to suit your very subjective experience. Sorry, it's just not sound-proof reasoning to do something.
  15. The first request seems reasonable enough, if we're just talking about for Scrappers and Stalkers. On the other hand, those ATs aren't meant to be as durable as Tankers and Brutes, so it's not completely unfounded for them to have Evasion later. For that reason, it seems unlikely you could see that change. As for the +Def suggestion for Quickness, that's a big request. Is that +3% for Tanker version? The Scrapper version? Either way, I'm pretty sure that would put Tankers at some ridiculously strong defense numbers with just the set. I don't have Pine's here to double check, but I'm sure there's nigh soft-cap levels of defense. With their higher HP and scaling resists percentages, that's maybe just a little too good.
  16. Hey Warboss! Think I ran with you for a few missions last week (maybe over the weekend?) on Torchbearer. I was on my rad/sonic def Rad Radio. You tanked some good missions, man!
  17. Those are the levels that those recipes will drop at. You can still slot a level 30 Eradication in your character at level 50. Its values will still be at the level 30 mark, but on the plus side, when you exemplar down as far as level 27, you'll still get their bonuses.
  18. , he asked, apparently without irony, in the community built around a game people are running for free and at some legal risk.
  19. Uhm, how often are people achieving that level of accuracy before 20 that they'd even have the clamp applied? And why would you notice it more before 20 as opposed to after 30 when it would till be the same 5% chance to miss?
  20. I like to think of it as a forum with extremely crippling ADHD.
  21. No worries. If you can toss one out there, that would be pretty generous. If not, well, you already gave me good advice. I think power selection would be he biggest insight over slotting. I only mentioned SOs because I'm not going to be putting IOs in the second build anytime soon.
  22. Except you can still miss with the changes he proposed. Actually the things you compared this to aren't comparable at all, and showed you didn't understand the OP. Actually, it shows he does understand OP. OP wants it so that if you've achieved 100% accuracy, you can't miss. You can also achieve 100% resist and 100% defense in the game. The caps for those mechanics are effectively the same thing as the "clamp". The comparison made is quite apt, actually.
  23. When fighting EB's and AV's, or even named bosses, it seems somewhat unrealistic that they wouldn't be able to avoid at least some % of the attacks you make. What kind of epic villain would Lord Recluse be if he couldn't manage to avoid at least 1 attack? I get it, missing sucks when it happens. But big deal, it's not the end of the world and at worst it adds, what? A few extra seconds to your encounter? It's not worth getting in a twist over.
  24. If you go with Rad/Bio, I'd recommend Musculature Core Paragon in your Alpha slot for added damage and -def enhancement values, and Reactive Radial Flawless in your Interface for a little extra -Res debuff and Fire DoT for more mixed damage. You know, once you get to 50 that is.
  25. Why take Hasten when you can just get 70% global recharge in set bonuses and never have a crash?
