Realisticly, +5/+6 would be ok with +7 being ok (though pushing it) if you're an incarnate. Beyond those, unless something changes it wouldn't be fun. The only thing that does though is increase the need for support. So if you take that into account, the smarter option is likely adding +5 and then enemy types that only show up in +5. Incarnate sappers for example or just enemies with more -tohit -def -res abilities. Theres plenty of things in game that would be difficult to deal with if enemies had access to it, so tougher versions of enemies is likely the best case scenario. Example enemies that increase difficult already- Awakened Malta Sappers CoT ghosts Force field generators Stuff like that.- 53 replies

Honestly, after seeing a lot of people express their opinions and how they build and enjoy the game, nerfing procs on a whole would be a detriment to the game. However, there are a small number of procs that could be nerfed a little and some that could be beefed a little still. like that dang guassians

So you traded self-sustainability for needing to rebuy inspirations constantly and renewing temp buffs? I feel like needing to rebuy and spam inspirations is a far bigger crutch than just soft capping your def especially since it's not even your characters strength it's just spamming insps lol Also, if i have cap'd def i can just bring all reds and do the same thing (damage cap is damage cap) but better because i only need reds.

in my defense, i said that before i knew they decreased it's activation time 😛 back on topic though I'd be ok with a 13 second GIS to increase it's DPA and kinda feel like it should it is GREATER after all

Using outside buffs and inspirations is not the sign of an optimal build. soloing +4/x8 incarnate enemies without insps or buffs is optimal. If your build needs help, it's a bad build.

@Mezmera I don't agree with a single thing you typed, but in the interest in keeping this on topic and not turning into a numbers war about Blasters vs defenders, we'll just nod and move on. I think wide-changes for procs isn't needed and power creep from IO's on a whole is a larger concern, individual procs could be adjusted though, like Gaussian's.

I know how to tweak it, my sus was more on the logic behind the point being made. A defender can catch up to a non-IO'd blaster in damage. I don't see how that makes a case for procs being overpowered considering an IO'd blaster would absolutely dust a defender in damage. @Mezmera Is the issue that Defenders should never do blaster-tier damage even if a blaster can outpace it in damage?

Gonna need to see proof, this is kinda sus. Wheres bopper when you need him, hes probably done this math a couple times already unless you're saying a slotted defender vs a non-slotted blaster but that's like saying empathy has better heals than force field.

Everyone has agreed on a lot of things for a long time through many many threads. My best solution in the meantime is play stalker. No GIS no problem.

Gaussian's proc is a little OP tbh, a full reliable second BU just for hitting a build up or aim is a little spicy.

This is literally the section of the forum where you bring your ideas to the devs/community at large. Constant demands to show thanks or appreciation to the Homecoming team is annoying and not something the devs do, so why do you? Back on topic though- I'd like to see at most 1 damage proc per power limit. Other procs are fine and the PPM system makes them fun to have.

You did a good job, this looks a lot like how the devs would have handled a stone-melee revamp. By making a flashy new version with unique gimmick and not touching stone melee.

Concept is cool and obviously things would get balanced in testing because that's how video games work, but i wouldn't get your hopes up. Has anything from the suggestion forums outside of small tweaks or balance ever made it into the game in the 2+ years? just curious

When i first saw this page drop, I was hoping to see the new power pools. I don't think power mimic is an issue though, look no further than Super Jump vs Mighty Leap. It's ok to have multiple choice of the same travel power as long as the rest of the pool is different enough to warrant a mimic. Honestly, I've been waiting for Life Support since i read about it way back when. My SR dreams of it. Crying itself to sleep every night without it. -

I can appreciate skipping it to achieve a desired build. However on the damage end, having hasten let's me skip attacks because I can form a tight chain with fewer picks, freeing up space for other choices. It allows me to focus more slotting for other things over recharge. Hasten is a very important tool for me on pretty much every build. Which is why I find it to be personally mandatory. Like I said though, I see your thought process and appreciate your approach 🙂 -

I like your post. The main miscommunication I always run into is i feel its mandatory even if it's not really trying to perma anything. It's a flat 70% recharge and not hard to perma. It has no negatives and is insanely good for being a power pool ability. TO me, there is little to no reason to skip it unless you just feel like you want to do something else. It increases damage potential, increases your healing potential, debuffing potential, and your buffing potential. Its literally a no lose power that only needs 1 additional slot at most. Hard to beat. People can disagree that's fine it's your character. Just how I see it. To that end, while I always take hasten, I feel it's a bit OP. -

This is a big old yikes. "Weasel-wording", really? You're pretty toxic, i don't think Imma interact with you. Disagree with me that Hasten is important on every build all you'd like, but this is just toxic. so to get back on topic with OP's suggestion i may have been too quick to say your suggestion is too complicated, it's really not. I also don't disagree with your changes either. Recharge plays too large a role in too many areas, especially dominators who rely heavily on perma domination in end game to strive.
