  1. I do make extensive use of "Themed" Global Channels. "Pride" and the "OOC" / "RP" duo in particular. But, like Lorak, I had a GFriend-specific Channel back in the days of Legacy; "Vile" However, that channel has seen more use these days as a spillover for when I have to put on my Moderator Hat and tell people to "take it to Vile."
  2. Ah! A fellow Day Job spreadsheeter, eh @lemming? Kudos.
  3. What happens when you're Flying/Hovering and you use Hail of Bullets? Can we just have it do that?
  4. Thanks for the thoughtful and informative post, Keen. I think you may also want to check out https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/18743-weekly-discussion-49-alternate-fxanimations/ Additional voices in the chorus asking for support to the power of users being able to disable specific Power visual and sound effects, and emotes, would be appreciated. It's one of the leading points of discussion in that thread.
  5. I just had a thought based on @Steampunkette's idea: Badges can be awarded to an account, per the AE badges. Using that mechanism, we can avoid a single account getting multiple votes! A data-mining tool could, theoretically, also be written to match Vote Badges with I.P. addresses to try and weed out sock puppets.
  6. I use the forums, mainly. They don't reach nearly as many players as I'd like, though. For both justifiable and nonsensical reasons there are many people who refuse to use the forums. That takes a pretty big chunk out of potential outreach. Similarly for other, third-party avenues of community engagement (ie: your twitters, facebooks, and discords). So, yeah: In-game bulletin boards, calendars, and polling ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/9265-new-feature-in-game-polling-system/ ) would all be hugely beneficial. Especially from a developmental feedback standpoint.
  7. To create your own Global Channel in-game, you would type: /chanjoin NAME Where "NAME" is whatever name you want your channel to have. If someone else is already using that name, you'll join their channel (unless it's set to Invites Only). Once in your new Global Channel, you can invite your entire Global Friend List to it. I believe there's a button for that in the Global Channel's tab of the Friend List window.
  8. Don't forget to check out: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/12-virtue-roll-call/
  9. Ah, sorry. I didn't even think to test offline users. I imagine that would function identically to Global Friends on other Shards. Time to test that! I see . . . I see . . . SO! Offline Local Friends allow for the Add Note option, but not so for Global Friends (which is not surprising given the test conducted this morning). Has anyone tracked down the slash command for adding/editing player notes? I think that could be a big help in this matter.
  10. You may wish to request this gets moved to the Suggestions board, since the addition of an in-game Group or Shard calendar would be fantastic! Scheduling roleplay events would also be so much easier. Good gravy, it's a pain to get word out for these most of the time.
  11. Follow-up! There is another Global versus Local inconsistency; Tell Logs. For some reason the Note system is logging the Local Tells but not the Global Tells. That's so bizarre to me; I would have thought it would parse the data the other way around if it would only do one or the other. So, yeah . . . sign me up for changing the Tell Logs to also include Global Tells, please and thanks!
  12. Aye. An overhaul to the Costume Creator UI is kind of one of those pipedream wishes, as I understand it. Although, it would be nice if it could be cleaned up too. If perhaps an alias list could be opted in to the backend, so we would be able to sort alphabetically, that would be super keen. BUT . . . that's a different weekly discussion.
  13. Hmm, very odd. I am able to select Global Friends who are on the same Shard as I by right-clicking in the Global Friend list, and the hit the "Add Note" button there, but if they're on a different Shard, I only get the options to Remove or Chat. If I send a Tell to either their Local name or Global name, I still get the option to Add/Edit Note after left-cilcking their name in the chat. This is regardless of if I send the Global Tell from the same Shard or a different Shard. Does anyone know if there is a slash command to add/edit a note? It would certainly be nice if workarounds weren't necessary to get the other-Shard Global Friends a note dialogue, though. I agree completely that the feature should function the same for local and distant friends. Additionally, it appears that if someone changes their Global Handle, then you lose all your notes associated with them. This is because all Notes are saved locally on your individual computer, and don't appear to get uploaded to the game servers in any capacity. Since that file stores data based on the Global Name, if that name changes, the Notes remain for the original Global; not the new one. Some way to compensate for that could also be handy, but I understand that changing Global identities is sometimes used to evade stalkerish "Friends," that changing this part of the Note code behaviour could be seen as not-so-helpful in those cases.
  14. Actually, it -is- a Global feature, as far as I'm aware. At the very least, it's working that way for me.
  15. Very true! Welcome Home!
  16. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/SC So Classic. (Also: Sector C!)
  17. There is already tech in the game to force Powers to show up a specific way in PvP. Granted, this topic has come up in the past before, and there are a few players out there who state that they want/need to see other players' Powers in PvE for tactical reasons. I don't follow that particular mindset personally, but I understand that it's their preference. Therefore; another reason to allow users to flag other player-characters with "generic" visuals for the user's benefit.
  18. I'll take a look in my screenshots folder, but I am 95% certain that both of those billboards existed since Issue 0.
  19. I've long been aware of it; just never had any Sega systems. I played a lot of other brawlers/side scrollers, though. The Ninja Turtles arcade games feel very similar.
  20. Soundtrack is also pretty boss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zVWzjCCM54
  21. Minimal FX for everything. Been one of my longest standing wishes. I'm a huge proponent for allowing players the authority to really get in there and define their own characters. The more tools toward that objective, the better. And to that end, I'd also like to encourage any animations with the same activation time should be shared with any Powers that use said activation time. But, of course, one of the other big ones, which was more recent . . . some kind of "/ignore" command specific to other player-characters' appearances and/or customization. Now, I understand some folks might find that a little incongruent with my previous statement about giving players more authority over their characters, but some debates over Henchpet Customization opened my eyes to an issue. While we can ignore the messages of problematic players, we can't ignore their garish powers or emotes. That's a huge disruption for quite a few players. I believe that it would be in the best interest of the stability of the community to provide all players with the tools to ignore troublesome players. Some kind of slash command which would "repaint" a target player-character with a Generic Body and Generic Power Customization, with Generic Emotes. I have no idea how challenging this might be to implement from a technical standpoint, but I believe it's worthwhile. No one should be forced to endear harassment or even borderline harassment when they're just trying to play the game. Putting the power to disregard troublesome players in the hands of the user would likely also provide a reduction in the number of petition filed due to problematic conduct.
  22. I dunno; a LOT of feedback was provided in Week 45, I think. Definitely information worth reviewing for any writers who might be creating content in the future, at the very least.
  23. Petition to rename previous user to ShartWarrior.
  24. What you describe has been a frequent complaint regarding player agency in this game. I'm right there with you. We have a number of threads which tackle it, and I welcome you to check them out. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/5395-for-those-who-dont-play-redside-why-not/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/9949-the-twinshot-trap/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/11903-redside-does-not-need-more-rogue-content-it-needs-more-villain-content/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15645-why-dont-you-play-on-the-villain-side/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/16089-everlasting-redside-low-population/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/17506-weekly-discussion-45-favorite-and-least-favorite-story-lines/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/17554-make-red-side-great-again/ and, of course: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/18029-community-project-adding-villainous-depth-to-redside-missions-and-story-arcs/
