Added names in case that's useful.

I was able to get something close by combining tights for the upper legs with "Kung Fu" boots. The only problem is that you're stuck with the Kung Fu sandals as "shoes." (So, on the topic of the thread, I'd like to be able to choose bare lower legs with different sorts of shoes.) That's Mediocre Fred. He started out as a Smothers Brothers homage (his fighting form is a werewolf), but since "Fred" is also a term for a certain kind of biker, I made the above costume for his human form. The bike jersey is a Malaise pattern on tights, the bike helmet is a Freedom Corps helmet (unfortunately, I couldn't make safety yellow work with that piece), and the messenger bag is the Money Bag backpack.

This is great—and what should go in the “Details” tab of each power, IMO.

If the test was, “How many responses will I get to a post asking people to ignore it,” I’d say it has been answered.

Wow. That's...astounding. Well done, I guess? ;)

You just made me realize what's so awful about KM/Regen in particular: it's a pairing of a click-heavy secondary (regen) with a really slow primary (KM). So you have to fit those regen clicks in between really slow KM animations, and the whole experience is incredibly frustrating. OTOH, I guess those slow attack animations create plenty of time to decide which regen power to click next. If you ever wanted CoX to be a turn-based strategy game, KM/Regen is for you! As long as you don't mind that everyone else, including your enemies, are playing it as a real-time game.

I've played a few combos that didn't work well together: Assault Rifle/Invulnerability Sentinel (I didn't quite realize just how many problems that build has until I noticed it was easier to cap resists on a defender, fer crying out loud), Sonic/Kinetic Corruptor (only later did I realize that a Kin/Sonic Defender is better in nearly every way), and a Beam Rifle/Mental Blaster. But there's only one powerset combo I've tried that's so bad that I'd rather go clean the bathroom than play it again: Kin/Regen Brute. Kin is cheesy and slow, and regen is...well, regen. There's nothing about that combo to recommend it, IMO. And yes, I realize that many would consider "anything with Kinetic Melee in it" also to be a valid answer.
-
I made a BR/Mental blaster purely on character theme. And, like a lot of theme builds I've tried, this powerset combo is turning out not so great. BR wants to be ranged, Mental seems mostly about the melee, it's very clicky and busy, and there don't seem to be any natural synergies. Before I abandon the alt entirely, is there anything I should be trying with this combo to make it fun—or at least usable? Should I just take three or four of the BR powers, use secondaries and IOs to build up melee defense, and lean into the Mental blappage? I did find this post on the Mental secondary, which is a great help, but any advice on making it work with Beam (if that's even possible) would be welcome:

Ahhh! That makes sense. I didn't even think of Mr. Green Jeans having a bunch of little Green Jeanses, at least one of whom would have seen robotics as a way to move off the farm! (We're way off topic, but I like this topic better than the original, so.)
-
Since the talk about Mr. Green Jeans started when I posted my Capt. Kangaroo character, so did I. :) (Thus the "joke"—barely worthy of the name—about Kangaroo's friend Green Jeans apparently switching from farming to robotics and getting gender reassignment somewhere along the way.)
-
Sorry to deadname ol' Green Jeans. Wouldn't 'a thought robotics would be a natural career path for a farmer, but I guess that must have been easy compared to the other transition!
-
Glad to see that Green Jeans got himself educated! Did he go to med school, or get a Ph.D?

To be extra nitpicky, SSA2 is the entire Pandora's Box arc, from Part 1 through Part 5 (as distinguished from SSA1, which is Who Will Die!!!?!?!!11omgpwnies). So the "final mission" of SSA2 would be the last mission in Part 5 of SSA2. I agree that it could be clearer, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's worded "very badly." I'm just glad we're going to be able to have Nemesis Invasion events again.

Ki Push combos so well with Dual Pistols. Go Pistols for speed, Executioner's Shot for style. And always call out "Pull!" when you do it.

It's not quite a spreadsheet, but the unofficial HC Wiki has a page counting all the ingredients needed to get the Field Crafter badge. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Gaining_the_Field_Crafter_Badge The "Table of Salvage Requirements by Crafted Enhancement Level" should be easy enough to export into a spreadsheet if that works better for you.

Can we post self-congratulatory milestone screenshots?
Zhym replied to EmperorSteele's topic in Badges
Halloween (and finally testing and publishing an AE arc) just put me over the top of 1,500. I still need the Winter Event badges, but I'll probably stop short of trying to get all of 1,550 (most of the arena badges and the PvP defeats badges just aren't happening). -
Slay Ride (villains only)
-
Yup! See the patch notes here: AFAIK, it's not global. Previous Winter Event login badges back in the live days are available from the Candy Keeper for purchase (with candy canes), so I'm guessing (hoping?) that Snowbound will also be available from the Candy Keeper when the 2021 Winter Event rolls around.
-
Is April 2020 still the last time this event happened? I assume there aren't any other ways to get this badge (like the giant monster fests after costume contests)?
-
"Reemergent" ETA: That's more of an anniversary badge title (where it has connotations of both CoX reemerging and players reemerging from the pandemic). For the Winter Event, how about: "No Longer Home Alone"

Vague bug report - have you had DE trees show up in Croatoa?
Zhym replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Plenty of DE in Croatoa. I think they tend to hang out on Sally's beach, for example. -
That's what Mr. G claims in the Inside Information mission: So Mr. G is Doppelganger,* who is the Praetorian version of Protean. Mr. G's character model looks a lot like the model for Agent G, through, and early on, Praetoria was all about the alternate version of characters in parallel universes thing, so I think it makes sense that Mr. G was originally intended as a Praetorian version of Mr. G. Many issues later, when the fall of Praetoria storyline came around, the devs made Mr. G "Doppelganger." To further complicate things, Mr. G, as "Doppelganger," had been working with the actual (Primal Earth) Protean. I don't recall having ever heard of Doppelganger before Mr. G says the name, although it does appear in the lore, at least according to the Wiki (just as Protean killed Manticore's parents—how very Batman—Doppelganger killed Chimera's parents, but then trained him). So, yes, it's clear that at some point, Doppelganger is created as a Praetorian version of Protean. Whether Mr. G was at some point meant to be a Praetorian version of Agent G—well, CoX had lots of Issues (and issues), so it's possible both were meant to be true, at different times? * The wiki, and perhaps the game, can't seem to decide between the spellings "Doppelganger" and "Doppleganger."

I don’t know if this is official, but my headcanon is that Mr. G is the Praetorian version of Agent G. Although Praetorian Mr. G (later) says he is also Doppelganger, who is the Praetorian counterpart to Protean, who as far as I know isn’t Agent G. It’s all very complicated. The St. Martial version of Mr. G is definitely the same one as the Praetorian Mr. G, though. During the fall of Praetoria, you save Mr. G (in the Inside Information tip mission). He relocates to Primal Earth and settles in St. Martial, where the events of his (very good) arc there take place.
