Focused Feedback: Powerset - Plant Control
mistagoat replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Yeah, not useless but imo, nerfed into pointless territory. Pre-massive-nerf I could confuse the whole mob, post-massive-nerf I can confuse half the mob and get alpha'd to death by the other half. Seeds was the opener, the Flashfire/Stalagmites of the set, the thing that negates the majority of the alpha so you can do other things. It's efficacy is in the toilet now. I get that it needed some adjustment but this is massively overstepping. Taking from top tier to bottom tier feels punitive. RIP Plant... -

Targets reduced to 10 means it's useless against x8 mobs without the CC proc to extend its functionality. This means it's shit for anyone under level 50. -

This burnt me back when I started on HC! I wasted so much time and inf crafting all that crap to get the crafting station on my main crafter. Would have been so much cheaper and easier to just buy the crafting station for 10 million! I do get some use out of the memorization but only for the lvl 35 and lvl 50 recipes, the rest was a complete waste...

Healing Set: The Power Paradox
mistagoat replied to Canadian Anvil's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think you may have misunderstood my point. It's specifically the 2pc recharge set bonus that is too strong. A 2pc recharge set bonus is only available in a couple ATO sets, I don't expect that to change. A 2pc Gladiators Javelin only offers a 2.5% recovery bonus, that's a nice bonus but not nearly as powerful or game changing as a 2pc 5% recharge bonus that one could stack 5 times to get 25% recharge for the low investment of 5 slots. Swapping the 2pc bonus and the 5pc bonus puts it in line with other sets. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to build with that, I just don't think the Devs would let that stand. Otherwise, aside for the low accuracy, I'm for the set. -
I'm not really familiar with Beam but I have 3 SR Sentinels. SR is pretty easy to level but choosing when to select your powers can be tough. It's always a balance between beefing up damage vs beefing up survivability. I also find Sentinel builds to be among the tightest when it comes to slotting. This Electric/SR has become my favorite Sent and it has Hover + Mystic Flight (I love the utility of Translocation, swap for Fly if you like). Build attached, it's a leveling build so no purps or plussed out enhancers. You just have to swap out Elec for Beam and adjust. If you take Hover you could probably skip Combat Jumping. I do love me some CJ but it's a bit redundant at that point. Sentinel (Electrical Blast - Super Reflexes - Fire Mastery) pre50 v1.3a Dawnstar.mbd

Healing Set: The Power Paradox

The 2pc set bonus is too strong, you'd just have everyone using 2 pcs of the set x5 for the low cost recharge bonuses. Move that to the 4 or 5 pc bonus and it would be more in line with existing set/bonuses. Maybe swap it with the end discount. Currently only a couple ATO sets get a 2pc recharge bonus. -
I've been on HC since Feb 2021 and the pop feels pretty much same now as it was then. I can fill teams quickly and I can easily join a team if I don't feel like leading. (I'm on Excel 95% of the time) There was a spike for a couple months when HC got the NC Soft nod, other than that it feels like business as usual. I'm old now so I can't stay up till the wee hours of the morning like I did back on live so I can only speak to EST 7am-ish to 11pm-ish.

I gave this a shot over the weekend, I only had 62 badges at the 30 min mark.... I think I leaned to heavily on exploration badges. I'll have to revise my strategy.

Here is my leveling build from a couple months ago. Very fun toon to run up! Cupids Crush baby! I've found that putting the whole set in an AoE like ball lightning offers great utility and set bonuses at an early level. Locking costume/color selections at the Outfit editor
mistagoat replied to Paradox Fate's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like it but I'd spin it a little differently. Instead of locking anything which would require knowing under which subheading each element that you like resides (not always intuitive) and then clicking a lock button, I'd preferers if each subheading got it's own random button. I picture it working like this: You hit the main all-encompassing random button a few times, this rolls random on every subheading (as it does now) until you find something you half like but it has a neon green wolf head (for example). Then you go to the "head" subheading and click random a few times, this rolls random on all the "head" subheadings (face, hair, ears, ect). Now you have a half decent head but it has exposed brain for hair and you don't want exposed brain for hair. Then you go to the "hair" subheading and hit random a few times until you find a fresh cut you like. "Hair" has no other subheadings so it would only roll random on that 1 element. This would allow for more granular control over the random selections. Start with big random and work down to small random until you're happy with the results. -
Dood! You're missin out on all that patrol xp! True, it's not the same as direct xp but it essentially doubles (not sure on the math there, someone will correct me) you're xp gain until it runs out. Especially impactful at the low levels where getting 1 full zone caps or nearly caps your patrol. In my experience it makes a huge difference and I try to grab a couple badges before most mission for that little boost. They don't give you xp anymore but they still give you xp if ya know what I mean.

I know it was a thing back on live for folks looking for those pricey low level recipes like Miracles or Freebird +stealth (remember when those were highly sought after and stupid expensive?) but I don't know of anyone that still does that anymore. I certainly don't see it advertised in game or even discussed/mentioned here on the forums. It's probably just more efficient to farm at 50 and buy the low level enhancers/recipes off the AH.

Nice work! I'm gonna have to give this a shot this weekend, fun idea! Impressive build but looks a bit pricey... Blarfing is my new favorite word!

A while back, I built a FF/Sonic Defender with the goal of making it as tanky as possible. I got all positional def to softcap and s/l res to hardcap and it had lots of KD and stun. It does not kill fast but that doesn't really matter because it can just chill in the mob for as long as it takes. On top of being pretty tanky it also brings 38% def to teams! I tried making a similar build with a corr but struggled to hit the numbers I was aiming for. It was a fun toon to run up and I've been thinking about doing another one and pairing with a better blast set, maybe Electric. Anyway I don't think FF is bad but it's all survivability buffs, a bit of a one trick pony. Some debuffs or damage buffs would be nice in there but I suspect it's one trick would be nerfed pretty hard if they diversified FFs buffs/debuffs. In its current state I think it shines in the low to mid level range where folks are still filling out their def/res.

Lol, just click like a lunatic as fast as you can, you don't have to wait for the animation or message. When it happens (at least in my experience) it's instant death, not the little dot damage he does. However, I remember reading a post here that claimed that Sentinel Invul had some interaction that prevented Blarf from consuming them. That poster resolved it by using the "disable all powers" button available from the START vendor so maybe give that a shot if nothing else works. Oh no! Time for a dip into your Scrooge McDuck style blood bin to replenish!

This little goofball! I believe he was originally created to test the something that was eventually used in the Labyrinth. Maybe it was the follow or tracking ability, I forget. Anyway hes right behind Null's van and if you click him once he'll follow you around until someone else clicks him. If you click the hell outta him, rapid fire style, he will eventually eat you. You will die and rez in the hospital and you get a badge for the whole thing. I think he may give you gifts at random clicks as well, maybe just inspirations. One could easily run up to him, click like mad and get the badge in 30 seconds or less.
-
Click the little ooze guy (I forget his name but he follows you around PD if you click him) in Pocked D behind Null until he eats you for another quick badge in Pocket D.

Did everyone forget that Electric Sentinels exist? Get 2 Sents on a team with Thunderous Blast on a sub 30 sec recharge and all blue bars are donezo! They even get an AoE immob at 35 to prevent runners. . I love Electric Blasters but they don't sap as well as Sents mainly due to longer nuke recharge time and Electric trollers are fun too but Thunderous Blast is a massive end drain and -recovery tool that trollers can't access. Sents are the sapping kings of CoH!

It appears to be known issue and the MIDs folks are working on it. I think we're in wait and see mode at the moment. Mids Dischord This may help but folks seem to having mixed results:

Here is mine, I'm at work and don't have access to mids atm to check anything (its probably a leveling build) but I remember it being one of the smoothest toons to level up. My buddy and I leveled a pair up together and boy were they tornados of destruction. Stalker electric shield Sir Kit Interupt.mbd

Electric/Shield Stalkers are AoE monsters. I think that combo is its best self on a Stalker, it doesn't give up any meaningful AoE to get AS like most sets do. In face, getting AS fills in Electrics single target shortcoming. Admittedly that does nothing for Stalkers as a whole as per your suggestion, just offering up a combo that is capable of some sick AoE. As much as I love that combo, it's also a good example of why Stalkers probably shouldn't get more AoE. I have an Elec/Shield Scrapper and a Stalker and there just isn't much reason to play the Scrapper when the Stalker puts out equal AoE and better ST with AS/Placate. If that were true for all melee sets, I don't think there would be much reason to play a Scrap. Speaking for myself, I'm pretty comfortable with Scraps getting the edge in AoE and Stalkers getting the edge in ST and I wouldn't want to upset that balance.

It was pretty recently that I was asking a very similar question. The wise Sent-heads here gave me some great advice and tips on complementary sets and what Mastery sets to take a look at. There is some good Mastery info on the first couple pages on this thread as well as lots of builds to take a look at. Black_Assassin was kind enough to offer up several builds and I ultimately used a slightly modified version of one of their builds to to level up my Elec/Elec Sent. For Fire Mastery, I'd grab the immob (runners are a pain), either Cremate or Char (proc'd out) and Fire Sword Circle. On my last Sent I was tight on power picks so I only got Cages and FSC, no regrets! Sent Mastery melee attacks are quite strong and also are often a good place for a reliable Force Feedback proc (no FF opportunity in fire though, unfortunately)
