Hi all, So I’ve been leveling a Rad/DB Tanker and having a good time. I originally shied away from using Dual Blades because of the combo system, but I’ve found an attack string that works for me with Blinding Feint - Ablating - Vengeful Slice - Sweeping Strike. However, I haven’t found many sample builds for this combo anywhere on the forums. I was curious if anyone had a build they’d be willing to share or could answer some questions: 1. As a Tanker, should I be grabbing Typhon’s edge for it’s increased AOE? I don’t feel it falls into my optimal attack chain, but I guess it’s good to have to throw out there when needed. 2. Any suggestions on where to put the Tanker ATO procs? I usually drop MOTT in my damage aura, but Rad only has Beta Decay and it’s a one slot wonder (and also doesn’t do dmg lol). Any suggestions where Might of the Tanker and Gauntlet could go? 3. I currently only have one slot in Nimble Slash... if’s the first power you are forced to take and I opted to used the extra slots in order to 6 slot other things. Am I making a mistake? Seems like a great combo! I started my first Rad Armor Tanker the other day: Rad/Dual Blades. Tons of fun so far. I LOVE SS though, and I can see some really good synergy between Rad/SS.

Good to know! On a scrapper/tanker/brute (I know it's different for a Stalker with AS), what would you say are the optimal attack strings with high recharge?

Oh for sure, just always interested in what might succeed in different arenas in the game! Dark is fun nonetheless. If we were just talking about Hami Raids, it and Regen would be kings haha. I do agree that Invuln and Shield do seem the most well rounded, in my experience. I also do think I have it in me to run a Stone tanker 😂😂😂

I agree with all these points (even though I really like both DA and Bio). In any case, which sets do you think stand up most comfortably against it all? Standard Invuln framework? Fire (no bias of course 😉 , and they can’t kill you if they’re dead, right?)? Maybe Rad, since it’s only really gaping hole is Cold?

Necroing this @Infinitum post because it was fun to read through and I LOVE TANKERS. So far, my 3 most FUN tankers have been: Dark/Staff - Super synergy. Love how robust DA is as a set, and Staff is just a ton of fun to build Perfection with and hold Aggro. Shield/Elec - You want to feel like a God of Thunder, right? Invuln/EM - Feels like a straight upgrade to my Invuln/SS after the EM changes. This is Superman after training in the sun =P Currently leveling a Fire/Ice Tanker and having a blast, so that might hop up the list. SUPER interested in running a Rad Tanker as well. Maybe Rad/Kat or Rad/Sav? Would love to hear some more cool/fun combos!

To clarify, you like the Fire/Ice, correct? I’m interested in that combo.

Looking at Dual Blades on a scrapper. Would you say Dual Blades/EA is as effective there? Was also looking at pairing Dual blades with either /Nin or /Rad. Jedi themed hero, so I feel I could make any of those secondaries work =P

Hi heroes (and villians :P)! I'm interested in Psi Melee/Energy Aura as a power set combo. They seem to match together pretty well thematically. However, I'm having trouble deciding which archetype to try it on: Scrappers or Stalkers? Does anyone have any experience with this combo on either archetype and could give me some insight? Thanks!

+1 to all these points. I love my Dark Armor/Staff Tanker, and I just 50’d a Psi Melee/Rad Armor Brute. Now you have me wanting to combine the two 😂

That's true. It seems like if I want to be generally safer, I would go Dark Blast. If I want to do a surprising amount of damage, go Rad. I know Procs are all the rage these days 😂

Nice! I hear sonic matches well. I also hear it shines more the larger team you are on? Slotting -res into Rad Blast sounds nice, but seems like it could just be a poor man's Sonic Blast. But I guess you'd be getting the -Def and -Res.

There is also Sonic Blast. I hear it’s a good combo, but is more effective with larger teams. I’m not a HUGE fan of the animations, although it’s not so bad if you do the alt hand animations haha

Hi all! I usually team with 2 buddies, and none of us roll a Defender/support style hero 😂 I've decided I'd be the first. After reading over the primaries, I've settled on Radiation Emission. I feel it has a nice mix of supportive skills, as well as some powers that will help us take down tougher targets. I'm a little stuck on which primary to choose. Leaning towards either Radiation blast (Laser beams from my eyes? Cool irradiate animation? yes please) and Dark Blast (Soul Noir FTW). Obviously, I think both look amazing! Being that this is my first defender, I'd thought I'd check in with the heroes on here and see if anyone had any recommendations! Does either synergize better with Rad Emission? Are there any quirks between the combos I should be aware of? Sample builds? Thanks in advance all!

Haha true, but that is pretty much true for anything that is non regen or Dark Armor, right? =P

Haha very true 😂 on the flip side, sometimes you have a team that just LeRoy Jenkins it and you have to hold down the fort until they all come back 😂 My Invuln/EM can just stand there, as you say. My Dark Armor/Staff can as well, I just look like I’m breakdancing the whole time 😉
