  1. This. SR is a good set. Really good set. Dark Melee? In terms of performance? Not so much. Not to say it isn't a lot of fun (easily one of my favs), but if you can't ignore performance, it does not have it.
  2. As someone that actually really likes to drop pylons, I agree with this big time. Granted, it IS an indicator of what to expect when doing other stuff. I have zero builds made just for dropping pylons, so if I drop a pylon and the AT/combo doesn't do that well in regular missions...I want my time back.
  3. I have a WM/SD and very much like it. I put the ATO2 in Clobber. Yes, Clobber is dumb awesome but the proc has the highest chance (I think I'm remembering right?) to go off in that attack so that was my logic with it. Build Up. Clobber. Crowd. Whirling. Ball Lightning. Shield Charge. Mob dead. Bosses low. I've got a Space Marine (Ultra) and steampunk Captain America costume for mine.
  4. I'd like this too, but that is a massive undertaking. I did it with Scrappers only for ST times and that was...a lot. Doing all three ATOs and then doing a full map clear which could range from 3-5 minutes? Yikes. I do not volunteer.
  5. Katana is fast fast fast CHONK BS is CHONK CHONK CHONK CHONK Both look awesome. Play to flavor.
  6. It is, but new Trapdoor times aren't viable any more, and I collected times on my scrappers before the changes. I made the brute after. And anecdotally, I can definitely say my scrappers are doing way faster AOE times then my brutes. And that brute I have as an example? A Fire Armor brute. It just can not out pace my scrappers in any damage scenario. Both brute ATOs are pretty crap, with the ATO2 standing out as WTF levels of bad. ATO1? Whats the point? ATO2....really? Were they even trying when they came up with it?
  7. I already had issues with ATO1 for brutes. I didn't need a reminder why it's bad too. 😄
  8. I am crap at articulating what I want to say. With that said, no. I have way to much collected data and more then two decades of play time to agree with this (yes, this includes when the live servers were down). Scrappers do way more than just 30% compared to brutes when both are fully kitted out. Lets's use my fastest recorded average for scrapper and then brute for example. 61s vs 122s. You don't even need to do the numbers to already know that'smore then a 30% difference. But for fun's sake...going to anyways. I'll just keep it really simple and do 61 / 122 = 0.5 That's 50%. No, a Brute will NOT do the same, or edge scrappers out in terms of DPS in long fights, without ATOs. This used to be the case. Hasn't been that way for a long long time.
  9. I don't like the combine brute/tanker idea, but that's just an opinion. Now...give Brutes the VEAT treatment...I feel like this is going somewhere. The HEAT/VEAT treatment minus the BS voids. Like how defenders do more DMG solo then when teamed. Maybe more/less resistant and more/less damage as there are more members of the team? For each member boost their max HP AND give them full max HP? Whereas solo they have the current max HP and their HP hasn't moved past accolades/bonus etc.? And a noticeable DMG % difference when solo and it slides to less and less via each member on the team? I like where your idea is at and I'm thinking it could go places. Or make the ATO2 not hot garbage and make it do that or something similar. My other idea for ATO2 to not be hot garbage is for it to have a chance to proc a shield that reflects all damage back for X amount of time. It would boost survivability AND damage. Obviously, this could very much favor resistance based sets, but when it procs on a defense based brute it would be god mode.
  10. Broad Sword is a cool primary. Fire is a cool secondary. I imagine the two have good synergy for deleting things.
  11. I haven't used it as a revive yet, just as a massive heal so far.
  12. After playing around with it more, I totally have to agree on this now. It's almost as mandatory as Meltdown in Rad Armor to me.
  13. No, it is not a good power. Does it have the most burst/frontloaded in the set? Yes. Does it have a higher then normal crit chance? Also yes. Does this make it good? No. It has a really long animation time for the DPS. So, I don't think it is. The animation looks cool, but so many attacks in Claws are fast charging that the ones you really want are more then likely going to be recharged during the animation and waiting.
  14. That's actually a great, almost perfect example of what I am trying to talk about. And I've seen that with this game a LOT. I don't think I've ever kept engaging with someone when they say that one. I don't get it, but when someone says "for my concept" with stuff like auras I can accept that logic. Like it? Nah. That's me. But still, not my meadow and not my unicorn. That one though? Umm...OK. I only have experience with Psi Armor on a Brute. The armor does feel very versatile, that's for sure. I can, and have, definitely been in some situations where I was sweating something came off recharge in time. The set feels like it makes use of multi layered surival methods quite a bit. Aura of Insanity. You take this. It definitely doesn't drain your HP in any way enough that I've noticed. In fact, I don't think there is anything in the set you can skip except for the T9. Which is still good.
  15. I stopped, years ago, trying to reason with people. I've been doing the fitness thing since middle school (elder millenial now...). It's one of the things I've been doing longer then playing this game. I've held world records and helped multiple people achieve world records. I still get people wanting to argue with me that a low protein diet is super optimal for muscle gain and physical performance even after they know what I have achieved. So when someone says they skipped a cornerstone of a set and give reasons as to why, I just shrug my shoulders and move on.
  16. I don't have my tanker/brute builds proc bombed and tankers are still darn close in ST DPS to brutes.
  17. Doing god's work since searching or scrolling is to much.
  18. Curious. By what metric are you justifying this by? I am just seeing people sharing their anecdotal opinions and not gathering any data for themselves. I literally only noticed brutes doing roughly 16% more ST DPS TODAY. That is single target. Tankers still do noticeably better AOE. This isn't even talking about the base AND max HP difference of the two. And the fact tankers have noticeably higher resistance/defense out of the box. Brutes needed love back in 2011. It's 2025 now. The AT was OP and got toned down to far. Tankers stayed relatively the same up until recently then they got massively over tuned. Tankers definitely don't need to be back to what they were, especially considering that genie is now out of the bottle. Brutes need to be tweaked and made relevant again. I say this primarily as a scrapper player. Scrappers just straight up sprint away with DPS when compared to brutes. Brutes, imo, should do that when compared to tankers. This used to be the case. Certainly isn't now.
  19. I definitely do. Yes, it requires the ATO1 proc in an always-on PBAOE aura, but it is possible. Staying above 90 past the duration the temp is on though? HAH! Not a thing. Brutes definitely need love. Make it possible to go to 100% fury and STAY THERE when active, up their damage cap, and adjust the amount Fury contributes to dmg % as it climbs. As of TODAY my ele/tw tanker and tw/ele brute are only 16% different in ST DPS. That isn't factoring in anything else. Considering tankers are STILL the kings of melee AOE and are stupidly survivable...yeah. Still no reason to roll a brute over a tanker if you have the choice. Scrappers and stalkers straight up dog walk brutes in terms of DPS. Tankers say "thats cute" at a brute's survivability. Whoever said that tankers, brutes, and scrappers are interchangeable doesn't know how this game works. Seriously ignorant statement. *I can't think of a decent solution to weaken tankers, but brutes definitely need love. They are supposed to be an in-between of Tankers/Scrappers and they are NOT.
  20. Funny, I myself and normally in the "bring other things up" camp, but I definitely agree...Tankers needed to be toned down. It reminds me of the warranted TW nerf. TW needed it. It was so damn OP that it made other sets just feel pointless to play.
  21. I don't think a Brute ATO would ever be balanced to turn the AT in to a Tanker.
  22. I can't comment about Psi Armor on Scrappers, since I only have experience with it on a Brute so far, but...it's really strong. It's not as damaging as other secondaries, but it has some really cool tools at its disposal. Overall, the set feels like a very solid win. I can definitely recommend it. When all three OH SHIs get pooped your HP/s can get really damn high. Surprisingly high. To the point the HP/s it gets up to actually matters. Aura of Insanity's HP drain isn't high enough to really worry me in practice, whereas it was before when I read about it. The PBAOE aura is actually really cool. The set makes use of the new Adaptive Recharge mechanic really well. To the point I wish it would get used with older sets who could greatly benefit from it (looking at you Dark Melee's Soul Drain...).
  23. Not just you. The set is pretty hard to get down for it's most optimal performance. If you do, even then, it won't exactly light your fires. It goes from bad to "this isn't horrible". I won't lie. If the set doesn't click for you after Conc Strike...it just isn't going to. Can the set be super satisfying when things align? Oh yea. They can. But the steady prod of it...it's a lot of plink plink plink VAAAAAAAWOOOOOOOSSHHHHH plink plink plink and oh hey the really weird BU power is up again.
  24. Tankers got a really good ATO1. That is a stand out one to me for being really good for the classes "role". I really can't think of other ATOs that are as notoriously crap as Brute's ATO2. Brute's didn't get a good ATO1, but wow....that ATO2 is something else levels of garbage. The idea I'd have for the Brute ATO2 would be it has a chance to proc deflection. It would mitigate incoming damage and boost outcoming damage.
  25. I'm leveling a TW/Psi Brute right now and I have ZERO clue how to slot the non-armor powers in it. So I'm very curious how this will go.
