New Computer - Any pitfalls to worry about?
GM Crumpet replied to dmiasek's topic in General Discussion
I do indeed. Apologies I'll edit my post And yes I run two screens. I don't tend to play both characters, one in my main played alt the other is either a slave for buffs or an alt I'm levelling and want to monitor. I'm not sure about them lagging behind each other, but they are both smooth within themselves. Often I have something on the second screen like a show I'm streaming or a music player. Or I'm monitoring a download. I was downloading Baldurs Gate 3 the other evening while I was doing an MSR. -
New Computer - Any pitfalls to worry about?
GM Crumpet replied to dmiasek's topic in General Discussion
From someone on the front line, get an AMD or NVidia graphics card and don't even think of using an integrated graphics chip. We have a steady stream of people who can't play the game to it's best advantage because integrated GPU chips can't handle OpenGL very well. It might very well do other things brilliantly, but older games struggle badly. I've also heard reports that the very latest expensive cards have issues, but anything a year or two older will work fine. I'm using a Geforce GTX 1650 and it works well. I also have no issues at all with multi screen. -
There are a lot of Easter eggs in the game, plus some memorial characters. I don't know which one he is, he could even be something a dev put in to amuse one of his kids 🙂

You beat me to it. The devs changed it as it was too easy otherwise. I used to solo it regularly and then leg it once Sam was safe.

I think there is some confusion. Bots are automated game play, multiboxing is running multiple alts. You can do both of course but it's very rare. Many people multibox for various reasons but I've rarely encountered it in non AE teams. The few times I have It's either the team leader or someone who has asked the team leader for permission. I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to sneak a second alt in by pretending to be separate people. As for the leader of your particular team, his loss I think. Good tanks can make a massive difference when things go south. Ask you to prove it if they are really bothered. It's pretty obvious when it's 2 people.

Not just in Shakespeare's time. My dad left school at 14 and started working. His dad had died and his mom had 9 kids. Someone had to put food on the table.

Discord Data Breach - Does this impact us?
GM Crumpet replied to Black Space's topic in General Discussion
Talking to our admins it's not a Discord issue, so unless you actively have an account with Discord.io you are fine. If you do have a discord.io then obviously make sure you change your passwords on anything (not just Discord) that might possibly use the same password. -
Got rid of a lot of posts unrelated to the topic and I don't want this to become a pro/anti farm rant thread. If it starts again I'll lock the thread.

Yeah I was on a warshade the other day and the team leader asked people not to teleport the enemies away. I said sorry and he said "Oh it was you, carry on" 😛 Warshades need lots of enemies to get the best damage and defence. I was kind of in a warshade-lock as I think I was the most powerful team member except the team lead. I tried to go far enough forward that it didn't affect the other main damage dealer 🙂

I suppose I could lock it if people want, but as @Raikao says it can still be relevant. I personally hate group fly and it happens so rarely I never thing to turn it off at Null. I was running a farm a few days ago where I had to tell the MM to turn it off as it was very disconcerting. Team/league leader rules apply in that situation. If they don't mind, use it. If they do turn it off. You generally can't vanish mid fight to go talk to Null because someone uses a certain power.

I liked the trailer, even though it did look a lot like The Guyver

I found out a couple of days ago my friend went to see the previews and absolutely hated it. He's a good fit for the demographic as well, he's gay, used to be a nanny and played Barbie with his charges, loves anything camp and silly. He said it was misandrist and mean spirited. He also agreed that if you took a shot every time they said Patriarchy you'd probably die. He also thought the Barbie exec stuff could have been cut out and nobody would really have noticed. I'll probably catch it on streaming at some point so I'll see for myself.

What do you mean? Another forum account you can't access? Your game account?

I'm playing a tri form and having a great time, even if I'm a lot busier than I would be in a normal AT. I kind of default to lobster, but teleport in as human , shadow slip to collect the enemies, eclipse, mire, quasar, then dwarf for mopping up. I use squid for those times an enemy decides to be annoying and flies around or runs off and I need a range attack. I have the teleports and shape shifting on binds so it's a quick flick of a button. Laucianna did help me considerably with tweaking my build and helping me get the best out of it. I'm running at +4/4 and seem to be clearing a lot faster than some of my other alts on +4/2.

You can bind the power to a key then highlight the pet in the pet window and cast it. -
HELP! New laptop has huge ping when playing
GM Crumpet replied to Flintlock Burnfur's topic in Help & Support
To be honest, just the fact it's an integrated Intel graphics chip is enough to be causing all your issues. You can get it to play with the command you have in the box, but you aren't going to get anywhere close to the graphics performance you want and need. You can play, it just won't look pretty. -
Check my build, what needs tweaking
GM Crumpet replied to GM Crumpet's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Yeah I do have Agility (when I did my build I was still opening the hybrid) and picked barrier over Ageless due to the increased def and res but am thinking of changing to ageless. I generally stick with lobster unless the enemies run or I'm in an open area, but it does sound like a good change to swap the proc. The POTT was more a placeholder until someone said to me "You slotted what, where??? NOOB!!" 😛 A lot of the placements are from Doom and as I am not good at frankenslotting I kind of just slotted blind 🙂 -
So, forget I'm a GM for the minute and assume I'm a normal player just trying to get the best out of his warshade. I started with the build on the pinned guide by Laucianna, then after much discussion and some expensive mistakes I finally came up with a tweaked version of the excellent build posted by @Doomrider. So what do people think? Do I need to change anything? I can't justify the cost of Hami-O's, so made do with alternatives. Warshade.mbd

GM Crumpet replied to cranebump's topic in General Discussion
For clarity as it appears I'm either being misunderstood or misquoted. As a person I have my feelings and preferences. As a GM I am impartial. We have guidelines we follow and also a system where we talk about issues and come to a consensus if it's not clear cut. If it actively involves me (and the same goes for other GM's) I recuse myself from the conversation completely and don't interact with the player or situation. I will also recuse myself if I feel strongly enough about something that I have a visceral reaction to it. If I'm angry, or annoyed, or upset then I won't involve myself. I would rather walk away from a situation than deal with it emotionally. I pass it to the team and let them handle it calmly and rationally. -

I'm the same. I'm a boomer so getting offended at something wasn't a thing. If we didn't like it we just didn't talk to the person any more.
