Would you say that nudges them past the pure resist sets?

OP mentioned Fire Armor changes… do you feel they’ve been a net positive for Brutes/Tankers?

I think he means layered as in they offer both defense and resists.

Saw this posted on Reddit. I know there was a “Tank Gods” thread a while back where some of the OG’s @Hyperstrike @Infinitum @Linea @Warboss @Werner and @Sovera broke it down. Definitely a lot of good options, and you laid out a few. I have a Dark Armor/Staff myself that is low damage, but definitely survivable. Rad Armor/Dark Melee also seems like it’d be pretty unkillable, at least on paper. Haven’t leveled one myself.

Ill/Dark is one of those combos that can do crazy things in this game! And I agree with you: hard to beat Lightning Rod for pure superpower “feel” in this game haha. My current too COOL hero is my KM/Ice Armor (pun intended) Stalker.

I’m slow leveling a Water/Regen myself. Seems very synergistic and sturdy, but honestly I’m a bit all over the place with my build. I know there are some in this thread, but does anyone have an updated build they’d like to share? Would love to use something as a base.

This has been my favorite Brute combo as well. The DOTS are just so synergistic. I’ve liked it so much, I’m thinking of running a similar combo of Savage/Elec.

SOLID, huh? I see what you did there 😉 haha honestly, Seismic/Dark seems like a cool concept. You could use crystal forms and make them all dark, like hard shadows.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Multiple colds with a Thermal/Elec/Kin seem to be more of the meta. I think Time is more of a Force Multiplier

Nice. Looking at maybe a Water/Dark or Fire/Dark Corruptor myself. Soul Noir effects just too nice 😂

Dark seems like it might be a good Jack of all trades. What are you planning on pairing with Elec?

I’m building one of these myself. I love that it’s an “in your face” Defender. At the same time, puts it in a bit more danger. Have you tried it in any of the new Hard Mode content?

Have a Time/Rad Defender I’m messing around with. Might give him a shot at it once he’s built out.

How does Time Manipulation fair in these HM content? I feel like the huge +Def it brings could be a boon for any team.

Thanks for this! I do hear Darkness Affinity controllers can do crazy things. /Dark on Corruptors seems like it has a super nice bag of tricks. Water/Dark seems to double down on the sturdiness of it all. Fire/Dark does seem really synergistic…. I just almost feel like, if I ever run a Fire Corruptor, it might be a Fire/Kin. I hear those things are a force of nature lol

I have a /Cold Corruptor, have been looking at /Dark on SOMETHING (perhaps a Corruptor, maybe Dom/Controller). For a Corruptor, what are some primaries you’d suggest to pair with Dark? I was looking at both Water Blast and Fire.

I’ve had a similar question. I honestly have no idea what archetype Seismic Blast shines on. I’ve heard Sentinel and Defender, but I’m not sure the reasoning.

I do love me some Corruptors. For me, the question is more so between Corruptors and Defenders. I think a team of 8 Corruptors will beat a team of 8 Defenders. In a more well rounded team doing HM content, a Defender might surpass a Corruptor. This can also largely depend on powerset though. Cold Domination or Kin? I’d probably pick a Corruptor every time. For the others, I might lean Defender for their higher values.

You have an updated version of your DM/Shield? Do you take Touch of Fear?

After reading through some other threads…. I think I’m leaning Ice Armor. I haven’t done Ice Armor before, but it seems really amazing on Stalkers. The -Def stacking with KM’s -Def is just kind of ICING on top of the cake (pun intended).

True about the DDR. I guess you’d have to lean on incarnates for that. At least it seems like you can get really solid resists with Ice Armor as well. Very layered.
