  1. I'm devloping a Superman type hero TANKER and I want to go with either Invuln or Rad (I can make Rad work as Solar Energy :P). I'm just curious though: Between Rad Armor and Invuln, which do you feel is the absolute toughest for most endgame content? How I see it so far: Invuln: + Solid resists across the board. Psi hole can be plugged with impervium armors. + Easier to cap some defenses than on Rad. + Good DDR to stop defense failure. - Very little endurance management (can be fixed with IO's) - No damage added (PBAOE moves) Rad Armor: + Very strong resists across the board. Only hole is cold, which is a rare damage type. + Built in heal and absorb for some extra tankiness. + 2 PBAOE moves (one provides -regen to enemies). - Tougher to cap defenses on Rad. Other than Melee/lethal, you'll mostly be a full resist set. - Little DDR, so those defenses you do have can crack easier. Does anyone have experience with both in endgame content? I know this is a real Sophie's Choice 😂 any big factors that I'm leaving out?
  2. Appreciate this man! Staff seems like it can be a pretty fun set overall on a Stalker.
  3. Enjoy man! Don't get discouraged early on with either of those sets. Both blossom later on with proper IO investment, imo.
  4. Not to hijack, but I've been playing your Fire/Ice Tanker and it's still *CHEF'S KISS*. Can't wait for the Ice Patch buffs.
  5. Psi/EA Stalker seems like it could be a beast of a combo.
  6. Absolutely, any of those combos can work on a tanker. I think we were just pointing out some pairs that might be more OPTIMAL on another. I would agree that Dark/, Rad/ and Fire/ paired with claws would be most optimal on a tanker. Credit to Dark/Claws being super Edgelord.
  7. Absolutely man, you feel like a blender with this combo 😂 Just feels right on a Brute as well, with the fury just ramping everything up.
  8. All of these can be AWESOME pairings on a Tanker, and I'm sure you'll have a blast on whatever you roll. That being said, we can look at it through a lends of where some of the pairings MAY be more optimal on another Archetype, and maybe funnel down the options a bit for a Tanker! Claws/Bio is a combo I feel REALLY shines on a Scrapper, with the extra +dmg Bio gives. @Sovera has spoken about this combo in the past. Claws/Elec (CEBR) is a historically strong combo on Brutes. Many people used to do S/L farms with them! @Infinitum and @Hyperstrike both have amazing builds for this combo floating around the forums. That leaves Dark/Claws, Rad/Claws and Fire/Claws. @Sovera developed the original "Brunker" build with the Fire/Claws combo. It is still very strong, I'm sure. While I don't have either combined with claws, I have a Dark/Staff and a Rad/DB Tanker. Both are amazing. My dark does require Cardiac Alpha in order to deal with endurance, just as a heads up. Rad basically suffers from no endurance issues.
  9. Thanks man, I'll read through it! So if I don't mind the redraw, get a snipe in my epic you mean? Seriously though, can they remove redraw from Staff? 😂 Not sure why they leave it there and take it away everywhere else. Must be SOME reason.
  10. Nice man! I've always run invuln on Tankers and shied away from it on Scrappers/Stalkers due to lower resist caps... BUT I've been hearing that it is actually quite good on stalkers. It apparently doesn't give up much in the transition to them, power wise. Some say you're able to soft cap most defenses and most resists? Sounds pretty nice when you add in Guarded spin and the need to not really click anything other than Dull Pain.
  11. Nice man! Yeah, I love the "gets it done" approach as well 😛 I bet playing the Staff/Regen brute is like a dance 😂Do you have a build for your staff/bio by chance?
  12. Nice! Do you ever find Bio's "click" powers to get in the way with Staff and it's redraw? I guess Carapace wouldn't be an issue since you cast it BEFORE you fight, but I could see DNA Siphon or Parasitic Aura being in it. But I guess, if you're procing Build Up, you're pulling your weapon out anyways. And how are he TF's with /Bio? I know Bio is great, but I know some people don't like it for solo TF's due to it being weak to defense debuffs (gotta love Cims =P)
  13. You know, I leveled with it and respec’d out at 50, thinking I could used Vorpal judgement as an AOE replacement... mistake on my part 😂 I love how you proc’d out some of the bigger hitters a bit in this build.
  14. Awesome breakdown man. I always thought of Street Justice as kind of MA’s sexier cousin 😂 love the animations. I ran StJ/Bio as a scrapper myself. Had the same optimal attack chain of RC, SB, RC, CU. Didn’t take spinning strike and I DO miss the AOE. Destroys single targets fast, but doesn’t do much in mobs. Would love to see your final build when you have it! Would be great to work in spinning strike, especially since Tanker’s actually make good use of it. I’m sure the damage is pretty dang good as well.
  15. Great suggestion! I’m an FA believer. My only fear is that it is too “clicky” of an armor set when paired with Staff (mandatory redraw).
  16. Hi all! So one of my absolute favorite heroes that I have made is my Dark Armor/Staff Fighting Tanker. Staff Fighting I feel works great on a Tanker, with the extra defense and resistance ratios they get. He is pretty much an unkillable beast. That being said, I’ve enjoyed Staff Fighting so much, I want to roll another. Stalker stuck out to me since they retain Staff’s AOE, but ALSO bring some nice single target damage. I’m curious if anyone has experience as a Staff Stalker, and what secondary they may recommend! I was looking at: Staff/Nin: Because Ninja. I also hear Nin is easy to soft cap and only requires a few power choices, so it opens up build diversity. Staff/Bio: 25% damage from staff and damage boost from Offensive stance seems like it could HURT. Plus, it’s a a hybrid defense, so good options. Staff/Elec: Staff might make sense with a resistance set on a stalker. Mostly due to the defense it gets from guarded spin. Staff/Ice Armor: Ice seems to be a fairly robust set, and I don’t see it too often. Could be more of an original choice. Staff/Willpower: I hear Willpower is a very “set and forget” defensive set. That could be a bonus for Staff, since it is one of the sets where you HAVE to deal with redraw. Not really having to click anything (other than the heal) could be nice. Any other recommendations would be great!
  17. This is phenominal Sai, thank you so much! The -res enhances in Ablating and Beta Decay are huge as well, I'm sure.
  18. Extremely accurate, considering only so many can attack him at a time since even Jet can't break the aggro cap.
  19. HE HAS THE POWWWWWEEEEEERRRR!
  20. You’re the hero we need, Hyper.
  21. Hi all, So I’ve been leveling a Rad/DB Tanker and having a good time. I originally shied away from using Dual Blades because of the combo system, but I’ve found an attack string that works for me with Blinding Feint - Ablating - Vengeful Slice - Sweeping Strike. However, I haven’t found many sample builds for this combo anywhere on the forums. I was curious if anyone had a build they’d be willing to share or could answer some questions: 1. As a Tanker, should I be grabbing Typhon’s edge for it’s increased AOE? I don’t feel it falls into my optimal attack chain, but I guess it’s good to have to throw out there when needed. 2. Any suggestions on where to put the Tanker ATO procs? I usually drop MOTT in my damage aura, but Rad only has Beta Decay and it’s a one slot wonder (and also doesn’t do dmg lol). Any suggestions where Might of the Tanker and Gauntlet could go? 3. I currently only have one slot in Nimble Slash... if’s the first power you are forced to take and I opted to used the extra slots in order to 6 slot other things. Am I making a mistake? Thanks in advance for the help/advice!
  22. My man Hyperstrike over here preachin
  23. I just about spit out my drink Erratic... mostly because this is so true 😂
  24. Seems like a great combo! I started my first Rad Armor Tanker the other day: Rad/Dual Blades. Tons of fun so far. I LOVE SS though, and I can see some really good synergy between Rad/SS.
