  1. Nerf Stormfenders, got it. 👍
  2. You want to know my mindset? I don't want to deal with players threatening to quit, yell at developers, or wasting GM time with tickets because a player turned into a baby in their mission and they absolutely hate the look. When you're on this side and you're exposed to players constantly finding everything you do objectionable, the attitude comes for free. Some players complain about Baby New Year being ugly every time he shows up. Even as an April Fools joke. They have no problem voicing this, saying they will refuse to log in until it goes away, calling developer names, and filing tickets to complain about it. Honestly, I'm not in love with the Baby scale power being available at all because of this. Making it hard to obtain is mitigation. Making it not available at all is the alternative.
  3. For documentation, every Halloween door spawn, from minions to EBs, spawn using the same AI string; there's no special handling of EBs and it couldn't be realistically added without rewriting the way TOT spawns work, which we didn't have time to this year: FeelingBothered(100), RunOutOfDoor, Combat(NeverForgetTargets, TargetInstigator, EndCondition(TimeSinceIAttacked > 60)), RunIntoDoor(Timer(20)), DestroyMe The first two commands make it run out of the door while aggroed. Then it enters Combat Mode, targets a player and refuses to let go of that player no matter what -- but if the critter doesn't attack for 60 seconds, the Combat situation ends. When the combat phase ends, it spends 20 seconds trying to run to the nearest door, then it despawns. Despawning in this way does indeed not grant any rewards.
  4. There's 145 options priced at 10 prismatics. Honestly, the fact that so many options are priced at the minimum price is why your posts fail to convince me in any way, because they completely ignore the variety available at that price point in order to focus on the more expensive ones. From the dev side, this is the tier that matters, and it's priced to be very accessible. There's 17 costumes that are worth 100 prismatics, and they're all deprecated looks that we want people to think twice about obtaining. We want people to honestly ask themselves whether they want to spend the prismatics on a deprecated look, instead of going for a more lore-appropriate look that is 10 times cheaper. Baby Mode is 250 prismatics for a very specific reason: we want people to think very carefully whether getting this is worth not getting 25 other costumes. If your concept is a baby character, great! But we don't want every character in Paragon running as a baby for the lols. Baby Mode was originally the 1500 prismatic power because we assumed that nobody would really want to make a character with those scales, but after the Page 4 testing determined that, actually, some people do, it was lowered to 250 in order to make it attainable -- but it'll cost you. The other two Effect powers are 250 prismatics for the reason already stated, they add extra particle systems to the game and that's something we need to be careful with. The 1500 meme look has already been addressed.
  5. The "Deluxe" costume is a meme power with a quite ugly look meant for people who have acquired tons of prismatics and want to show it off even if the result is ugly. I would advocate for a T-Shirt texture that reads "I spent 1500 prismatics and all I got was this stupid shirt", but the texture resolution isn't detailed enough.
  6. The datamining we've been conducting since Page 4 launched doesn't support your idea that 10 prismatics is "hundreds of hours of grinding", so we're just not going to see eye to eye on this issue. I don't know what your personal acquisition rate is, but 10 prismatics for a costume is perfectly fair from a global look at how many are generated, spent, and put on the market.
  7. Most of the costumes are 10 prismatics. "Deprecated" looks are 100 prismatics in order to make them more rare, since the look itself is deprecated. You're making it sound like every single option is completely unattainable. This is not true and undermines your own point.

  9. That is a good question. I don't have an answer. Will investigate.
  10. There's no "rest" time coded on the mission drop; it's a straight addition to the same reward that triggers Pool B recipes, with no streakbreaker or lockout tokens.
  11. I don't understand this. The number of slots available didn't change. If anything, by picking a power that needs slots earlier you'll also be able to give it slots at a lower level than before.
  12. Irrelevant - for crying out loud, go make a separate thread titled "Is changing the power levels power creep?" and have the arguments/discussion there. This is a Focused Feedback thread. We want Focused. Feedback. Edit: Number Six posted it better here: Mods feel free to kill my posts during the next round of cleanup.
  13. Posts were hidden, not deleted. Devs can still painfully see every last bit of the back-and-forth arguing. The posts are hidden to stop more back-and-forth arguing from being piled on top. If you want to argue with another player on the theory behind the changes, do it on another thread or in PMs - this is a Focused Feedback thread. Focus.
  14. It intentionally doesn't because otherwise people read the patch notes, don't bother testing anything, and argue for pages after pages on performance based on what they read, rather than any actual play testing. While this always happens, last page it was egregious enough that for this Powers Preview patch we're just not going to be giving extreme detail on things. People should test. We want feedback based on how all the changes combined impact performance, rather than people isolating a single change and crying bloody murder while ignoring everything else.
  15. The live progression has gaps at levels 22, 24 and 30 where you can't pick any new powers from the primary and secondary. They now are 22 = Primary T8, 24 = Secondary T7, 30 = Secondary T9 so you always have something new from the main pools to pick. Moving the T9 created a similar hole at 38 where you weren't offered any new powers, so the Epic T3 was put there instead. I'm not a powers dev, but the goal, as I understand it, is that every level where you can pick a power, you have the choice to pick a new power from Primary, Secondary or Epic.
  16. Halloween Event 2022 Trick-or-Treat Updates Five new elite boss enemies have been added to the enemy roster when Trick-or-Treating above Level 25: Ancient Vampires Spectral Werewolves Arisen Mummies Crone Matriarchs Hollow Reapers These new elite bosses reward five times the influence and experience when defeated. These new elite bosses defeats give credit for the new and old event defeat badges for their enemy type groups. Spectral Werewolf defeats count as both a werewolf and a ghost defeat. Halloween Werewolf enemies will throw coffins using their Hurl power instead of boulders. All new Tier 1 prestige costume appearances have had Halloween temporary power versions added that drop from the event and are also sold by the Halloween salvage vendors. Using a permanent prestige costume will count for all Halloween event criteria that requires you to be wearing a costume such as receiving the Whispered Rumor tip or earning the Tricked Out badge. Halloween costume temporary powers have had 'Halloween' removed from their power names to make them easier to read in the power menu. Halloween salvage vendors have began offering the Fir Bolg prestige costume reward for 10 Prismatic Aether Particles and 50 of each Halloween salvage type. This costume will be available each year for the duration of October. New Badges Five new Event badges added for defeating each of the new Trick-or-Treat Elite Boss types: Vampiric Heritage - Defeat 5 Ancient Vampires from the Halloween Event to earn this badge. Spectral Anomaly - Defeat 5 Spectral Werewolves from the Halloween Event to earn this badge. Mummy's Curse - Defeat 5 Arisen Mummies from the Halloween Event to earn this badge. Unholy Cabal - Defeat 5 Crone Matriarchs from the Halloween Event to earn this badge. Reaper of Souls - Defeat 5 Hollow Reapers from the Halloween Event to earn this badge. Each of the five badges above will also reward 2 Prismatic Aether Particle salvage when earned. Dr. Kane's House of Horror Trial The Bored Guy and Bored Gal in the Dr. Kane's House of Horror trial have been given updated looks of their own.
  17. It was a real plan and the map was actually built, just never used. It's now in-game as part of the Aeon Strike Force, the alternate Steel Canyon in mission 5.
  18. Tequila doesn't remove itself, some antivirus software is known to remove it whenever there's an update because they see an unsigned program downloading executable files from the internet and it freaks them out. HC Launcher is digitally signed so it's less likely to be targeted by overzealous antivirus software.
  19. The AE story arcs exist in their own "database" which uses a format that is incompatible with normal story arcs. They can't be put on a regular contact as-is. We did add a command very early on to convert AE story arcs to the internal format, but none of our story developers use it because the converted arc is not very readable and it's just more effort to clean it up than make a new one from scratch. Even easier ideas such as allowing players to select a door for their mission other than the AE pillar ran into implementation problems, because the AE is a collection of hacks held together with bubblegum.
  20. New/proliferated/revamped sets and new story arcs are always the base line for a new page. Page 1 was the Vahz getting taken over into the Freaklok. Page 2 was the Tour Guide missions. Page 3 was the Aeon Strike Force. Page 4 was Sister Valeria and Hard Mode ITF. I can't comment on balance decisions since I'm not a powers dev, but I don't think there has been a single page without power chances in the name of balance, so that seems a given; I just don't know what form those changes will take because it's not my area. QOL is a weird thing to ask about since it can mean anything that makes things "better", so while once a change is made we can clearly say "this is a QOL change", asking if we're going to "do QOL" is such a broad question as to be meaningless. Improved gamepad support was QOL, walk customization was QOL, characters that start at 50 just for PVP was QOL. You say that the previous pages haven't been for you, but you haven't said what would be for you. So I can't respond whether our plans will meet your expectations.
  21. We are aiming for Page 5 to be a lot smaller; there's only a few line items that are considered essential for release, and anything that doesn't make it in time will just get dropped. Feature creep is something that we are painfully aware that we are prone to, and are trying to avoid going forward. That does mean that some things that were talked about "for the next page" may not be in Page 5 at all. They are being worked on, but if waiting for them to be ready risks delaying the page, we'll drop them and deal with the fallout.
  22. The short version is that content devs don't want AE to be the best source of every reward out there, so either the vet rewards go, or the conversion from emps goes. The former has incarnate progression nerfed out of AE as a side effect, the latter has reward merits from a few non-AE sources nerfed as a side effect (most were set to drop merits simultaneously to compensate). Long version requires one of the content devs that made the decision to write that post, I just change the code.
  23. If they were visible you could at least check that most of them are from accounts that have a post history, avatar, and various established opinions. Without that information it could just be 60 freshly created accounts. No results from polls with hidden voters will be considered valid by me when it comes to implementing a change, and I wish I knew how to see if the votes are public or not before looking at the results.
  24. Well, in that case there's no counter to the idea that the whole poll is manipulated by three people with 20 accounts each. Good job on making it entirely invalid due to lack of trust in the results.
  25. Click on the vote total and that tells you exactly what accounts voted for which option.
