This is a good thing and the entire point of ED. I wonder if the curve had been more gradual but still had the effect of neutering enhancements after 3-slotting, would that have made him content?
-
Wouldn't the Kheldian's have been affected by ED as well? Sounds like they were taking your spot on the team because they were just playing better. I didn't start playing tanks until after ED. My first was an Ice/EM, which I made after taking a Peacebringer to 50. I never tanked with my Kheldian as well as I did with that tank or any other tank since then.

I get the need to adjust ET, but I would still say the animation change was a terrible way to do that, and still is. There are better ways to make the set in line with what they wanted it to be.

sound like a class that should be introduced at April fools day and only be around for April edit: i just had an idea Diplomat he is essentially an Mastermind but instead of Summoning his own pets he can convince his Enemys to fight on his side (except of course for things like a Boss, Archvillain, story importand enemys and other redicolouse strong enemys) If this is diplomacy, it would be better if you just convinced them to walk away from the fight altogether. No XP rewarded.

Ok, I revisited the Ice/EM build since I couldn't just leave a subpar one out there. I focused on shoring up the fire damage hole as best as possible, while not gimping power enhancements. It has softcap S/L/E/N defense and 34% F/C. With a full hit of Energy Absorption, you can have 41% F/C, and the build can allow you to stack that over the softcap with another full EA. On top of that, you'll have 50% resist to Fire, so you should be sitting pretty so long as Psi isn't an issue. Additionally, while it doesn't have Hasten, you're practically running around with perma-Hasten (without the fear of a crash) at 85% global recharge. There's 53% acc bonus so your punches should land plenty of times. With EA up every 20 secs, you shouldn't have to worry too much about endurance. I've also put in a couple more AoE's with Soul Tentacles and Dark Obliteration. You're only drawback is you've only got Hoarfrost to heal yourself with every 140 seconds. Should sh*t hit the fan though, you have Hibernate as your last resort. [edit] Oh yeah, it's not gonna be a cheap build. So there's that. And yet, over a decade later, there's a surprisingly sizable player base for a game that's been officially shuttered. I can get how some people left when it first happened without the context of IOs and the Incarnate system. But at this point, anyone still griping about it can't see the forest for the trees. This game is miles ahead of where it would be if it never introduced ED.
-
Actually this one is answerable. For Scrappers the standard DPS measurement was the pylon test, how long does it take to solo kill a Rikti Pylon. That's a pretty skewed answer, but perhaps that's your point.
-
I'm hoping to use Him as a little more all-purpose. I enjoy farming part of the time, but also like really pulling my weight in teams. Especially if I can be a tanky-brute. I was actually thinking Soul Tentacle, Dark Obliteration and Darkest Night if I could fit all three in. I feel like Rad/ doesn't lack for good ST damage, so another cone and AoE would be nice, as well as the debuffs you mentioned.
-
I don't really ever see those as being useful as both of those metrics are very narrow. DPS with the amount of AoE and effects isn't really something that's consistent or easy to calculate. Situational powers, buffs, debuffs, etc effect it drastically. Likewise healing is such a narrow definition and wouldn't take into account increasing defense, regeneration, resists, etc. Neither of those two numbers has any applicable value in being displayed, as they don't give you any actionable information. Then there's the question of how long a period of time is this tracking? What happens when you step out of a mission or zone? What time frame would this need to be limited to when calculating the DPS? I mean, what's the S in DPS??

Reactive Core Flawless Interface with its 75% chance for a 2.5% res debuff and 25% chance for moderate fire DOT -or- Reactive Radial Flawless Interface with its 75% chance for moderate fire DOT and 25% chance for a 2.5% res debuff If it makes a difference, this would be for a Rad/Bio Brute.
-
Yup. This is why people aim for S/L defense, since so many attacks in the game have a S/L component attached to them. Pure F/C/E/N types aren't as common.
-
So I've taken my Rad/Bio brute up to 50 at this point. I would say the AoE damage output is pretty damn sweet, but I'm not sure it could beat out other builds like Spines/Fire (not that I've played them). I'm considering how I'd like to IO him out. At the moment I would like to hit the S/L softcap, and get plenty of recharge in there. I'm also debating taking out Proton Sweep. It's not *horrible* per se, but I find most melee cones are highly situational considering how mobs like to cluster around you. I've been soloing +2/x8 and melting mobs pretty easily. That's just on basic IOs and combining inspirations for purples. I've only just started putting in some Incarnate slots. At the moment I know I'll want Musculature Core Paragon in the Alpha slot for the 45% Damage boost and 33% Def Debuff, and pair that with Reactive Interface for additional res debuff and fire procs. I'm aiming to be a def/res debuff monster. Still need to figure out which mastery pool to go with (if any). And if any number cruncher wizards can tell me which Reactive Flawless translates to more damage, that would be great.

Hi Dev's. Say, can we get a Super Group Sticky Thread?
Rylas replied to King Judah's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, he's more like the guy that wears a Red Polo at Target, talking about how great the store is and all the great things it does, but then you ask him where bug spray is and he's all like, "I don't work here, dude" and then you're both kind of just standing there feeling awkward. -
I can understand how on a Stalker some of those powers could be considered "junk," but... you know... Stalkers. For other ATs, it's a pretty well rounded set. The only power I think is a bit limited is Proton Sweep. But I consider a lot of cones for Melee to be that way. Too many are long and narrow instead of being short and wide.
-
I think if you're hoping to make whole groups melt, then yeah, Fusion is required. Leading with Fusion and Atom Smasher is a great way to get the ball rolling. But the -def debuff doesn't require Fusion to bring a lot to the table. Good question on Fusion and IG. I don't think I've paid a lot of attention to it to know.
-
Here's my attempt at soft-capped S/L Defense, perma-hasten and keeping decent enhancement values (especially accuracy for Siphon Speed, Transference and FS). I still have a 2 slots I can place, but haven't noticed any really good spots to put them. Any thoughts on where they could be put to the best use? I've leveled a Rad/Bio brute to 50, and I've found Rad Melee to really be a great performer. Contamination in the later levels will really start to add to the damage in large groups. You've got some great single target attacks, and once you pick up Irradiated Ground, you're gonna see those numbers ticking away quite a bit. Add Atom Smasher to IG (especially after popping fusion) and whole groups of mobs will melt away. My only word of warning would be not to rely on Radiation Siphon as an emergency heal. It requires the target to be Contaminated for the heal to pop off, so when you're in the middle of a large crowd and having a hard time seeing which target is Contaminated, you're kind of left up to dumb luck. It functions way better as a ST attack for great damage, making it worth grabbing.

Have I mentioned my hopes for a tank-mage like AT? No? Think Defensive/Control-melee. Maybe somewhere between Sentinel and Scrapper defense numbers (blaster HP cap?) in its primary, and slightly increased damage on the control powers (with shorter durations) with 2-4 melee attacks (moderate damage at most) tossed in the secondary. Not unlike Blaster manipulation sets. Not capable of edging out Tanks or Brutes on their aggro abilities, and not edging out Dominators or Controllers on control powers. But capable of good crowd management and not being too slow on damage for some moderate solo performance. For poops and giggles, I worked up an example of how one of the secondary sets could look. Electrical Command Tier 1 — Electric Fence: (short) Ranged, Moderate DoT(Energy), Foe Immobilize, -End, -Fly, -Knockback Tier 2 — Charged Cage: Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Hold, -End Tier 3 — Grounding Strike: PBAoE, Minor DMG(Energy), Foe Immobilize, -End, -Fly, -Knockback Tier 4 — Chain Induction: Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -End Tier 5 — Conductive Aura: Toggle, PBAoE, Foe -End, Self +Rec, +Regen Tier 6 — Lightning Clap: PBAoE, Knockdown Tier 7 — Paralyzing Blast: PBAoE, Minor DoT(Energy), Foe Hold, -End Tier 8 — Thunder Strike: Melee (Targeted AoE), High DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Disorient, -Recovery Tier 9 — Gremlins: Melee Minor DMG(Energy)

Wait, that's what double feature means!? *angrily dumps extra large bucket of popcorn and 3D glasses he just bought in the trash bin outside the movie theater*

I've read this more times than I care to admit.... Wut?
-
Oh yeah, that's what I need. My responsibility-denying addiction on the go.
-
In the game, it could be an app that you use. Like Venmo or CashApp, it's just your alts sharing money over new technology, rather than somehow all having the same bank account.
-
My guess would be that DM is just so useful, that many defense pair well with it. Elec/ probably doesn't see as much pairing since it's resistance based and the -tohit from /DM has more synergy with defense based sets. Also, it's not the only one to double heals and end recovery with /DM. Bio/, Fiery/, and Ice, will also do the same. That said, /Elec is a pretty damn sturdy set. I have no doubt it makes for a great combo. Add in a soft-cap S/L through IOs and Weave and I'm sure you could take on a lot of x8 groups. Hmm... now you got me thinking about doing the same on either a brute or tank. Thanks!

I can't see how this would be a bad thing, so sure, I can support this idea. In the meantime though, in case this doesn't become a thing, why not keep the bulk of all your inf on a global email and treat that like the bank every time you log in/out?
