I notice that when you click a name often the option to add them as a global friend is not always present, while adding local friend is. Perhaps that's what you mean by default?

Poll: Base Editor Changes We'd Like to See
SpookTheHerd replied to Dacy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I feel like base shift may be something way baked into the code and not easily identifiable. Like it's some odd consequence of whatever goes into making the whole thing work. Not as if it's it's own feature which can simply be removed. Obviously the gradual deterioration of a base would be lovely to avoid, but it seems like it would be no small task. I definitely need more sources for area lighting... But maybe this is just my ignorance at the moment, IDK One thing I'd love to see that's not on the list is just less gaudy storage options for salvage and enhancements. If we just could get some crates with the storage properties on them, people would probably not use anything but them. I've seen a few of the houses from the base auction, and as pretty as they are, none of them are very functional because who wants to put a salvage rack anywhere they wish to enjoy visually? Oh and as far as copy/paste goes, that F4 key is just dying to be assigned to "duplicate selected object" functionality. -
Something I would love to see which I can already see the backlash over Would be the ability to swap to villain zones as a hero and hero zones as a villain. I've often considered that this would require duplicate PVP versions of each zone for players who wish to opt out. Maybe that's still necessary, but we know no one would use those (unless there were infiltration based mission doors!) How it would work: A hero or villain could swap sides freely, but nearly everything is hostile to them, including vigilantees and rogues, for these purposes they side with the native faction. Certain groups like Longbow to heroes and Arachnos to villains might actually be set as non-hostile. Starter zones like Atlas and Mercy would of course be off limits, just for reasons of politeness to starting players. Or again, duplicate zones or an opt-in system (maybe a player who has not opted in is straight up phase shifted or invis to a hostile player or vise versa--no duplicate zone required!). The only primary reason I could see for doing this is RP purposes, affiliated infiltration based missions, and bragging rights that you withstood an entire zone of angry enemies for all of 30 seconds before you got KO'ed. I'd love to see this--and I'm not even any good at PvP!

Is there a guide somewhere to what each enemy group under AE is connected to? Many of them are self-explanatory but I am looking for a few hyper-specific things maybe. 1) an enemy group for CoT demons -only- They were once called "Praetorians" in pre-Going Rogues times, if I'm not mistaken. 2) the Sybill's of Cimerora... Was hoping to use base models and color tint them, though I suppose NOW we can fully recreate them but I'm not trying to bloat the file size like that. 2b) Cimeroran civilians, the non-hostile folk Etc! Something else might come up later! Like I said, a guide to what's what would be appreciated, and I imagine at this point requests like mine are nothing new. Thanks!

I am the proud owner on Ever and Torch of Major Babe, Practice Girl and Company Man King Cabbage (as well as his protege) Patch Kidd Basic Bee is a blades stalker. She is a worker bee who lives in fear of the queen reclaiming her to the hive. Destroevsky is a nuclear robot TOS Violation is a bots MM with pet names like Spamming, Flaming, Harassment and Pornography. Lady Speed Stick is a staff fighter with Super Speed. Her personal name is Denise Ophelia Durant. D.O. Durant is that too much I have an unplayed toon of Sister Minister, guess who she looks like a gender flipped version of. The Only Good Cop is a (zombie MM) cop. Oh lord I also have APE MAGE on two servers. Every server needs an Ape Mage. -
Ugh goddammit is that what they did? People hate knockback so much they want to bring harm to my precious chaos ball? I had notice Sing behaving differently these past few months, but didn't fathom as to why. At least it's still a mostly indestructible chaos ball, just wish there was a way to reset it to default behavior. Null? That guy's got a lotta work to do.

League Running, Scaling Enemies, and Annoyance
SpookTheHerd replied to SpookTheHerd's topic in General Discussion
These are good points, as well as an underleveled MM having access to extra pet spawns which aren't available at their individual level. Re: the scaling: as much as we talk of the spaghetti code of the game, the fact that scaling enemies seem to just work as intended is nothing to sneeze at. -
League Running, Scaling Enemies, and Annoyance
SpookTheHerd replied to SpookTheHerd's topic in General Discussion
Under the conditions I'm speaking of, nobody will have lost access to any earned powers. There were instances organizing rikti raid teams when there were NO 50's in the league and people were like "put a 50 in charge!". I would ask "OK didja bring one?" after verifying that they were on a team being run by the highest level player available. I can be level 25 as a league leader and a 50 can be the lead of team 2+ just fine. -

SpookTheHerd replied to SpookTheHerd's topic in General Discussion
If a zone event is popping off around me and I'm currently logged in as a 36+, and people keep broadcasting 'league?', and I verify that they're all underneath my level? I'm gonna form that league. If 50's show up, they can be leads of teams 2-♾️. As long as everyone on team 1 is under my level, everyone on the league should be able to work at their full capacity. Again, league leadership shouldn't be thrust on anyone who's not prepared to handle it during an ongoing event where people are still asking for invites. Edit for excessive egotistical boasting: You may be 50 in level, but I AM a 50 in managerial skills! -
League Running, Scaling Enemies, and Annoyance
SpookTheHerd replied to SpookTheHerd's topic in General Discussion
I actually think that exp rewards are calculated out based on each player's individual level. That's why at lvl 1 you can join a 50`s team but with each enemy defeated you get the exp appropriate as a lvl 1, with whatever + the team is fighting against. I think? -
League Running, Scaling Enemies, and Annoyance
SpookTheHerd replied to SpookTheHerd's topic in General Discussion
That's definitely another side of the coin. My approach as an incoming player, at least to a GM fight, is just get some hits in. Team or league makes no difference if you are actively engaging. These requests for a 50 to be in the lead never actually come FROM 50`s. -
Since the surge of players after the licensing, I've found myself opting to form leagues for monster hunting and spontaneous zone events. When it comes to zone events, whoever I recruit as can be very circumstantial, I recruit in the moment without swapping toons, because by that time who knows what I might have missed. I often broadcast "I'm not a 50 but I can invite" and keep an eye out for higher level characters in order to make them team leads. I only keep people on my team who are under my level. League leadership and team management are not a thing to thrust on an unsuspecting player. Being a 50 is no guarantee that a player even understands most of the games interface. What I've found annoying, even as a character in their mid-40 levels, is the unceasing calls to put a 50 in charge. It is my understanding that with scaling enemies like GM's and Rikti Raids and Mapservers, that so long as you have access to all of your powers, you will fight just as effectively. A level 15 character could run an AE arc which arbitrarily scales them up to level 50, they will operate just as effectively as they would at their own level. Maybe EXP payout is somewhat different? However, back when the spontaneous rikti raids were running, I recall someone saying "we should put a 50 in charge!" after I had gone through every team to verify that not only were there no 50's, but every team was headed up by the highest level player available. I know nothing will ever stop the clamoring for "make be 50 now", I was just hoping someone could spell out precisely why it's so unbearable to have a team take on Kraken at the highest available level on the team when that level does not happen to arbitrarily be 50. My suspicion is that many players simply don't have an understanding or faith in the scaling nature of exp & damage against these enemies.

The pet recipe drop rate is what again?
SpookTheHerd replied to Marshal_General's topic in General Discussion
It might BE 10% But that's still a 90% chance of no. I've had 2 or 3 recipe drops from a variety of of GM's, but you really can't count on it. Ultimately the marketplace will become saturated with enough of them that if you keep rolling random ones and you're not getting the ones you want, you should just be able to sell them off to acquire the ones you ARE after. -
If you could see one of your characters integrated into the game somehow, how would you like them to be represented? AE arcs are a good outlet for some of this daydreaming, but how else might you see your characters worked into the world? (obviously I'm opening up this discussion because I have my answer) If I had my way, my character King Cabbage would assault King's Row in a zone event akin to a Rikti Invasion. First heroes would destroy his harvest pods, and then his Vegetates would emerge--these would be a mixture of generic vegetable brained drones and discolored copies of the players heroes in the zone (like at the end of Posi 1 just not in full shadow). Then of course King Cabbage himself would stomp around angrily and yell about how he has come to reclaim his Row. Eventually a more serene version of King Cabbage would lead a I-trial/expedition into Praetoria to attemp to eject Hamidon from that world. He would take root into that planet to sew his seeds of rejuvenation, as the player characters buy him time. He would appear to perish and the players would make a narrow escape knowing they had actually set the stage for Hamidon's eventual defeat. Bonus NPC: My character Dawn'sEarlyLight is very sore that they passed over her for Fusionette as the hero trainer in Kallisti Wharf. Especially as I once had the impression that KW was built as a haven for Praetorian refugees and a symbol of unity between worlds. Fusionette was a disappointing choice, regardless of whether or not my own ego was factored in.

How is it that 18 hours is the magical number that manages to attain balance for you? The same single player can spawn GWW once and hour by killing 20 regular War Walkers.
-
Loving the attention GM's received in the lastest patch but there are a few QOL improvements I would like to recommend: -Ambushes should level-scale. Just did an Adamastor and the mid-20 level ambush is completely underwhelming. Why even have it when your teams are led by incarnates? Inversely, during the winter events, I noticed Winter Lords out in the wild spawning underlings at level 50. This would happen in atlas park! It's just irresponsible programming. The adds should just be de-leveled like the GM they come from. The factions in the Croatoa war or the halloween banner events operate this way, so it should be an easy fix. -It would be nice if the cooldown for rewards from Scrapyard was scaled down somewhat. I just had my first instance of running it on two separate days with the same toon and not being rewarded anything, let alone monster merits. Maybe six hours? Enough to communicate the message of "go do something else for a while" without the backlash of "oh gee has it not been EIGHTEEN HOURS YET silly me!" that I just went through.

Accolade for collecting all badges of a holiday event
SpookTheHerd replied to Super Atom's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I cause myself to have an aneurysm any time I attempt to interact with anything on GitHub. I get that I am looking at a directory. OK great. I need the stupidest dumbest arrow-pointy-est instructions. I miss .exe's. -
Accolade for collecting all badges of a holiday event
SpookTheHerd replied to Super Atom's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This could be a handy way of working as a quick check-in on characters you don't play too often, to take a look at the accolade and see how many pieces of it you're still missing. I thought there might already have been something like this for the Halloween event but without being in-game I can't say. It would especially be helpful because for most of the winter rewards, there's no greyed out version of them before you get them, you just get them upon completion of a task. Like, the box-click badge and the snowman hunt are the only ones wth a counter.
