Double-post follow-up: I forgot how touching the ending was to this episode. No wonder it's considered one of the top 5 episodes.

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5vhp99 @30:07 "ugh- GAWD!" " . . . exactly how many of these loops have you- . . . have we . . . been through?" "I've ... lost track." "That must be frustrating." "uuuhhhh ... yeah!" "On the other hand, i-i-i-it's kind of an opportunity." "How's that?" "Well think about it: I mean if you know in advance that everything is always going to go back to the way it was, then . . . you could do anything. For as long as you want, without having to worry about consequences." " . . . " " . . . " " . . . excuse me . . . "

Ok, reading through this thread, I'm thinking there are very few things that are truly odd or weird, since so many people seem to be having shared experiences here . . . soooo . . . I don't use Inspirations. I sell them. When I do an Ouroboros Arc or a solo Task/Strike Force, I disable use of Inspirations, so I don't even accidentally click on them. Anyone else?

I wonder if the game staff actually plays
ArchVileTerror replied to Honey Pie 143's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's more likely than you think. -
It was the late 80s/early 90s. Honestly there were worse fashion trends back then. MUCH worse . . .

Any kind of bulletin board system beyond the limit Message of the Day mechanic would be a boon, in my eyes. But . . . how much space would be acceptable to allocate to that? That got me thinking . . . https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/18604-request-for-data-analyses-regarding-bases/

A suggestion ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/17519-text-based-suggestions/ ) in the Suggestions board just got me thinking . . . How many Group Bases are there currently per Shard, and how much data are they using? Are we at risk of hitting critical mass any time soon? What happens when the game surpasses the Group/Base data quota limits? May we have that information data mined and shared, please? Any OuroDev'y members out there able to predict an answer based on their own knowledge of the I24 codebase?

Glad to know! Is the Exit button in the Nav Bar still giving you trouble? Try moving the position of the Nav Bar and then testing again. If the issue persists, I recommend issuing a bug report in the Bug Reports board. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/32-bug-reports/

If that's weird, then I must be SUPER weird, Oubli. . . . like, ok. Maybe I'm already super weird. Therefore I must be . . . Maximum Over-Weird?
-
Aye, Chris. Precisely. That's what I've been getting at for a while now (or at least trying to).

You can change the gender and height of your character only by going to a Surgeon NPC (Trina in the Tiki Lounge of Pocket D counts). Otherwise, Tailors/Facemakers/Trainers can only tweak the facial and body scales.

First thing I usually do when logging in to a client for the first time is open the Friend window and switch to Global, then expand, then extend the Local and Global columns to full, and then sort by Shard. And then open the Super window and sort by Rank.

As a potential workaround and to troubleshoot the issue, please try using the following command after completing your missions: /request_exit_mission 1 https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Requestexitmission_(Slash_Command)

Yeah; to take a break from circling the Endurance issue to extreme exclusion of other points . . . I'll throw another one of my hats in to the ring of: Emphasize the unique mitigation tools, since they're unique. ie: Make the Fear and Stun more effective by improving the rate at which they tick, and allow for low percentile odds of +1 and/or +2 Mag in addition to the blanket Mag 2 Control. Have the -chance- for Lt.s and Bosses to also get Stunned or Feared from time to time, basically. Maybe put -something- in to those Powers to also make them meaningful against things strong than Bosses.

Ran Out of Room: Need More Power Trays
ArchVileTerror replied to MetaVileTerror's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While searching for another post, I came across this old thread. If the idea in https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14927-save-and-load-command-for-power-tray-configuration/ were implemented, that would be "good enough" to also solve this problem. Just saying. -
Except they do not offer the depth of quality of life which the command does. One moment, please. I'll try to track down the official response.
-
Actually, I was thinking that the closet lights would go OUT once you solve the puzzles in them. Standard issue flashlights for all participants, though, just to help avoid liability due to injuries and the like.

So, I notice that suggestions keep popping up in General, rather than the Suggestions board. Sometimes they even have the word "Suggestion" in the title. Can this forum software be programmed to recognize this and issue a pop-up along the lines of "Hey, we see that you may be posting a suggestion. Would you like to have us automatically move it to the appropriate Suggestions board?" . . . just a thought.

Hey, @Noyjitat? Jimmy and I sorta got in to it a while back about "the player's choice" versus "the dev's responsibility to quality." https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14462-could-we-please-get-these-costume-pieces-moved-from-dev-only Basically, I'm on the side of "the player should get to make the decision on what does and doesn't look good for their own character." Jimmy expressed a differing opinion. So, basically . . . short of finding a way to help convince Jimmy (and any other members of the Homecoming Team who hold similar views), I think we might be waiting a long while yet.

uh, reminder to folks who -do- use the base access command . . . if you just exit back out through the regular blue-swirlly portal, you should get spat out at the place you activated the command from (assuming you weren't in an instance when you did so). So! Best practice: Step out of the mission with the Exit button in the Nav Bar. Wait a moment to see if anyone is going to use the Party Bus to the next mission. If not, use the command. If someone -then- announces the intent to Party Bus, just pop back out the way you went in. But also, yes . . . Party Bus Drivers? Please let people know of your intent before the end of the mission, if at all possible. That's helpful for everyone. Especially Ouroboros Portalers, who -can't- go back to the place they portal'd up from. Thanks everyone!

Here's a mechanic that doesn't get played with very often: Maximum Endurance Buff So, say one of the PBAoE Toggles (I'd even venture to say Death Shroud) granted +2.75 Max Endurance for the first target, with an additional +0.25 per target, up to 10 total, for +5 Max Endurance. Half the value would be Enhanceable, for a grand total of approximately +7.475 under standard maximum Enhancing, and+8.18 under Alpha Incarnate. That, in turn, provides additional Recovery in the same way that improved Max HP improves Regeneration. Would that be too powerful? Too weak? It encourages the player to take the extra risk of Aggro'ing enemies to improve their Endurance situation, while playing in to the Set's theme of taking from enemies to give to yourself. It's still a form of resource management, for those players who enjoy that element of the gameplay. It's not simply "here's more Endurance." It's "here's something inherent to the Set which allows you to make a decision on risk versus reward." Also, I didn't see anyone fussing about my can of worms statement, so I'll keep this short (unless anyone wants me to go on a rant): We all seem to say it often enough, but it's still worth reminding ourselves that different people play this game for different reasons. Whether we share their reasons or not, or whether we're even capable of understanding their reasons at all, we would probably do well to at least internalize the knowledge that this game will never be catered to just one of us alone. We should be prepared to make compromises and concessions to help more players feel welcome. That's the mission of Homecoming, after all.

The /enterbasefrompasscode command is on the Devs' radar, and they will fix it when they have something in place to compensate for the lost quality of life improvements which the command offers.

The issue is in the disregard for the inherent power of interactivity in the medium of video games. Stories here do not need to be linear. That's huge. It's something that many writers for traditional media fail to realize when they make the jump to writing for video games. There's a major paradigm shift that generally needs to take place to break authors free from getting trapped under the weight of assumptions borne of the limitations of other media. In other words: Even if we reduced things to only two options (which we don't need to), they never have to be mutually exclusive. The writer just needs to trust the audience to help them make the concessions to allow for it. And this isn't even talking about branching dialogue. It's purely about using specific language to load the player in to a position where THEY get to make the decisions on things like motivation and intent of their own character.
