  1. Also a GM not a lead or admin!! We aren't monsters. We aren't going to kick someone sitting quietly in a corner doing no harm and not getting in the way, even if for some reason they are AFK for hours. I've done it myself for damage received badges, standing AFK in a fire and going shopping. When I come back a few hours later, Voila!! The badge!! You may have a good reason to be AFK. You might have forgotten to log off and gone to answer the phone then gone out and not come back until the next day. As long as you aren't causing lag in the murder hotel or are in the way of a portal, we'll probably just leave a tell as a welfare check and hope you reply at some point. (Please reply, we worry).
  2. That sounds like most threads by around page three 😛
  3. locking this thread as it seems to be going nowhere
  4. I've passed your thanks on to Manga. I'm so glad you are sorted, and it's something I've not come across before so I'll keep it in mind moving forward
  5. I remember drinking that in my youth. It also doubled as a rather good drain cleaner
  6. As Koopak says, this issue was investigated by Cipher who determined that using diagnostic tools on the test server is perfectly acceptable. Perhaps there was some unintentional confusion around the methodology, but that's what the test server is for. As long as the process using outside tools is kept to the test server then it's fine. Using macro's is allowed on all shards and servers, and there is no sign of outside app automation to try to cheat the system. I get it, it's an emotive issue. Botting and cheating to get big numbers is always going to make people upset, but from what I can see real life human interaction seems to give the same or better results. Laucianna and Americas Angel (to name just a couple of the well known players) do incredibly well and leave the rest of us (or at least me) face down in the dirt. Much as I enjoy playing Kheldians I'll never achieve the skill necessary to get close to their power. I have great builds, I've spent a lot of inf making my Khelds as good as I can get them, but the human factor kicks in and I have to bow to the experts.
  7. It's a manual thing so we pinged the people responsible. When I say days or weeks it's often immediate, but it's a high level admin thing so if a combination of circumstances happens then it can take a while.
  8. Spoke to Manga and for Mac they suggest moving to LaunchCat and only using Island Rum if LaunchCat doesn't work for you https://launchcat.powermadsoftware.com/
  9. Tequila isn't supported so the manifest can be days or weeks before it's deployed. Swap to the launcher for instant access.
  10. I personally hate group fly as I always forget to turn it off at Null until it's too late. I also hate speed boost and ditto. Then I'm stuck in a TF until it's over. A simple "anyone mind group fly?" would solve that problem most of the time. And yes, the majority hate it. I cringe when I see a bots MM join as it seems to only be them that use it all the time. As for team leads, they have full authority over the team. If they have asked someone not to do something, like group fly, teleporting enemies away from the tank, massive knockback powers etc and they continue then they have the right to kick who they like. GM's won't interfere. Some team leads have odd ideas, but the majority are normal sensible people.
  11. I've pinned this post as it's terribly useful
  12. I'm in the UK so a lot of that is a mystery to me. We don't automatically go to college or University, and we don't have school shootings. We rarely if ever even have an incident on school property. I agree with you on house prices, but again not as bad over here. I bought my first house 8 years ago for £92K. I sold the family home for £120K (I had to split it with my sister) as it was very run down so someone got a fixer upper and a bargain, and my mortgage is £400 a month. Similar houses in my street have gone up to around £140K in those 8 years. I'm on just over UK minimum wage (what's called the real living wage) which translates as $16.00 an hour and work 44 hours a week, and can pay my utilities and car loan and internet with some left over for the odd takeaway and treat. Plus I pay a small tax of around £1000 for full medical coverage and no co-pay or refusal for existing medical conditions. My food bill is around £100 a month (around $130). Food prices are much lower here. A gallon of milk (6 pints) is £1.50 and a loaf of bread is around 50p. We do University tuition loans differently. You don't pay anything if you earn less than £25K then you pay a percentage of your income above that amount. It's also forgiven after 20 years if it's not fully paid off. I think the idea that our parents were better off than us can be misleading. My parents bought their first house after I was born, and it was a small 2 bed with no running water. There was a single toilet in the yard used by 5 houses and a tap outside everyone got their water from. As a child I remember times when money was so tight we had bread and jam for dinner as there was no money to buy anything else till Friday, even when both my parents worked. It was only later that I realised mom saying "No you eat it, I'm not hungry" was mom talk for "I can feed you or I can feed me, I can't feed us both" and going without food to make sure my sister and I were fed. Changes in social housing has really taken us back to those days. Everything now is private landlords, and social housing is really hard to find. Normal working class people in both our countries find it hard to even pay rent, and can't get a mortgage despite the mortgage payments generally being lower than the rent they are paying. I'd be paying 3 times as much if I was renting this house instead of buying it. Every generation faces challenges, I don't see that changing any time soon unfortunately.
  13. It's like anything, there is a lot of generalisation about different generations. Music was better in my day, when I was a kid we walked to school, Kids these days with their mobile phones and fancy gadgets. I stopped walking as soon as I was able to buy a car. I like Beyonce and Taylor Swift and Arianna Grande as much as I love Dusty Springfield and the Seekers and Steeleye Span. And my house is full of gadgets. Alexa answers from 3 different rooms sometimes. I don't miss ice cold houses with no central heating, being sacked from my job because they found out I was gay, having to eat toast and noodles because I couldn't afford anything else. Kids these days have it a lot easier than we did, and I'm glad. It means I have it easier too. I just wish they would chill and enjoy their youth. I see a generation of beautiful people obsessed with their looks, not realising they are actually perfect. I understand, I was as bad. I look at old photos of me and realise "hey!! I wasn't as bad looking as I remember".
  14. Don't look too closely at enhancements. A lot of them involve replacing body parts!!
  15. In Mender Ramiel's arc it's explained that if you accept the wells offer and take your full power you become phenomenally powerful but end up under the control of the well. You have free will, but that will can be overridden when it feels the need to do so. Statesman accepted that and didn't dare unleash his full power, Recluse understood that and spent vast resources trying to circumvent the well so he could unleash his full power. Players go the long way round and therefore don't fall under the sway of the well. The incarnates we see and play aren't fully incarnated yet. I think if the game had continued we'd have learned more as the Battalion was supposed to be kind of the anti-well and absorbed it's power to increase their power. And yes, you as players are along for the ride where the NPC is the main character. Apparently All speculation from AMA's after the game was shut down of course, so not exactly canon.
  16. All my generation were latch key kids. I see kids these days and wonder how they survive. 18 and 19 year olds (and I know it's a gross over generalisation) don't seem to be nearly as competent or independent as we were at that age. They also seem to have the survival instincts of a lemming. I've lost count of the number of kids looking at their phones with headphones in who've stepped in front of my car as I'm driving without even looking up. I'm nearly having a heart attack from coming inches away from running them over and they are more offended by the fact I dared interrupt their TikTok 😛
  17. Hey, I like being comfy!!
  18. I'm on the cusp of boomer and Gen X.
  19. I'm 60 and have no patience with people any more either. I don't feel 60 (well my knees do) but being aware that I'm closer to the grave than the womb at this point I don't have time to hang about waiting for other people. You young people with your flawless skin and questionable fashion choices (really? Ripped jeans? I've thrown better away) have no sense of urgency. I'm at the point I stand in front of a microwave oven shouting "hurry!!"
  20. This thread has run it's course and is basically done
  21. Yeah I think Cole was using Hamidon for his own aims, whereas Statesman was busy with the Rikti war. We know Cole made a deal with Hamidon, and Hamidon broke the deal after Cole decided to invade Primal Earth. If Cole hadn't been so controlling his world wouldn't have fallen to Hamidon. Hamidon saw the war preparation and decided humans were too unstable and aggressive.
  22. This is why I prefer dogs to people. I ask people if they want to go out and I'm waiting for ages for them to get ready. I said 8pm people, not I'll be there at 8pm and you can start your bath routine then. Dogs, all I have to say is "walkies" and they are at the door with the leads in their mouth before I finish putting my shoes on...... Then again, as a 200 year old dead person I'd have thought you'd have learned patience by now 😛
  23. Hi guys, when you report a thread could you put a description of why you think it needed reporting? Sometimes it's obvious like spambots, other times I'm looking thinking "Why is this reported?". If you think it's in the wrong section, or it's off topic, or you find it outrageous and need smelling salts (or poppers, I'm not judging!!) a quick description would help us immensely. Even one word is better than nothing 🙂 Thanks everyone. This message is brought to you by the letter C and is sponsored by Why_are_you_reporting_this.com Big hugs, Crumpet. P.S. we do appreciate all the reports people put in 🙂
  24. I've played undead for a long time so have experienced it a few times. Just as I cast it someone runs off and I'm like *$%*£ little *%$^* 😛
  25. Guides is for anything that helps a player with something, so how to use X, where to find Y, best ways to level up a Z etc. Fort Trident is for TF/SF and end game discussion only. I think it's to differentiate the help and guides to make things easier to find.
