Very unlikely given both the economic climate at present and amount of work that would be necessary to do so successfully; the latter of which hasn't managed to get done for any other superhero MMO over the last 20 years. Be it the fan-base or that the other attempts, a couple of which being similar to CoH, just couldn't hit the same sweet spot that CoH does or some other factor. The only thing I could see doing a CoH2 for would be better zone maps, many of which presently are quite dated and more in a style for Quake type battlefields than immersive city-scape, and new story lines and such...though I can also see the way contacts and mission dole-outs happen changing.

Yeah...I gotta go with Sappers too as the most annoying. Especially if I'm running an End hog toon. Pretty much have mobs I treat as primary drop-first targets with most of the villain groups though even if they may not be the strongest mob present. Sky Raider Engineers, Illusionists, & Fortunata-types for example.

When I play squishies then Hover is an absolute must by level 8. Even in buildings and tunnels there are areas that you can be out of reach of the melee based mobs...which increases survival immensely. After all...what can't hit you hard can't kill you quick. Usually. 😉

yah....let's not and say we didn't. A lot of those issues brought up aren't really all that visible to new or casual players...so aren't really issues at all to us and we really don't go looking for them all that often as a generality.

Not been to Kallisti in over a year...long before it was populated with anything and was more interested in just seeing what the place was like than close inspection. Pocket D is not a preferred hang out but I have been outside of it back in the days prior to Cryptic's shutdown...and been there a couple times over the last three years...just never for long. Been to Ourobos as well...again only a few fleeting visits. Casual solo player and I've yet to get any toon to 50 (mainly due to altitis) since I came back 3 yrs ago. Though Major Holocaust (45 redside) and Nuclonus (42 blue) are slowly, if infrequently, grinding towards such. Ya kinda missed the point of my statement though about lack of gas stations in the zones. One gas station in Kallisti for ALL of Paragon? Kinda silly ain't it. Just like how heavy the traffic is in Faultline vs somewhere like Talos or Indy. 😉 lol

Paragon News Headline: Super Nobody Bankrupt! Retires due to lawsuit by Hellion victims in Atlas Park! The oft present Hero Super Nobody lost a class action lawsuit in Paragon City Civil Court today. The plantiffs' attorney, Mr. Chris Jenkins, proceeded to outline a pattern of cowardice, criminal depraved indifference, and fraudulent misrepresentation by Super Nobody aka Normie Bodee, as he paraded around in costume near City Hall only to flee or ignore citizens as they were mugged and or assaulted by members of the criminal gang known as the Hellions. Witnesses testified that Mr. Bodee was seen spending more time on his smart phone than paying attention to his surroundings. Also, if another hero arrived on scene, he would suddenly bolt...fleeing the area in anticipation of what typically resulted in a violent confrontation between the newly arrived hero and gang members present; all the while leaving the victim to cower, seek shelter, and all-together unprotected. Judge Han G. Emmhye expressed his utter disgust with Mr. Bodee and ordered him to both surrender his costume and pay restitution to each plantiff named in the lawsuit 50,000 dollars plus all legal fees incurred. Furthermore, Mr. Bodee was forbidden to present himself as a hero, either by costume, statement, or any other manner for the rest of his natural life. The only exception to this life long ban requiring at least two senior officers of the Freedom Corps or Vanguard signing off on him having gone thru their training program and serving a five-year-long tour of duty with distinction. Mr. Jenkins was all smiles after having won yet another case for his clients saying only that 'Justice has been served for all' when asked for comments. He also vehemently denied any connections to Nemisis in response to shouts made by detractors outside of City Hall as he left the premises. Mr. Bodee's legal representation, Ms. Imma Hakk, filed a petition of bankruptcy immediately after the class action case's resolution citing that Mr. Normie Bodee was both unemployed and homeless having been kicked out of his elderly mother's basement not long after having been served notice of the lawsuit. Paragon News will be there to cover the outcome once the bankruptcy hearing date has been decided.

Used to have the 1st ed Mutants & Masterminds books. Was hard to follow though so meandered around until I found Victorious which is more of a Steampunk era superhero setting. Played FACERIP Marvel Heroes a few times...was interesting. Champions once...didn't leave much of an impression. d6 Heroes looks interesting on read thru but not played it (or anything tabletop in a decade or more sadly.)

Best I'm managing solo with a brute is the +1 that just doubles the number of mobs I'm facing....and that just barely squeaks me by without face-planting very often and burning not a few insps plus SO slotting in at least my defense powers. Squishies get squashed too fast to wanna run that way for me though. Not fun to face plant every other battle or when insp heals run dry. So again, I don't see any issues with mob difficulties as they are or that they are in any way too easy. Maybe the Devs could make a dedicated server for the IRON TOON folks that enjoy the brutality level of mob, assuming such is even possible? Though I think it might have a fairly low population overall. lol

I kinda see things the opposite of the initial post. If anything, the mobs have gotten a bit tougher by category...but then, I'm a casual player and not someone playing in a style that squeezes the last decimal point of efficiency out of my enhancement choices and such. I'd say the relative difficulty is more due to play style and such than any real overall changes; especially for a solo player like myself. In 2004 my tank could jump into a scrum of a dozen yellows and orange laughing as they barely moved my hp bar with only a few enhancement slots filled w/ Duals.....now it's about half that and a lot more hp loss despite being slotted with SO's. (shrug) My perceptions at any rate.

Been back for a couple years now and I've still not gotten any of my toons to 50 due to squirrel syndrome (altitis). Kinda loose interest in the toon once the grind seriously starts and start playing the grind less frequently than I do the lower level alts I make. Some of those I end up deleting as I find that I'm just not having much fun with them and move on to the next experiment freeing up names cleanly rather than just having them in a 'stock' list. So can't really say that the OP is alone... 😉

I'm currently running an alt Brute with Kin Mel / Psy Arm which seems to be running pretty darn well together. Just SO slotting but having no issues dropping three or four mobs quickly and efficiently, especially after Consume Psyche comes into play. Add in KM's Syphons and it has only gotten that much more effective while it lasts. Not yet hit 20 but upper teens and going strong so far. First two enhance slots to KM have been 1x Acc/ 1x Rechg and will be filling in with some DMG as time goes by. When I tried KM on a tank, it was much less worthwhile.

The Lawyer there has more game than Paragon's public works and PPD combined. They're actually getting reparations done while areas damaged 20 years ago are still waiting on debris removal, never mind actual restoration. :P Typical Kings Row resident: My insurance company refuses to cover any damage to my car and satellite system done by clockwork. Still waiting on Mr. Jenkin's callback. 😉 lol

So many people just want to prove to others that THEY are RIGHT that they don't realize the ones that want to have an actual constructive conversation about something have LEFT. Many of my responses are said with tongue firmly in cheek... 😉 One thing I've learned over six decades of life is that very little of what goes on or is said is actually important enough to matter in the grand scope of the cosmos...though for each individual's small world such things might seem like the totality of their existence; it's all a difference of perspective and the emotion attached to personal value. The dark side is still not giving up its cookies though... :P

Had not heard of it 'til now. Looking at the site stuff...honestly...not really inspiring. Clunky and doll-like visually though I'm attributing that to being a rough demo type thing. Think I'll pass for now and look in on it once some time has passed.

The Higher level bosses could also have pets they can summon; Elementals similar to the Living Spells used by the Midnighters and found in the Night Ward for further 'fun'.

Cool costume/toon creator. Most maps and such randomize despite having the same flavor text which improves replay. Kills time most efficiently. (something I have way too much of being effectively partially retired) Did I mention the cool costume/toon creator? lol

anything and everything Oranbega... The artwork and scenery is awesome...but it's the absolute worst for tripping my claustrophia. (shudders) So I end up avoiding that entire set of story lines.
