  1. Oh, it wasn't just 'that guy' buying one for 180M. My girlfriend was on one of the early hard mode runs and sold *FOUR* PAP at 200M *EACH*.
  2. Let's see what I have. Fidgety Girl (electric/electric/electric blaster) An inexperienced barista at an upscale coffee shop, Jennifer Burke was involved in a tragic accident involving a new, experimental espresso machine. Now, her body infused with caffeine and electricity, she is constantly on the prowl for criminal activity. They say crime never sleeps. Well, neither does Fidgety Girl! Fists of Furry Fury (SR/street justice tanker) Misty was an outdoor cat. She could never stay cooped up in the house. She had to go places! She had to do things! She had to see everything! One of the things she saw was bad people. They were mean to animals and they were mean to each other. Every night, she dreamt that some day she would be able to do something about it. They say that if enough cats dream something, it will come true. Maybe if just one cat dreams something long enough..... Unarmed Wombat (MA/SR scrapper) Jack Tyler was hiking in the Rocky Mountains when he was abducted by the Council and subjected to bizarre experiments intended to create a new type of killer to complement their warwolves and vampires. Jack was able to escape from the lab and was befriended and raised by a community of wombats (how these Australian marsupials ended up in North America is a story for another time). Now he fights all forms of evil, but especially those that despoil or defy nature. Lord Footloose (Soldier of Arachnos crab spider) You know, Lord Recluse would have a much better image if he had a funkier name and knew how to unwind. At least that's what his little brother Gustav would always tell people. Stefan eventually had enough of his brothers shenanigans and told him he wanted him in Arachnos, where he could keep an eye on him. Gus could handle that. He even decided to get those silly crab legs to look more like his big brother. But Gus is going to show him how to do it WITH STYLE! Where is there a party? Let's boogie! Mr. Shouty (sonic/sonic defender who only talks in all caps) SO I WAS ALWAYS THE LOUD ONE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP. I'M OKAY WITH THAT. I'VE LEARNED TO LIVE WITH IT AND I'VE LEARNED TO USE IT AS A HERO. MY DAUGHTER CAME UP WITH MY HERO NAME. SO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY WISECRACKS ABOUT IT OR YOU'LL GET AN EARFUL!!! I had all of these back on live and have only recreated Fidgety Girl and Mr. Shouty on Homecoming. Feel free to use the other names if they amuse you.
  3. The names are all homages to The Wacky Races. Slag - Rock and Gravel Slag - two cavemen in a stone car Gruesome - the Gruesome Twosome Blast - Sergeant Blast who drove a tank Ruffcut - Rufus Ruffcut, who was a lumberjack and drove a car with circular saws for wheels Ant - the Ant Hill Gang - bunch of really short mobsters Blubber - Lazy Luke and Blubber Bear Dastard - Dick Dastardly Edit: FYI, I was able to remember all but two of those. I had to look up Blast and Ruffcut.
  4. Who says it's piloted by humans? You could fit an entire team of hamsters in the head.
  5. Well, if you like non-stealthed task forces, I would recommend the popular "money-bags ITF" - i.e. run it at +4 (not four stars) and kill pretty much everything in sight. Pretty fast and easy and it's good money and fun.
  6. Ironblade

    Poor guy

I think so. I see plenty of items where four of the recent sales are in a tight range like 3.8M to 4.3M and then one was sold for 10M.
  7. Then you're doing it wrong. I mean, why are we on the forums if not to pwn some n00bs? 😛
  8. And on the other weekends, you work at a soup kitchen so it all balances out, right? Ah. Currently, difficulty setting ramps up with the star rating. So, 1-star is +1 level (or higher, if you want) and 2-star is +2 (again, higher if you choose).
  9. Pro tip. Recruit secretly. I got all of them on my scrapper by having my girlfriend log in a tank and I logged in my rad defender on my second account. We mentioned what we were doing to some friends on Discord and couple more came along with their badgers. We had all of one alignment in under 30 minutes then switched alignments and got the rest of them.
  10. In my opinion, not everyone who engages in PvP is a 'real PvP'er'. There are real PvP'ers and there are bullies/gankers/morons. It's the morons who trash talk. It's the morons who kill you repeatedly just to be annoying. It's the morons who camp. In my time collecting badges in PvP zones, I've run into plenty of both. The morons behave like stupid children. The real PvP'ers will politely wipe the floor with you and then, if you ask, discuss your build and tactics. Sometimes I even win. I remember beating one PvP'er and he commented that he didn't know I PvP'ed (I knew him from the forums). I said that I didn't and that I was only there for the badges. He said something like, "Wow, nice fight, then. I'll leave you to it." That's a real PvP'er. The toxic morons in the PvP zones are just toxic morons no matter where you run into them.
  11. I do check their global, but don't invite until they say so for two reasons: 1) The reason you stated - they could be using the LFG to teleport to the contact. 2) They might be checking multiple characters to see if they have one who needs the badge.
  12. Let's see. I believe the cost is just over 12 million inf (10M for the team transporter, 1M each for the mission TP and base TP, some jet pack charges and a bunch of free stuff). Picking AT, powersets and name are all done before I log in, so zero time. I don't sit down and plan to create a character. When I randomly think of something I'd like to play, then I go make it. The only time-consuming part is the costume. I did one yesterday that took under 10 minutes, but that's unusual. I don't think I've ever taken more than an hour, though. Setting up UI, chat window, etc - seconds. I'm a big fan of keybinds so this stuff takes as long as it takes to me type the command to load my main keybind file. From that file, I load other keybinds. Getting my P2W stuff, under 2 minutes since I've done it many times before. Running around Atlas Park to get the exploration accolade and unlock the Long Range Teleporter, then smack some dudes on the way back to the trainer - 3 or 4 minutes. Then train to level 2. So, we're looking at 7-8 minutes plus the costume creation, which varies greatly.
  13. OMG I have never heard or thought of that. Is there a secret handshake to go with the password? 🙂
  14. No idea what you're talking about there. Nothing is locked at +4 unless you're talking about a 4-star Imperious or Aeon - and that is a 100% optional setting.
  15. Ironblade

    Converters!

I don't buy them any more. I play Ironblade enough that he keeps approaching 10,000 Reward Merits so, every so often, I buy 3,000 converters and give them to my marketeering character.
  16. He has a name, you know. FYI, it's Milburn Pennybags. (I'm not joking.)
  17. Yep. Ironblade was my main, my global name and my forum name back on live. Now, it continues to be all of those things, plus I have an Ironblade on every shard.
  18. To be fair, any time you join a team that someone else forms, you're playing THEIR way (or they don't invite you, or kick you, or whatever).
  19. Yes, that lone Contaminated was pretty much a slap in the face. So people complained long and loud, and now anyone can get the badge easily via Ouroboros. I think they started with that low 2% rate because starting higher and later lowering it would lead to all kinds of screaming for a long time. But starting low and raising it later just has people screaming for a short time. So, my guess is that it will get increased, or other ways of earning Aether will be added.
  20. Firstly, let me qualify my response by noting that I run tons of task forces but pretty much nothing that requires a league - so I'm dealing with a smaller number of such replies and a smaller number of people to invite. When someone sends me a tell that they're going to switch, I click their name to bring up the context menu and get their global name. That way, when I later get a tell saying 'ready for invite', I can check the global and make sure I have the right person. Until they get back, I hold their spot and will announce 'Team full' once we have seven others and tell the team that our last person is switching. Off the top of my head, I would estimate that I get one such reply for most task forces I run - a little more than half the time. Occasionally there are none. Occasionally there are two. I don't remember every having three such replies but it's possible. Since I normally check the global name of everyone I team with (I have a keybind for this), it doesn't feel too burdensome to handle this. If I were running a league of 16, I think this would still be manageable. For a league of 24, I don't know. I probably wouldn't even try. So, to be consistent, I might not even try for leagues of 16. I know you run iTrials on a regular basis and you're not a jerk about it, so I would say figure out a solution that works for YOU and people will adjust to it.
  21. Yep. I actually do it slightly differently. I get the prestige sprints and put the stealth IO in one of those for two reasons: 1) There's a visible aura around me to remind me I'm stealthed. 2) I can use sprint without being stealthed. Regarding the Concealment Pool, here's one important thing - these powers take defense buff IO's. On non-defense armor characters where I need the recharge, I'll get two or three of the concealment powers to mule Luck of the Gambler +recharge. On characters where I'm on the fence about taking a concealment power, being able to drop that LotG in there is often the deciding factor.
  22. Firstly, I like Pop-Tarts and am literally eating pizza right now. Don't judge me! I don't eat Pop-Tarts more than once a week, though. As for gaming, back during live this was the only online game I played and, some weeks, I would spend more time playing than I spent at work (40 hours). I don't play as much now because, when the game shut down, I diversified into other games. But I've been gaming in one form or another since I started with Dungeons and Dragons in 1979. I don't have a problem with how much I game because it's a social activity and makes me think. I hardly watch any television or movies but my Steam library has 64 games in it. Of those, all but FIVE are multiplayer co-op. Of the five that aren't, I haven't even installed three of them. Ever play Borderlands 3? There's a rocket launcher you can get called the Porta Pooper 5000. The projectiles look like poop and the gun talks. You can guess what kind of lines it has.
  23. As fellow players, we can't actually help. The best we can do is guess at possible issues. Top ones are: Are you sure you had the 50's on Homecoming and not one of the other servers? Did you have multiple accounts and log into the wrong one? And Luminara's suggestion - checking the other pages to see if they're not where you expected them. If it's not any of those things, there is nothing we can do. You would need to contact tech support. There's a thread in this section that deals with contacting them thru Discord and also how to file a support ticket online. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/17167-help-support-read-this-first-to-save-yourself-some-time/
