  1. Dang, sorry to hear that. There is another way though... you have to find someone else with that mission, and do it with them. That'll give you the badge.
  2. Newer (within the past year) AMD Radeon cards don't actually work decently with CoH. Number Six has said on Discord that the AMD Radeon RX7000 series of graphics cards uses a special OpenGL driver compared to older Radeon graphics cards, which causes random crashes on old OpenGL-based games (including CoH), with no workaround. There's also been a ton of complaints by AMD Radeon card users over the past five months or so on the Homecoming forums, Homecoming Discord server, and Rebirth Discord server with various graphics oddities and outright crashes. For CoH, your best bet is a Nvidia graphics card by a country mile. If you absolutely must go without a graphics card, then yeah, AMD integrated graphics is your best bet, but considering the issues people have been having with CoH with recent AMD hardware and graphics drivers, I wouldn't bet on it not having issues.
  3. From experience, they haven't. I bought a HP gaming notebook back in January 2020. It wasn't top of the line, but it wasn't cheap either. It pretty much melted in October 2021. If I tried to game, it overheated and would shut down. I sent it in for repairs, but it came back with the same problem.
  4. Paying with in-game currency is a far cry from paying with real life currency. If you’re aware of someone selling anything in-game for real life currency, please inform the GMs.
  5. City of Heroes pretty much needs a Nvidia graphics card to run. You can play CoH without a graphics card, but it would not run well at all. You would have to run all graphics settings at minimum settings and use a launch parameter (-usetexenvcombine) to disable shaders to get an acceptable frames per second.
  6. RP works for some people. Badges works for some people. But for many others, material rewards to work for are needed - whether that be prestige, aura unlocks, Incarnate abilities, or Aethers. The problem was (and it’s a very significant problem), is that for three years, Homecoming had literally nothing to work for. Everything in the game was literally given to you. For a significant portion of the Homecoming player base, there was literally nothing for them. RPers had RP. Badgers had badges. Players who like to have goals to work on and material rewards to achieve had… nothing, which is why many of them left years ago.

  8. Hard modes are not nearly as difficult as WoW mythic content. You would have to disable Incarnate abilities in hard modes for it to be near as difficult. It only seems difficult because most CoH content is face rolling easy. In reality, any mix of any AT and power sets can do even 4* hard modes just fine. You just need decent builds, a nice mix of roles, and to pay attention.
  9. Considering that many hard mode groups only allow support characters with either Cold Domination, Nature Affinity, Kinetics, or Thermal Radiation power sets on their teams, I wouldn’t call Nature Affinity underrated.
  10. Your level 50 character most likely has a ton of IO enhancement set bonuses to compensate, unlike a true level 9 character.
  11. Bingo. I know many people who left Homecoming a long time ago because there was just nothing to strive for. Everything was just given to you.
  12. I know that you're looking for something or someone to blame on the Cosmic Council SG leaving Homecoming Snarky, but the truth of the matter is that no supergroup/guild/clan/whatever lasts forever. Some will last months, some will last years, an extremely rare few will last over a decade. None last forever.
  13. Yep. It was that way back when Going Rogue launched. You have to take it slow, stock up on inspirations, and buy amplifiers from the T4V vendor if you can. If you move around quickly, you may trigger a cascade of ambushes. But yeah, it's difficult on some ATs, including Controllers.
  14. Not the day of release, they couldn't.
  15. No, because the costumes are intentionally meant to be something new for people to grind for, for those who like to have long-term goals to strive for, since everything else is pretty much given to you now - even Incarnate abilities. Not much grinding nor long-term goals to strive for if the costumes were available for INF or reward merits that you can just snatch up the day they released since there are quite a few people with tons of INF, reward merits, or both stored up. Same reason every online game periodically adds new currencies. You don't want the new shiny or new shinies all bought up in a day.
  16. Glad to hear that. My pleasure. Yeah, The Protest event has been pretty buggy since it first launched with Issue 19. I had to learn the hard way on both live and on Homecoming that having pets and/or henchmen out actively penalizes you in this event, (because I forgot during the six-and-a-half year long snap :P ).
  17. Yeah. I just try not to rely on procs for stuff that should be 100%, as a proc nerf has been threatened for years. I am sure that it's only a matter of time.
  18. There's Aid Other, certainly. But, even better is the tier 4 Rebirth Core Destiny. Go start a level 50 Ouroboros Flashback story arc, go to Mercy Island near Kalinda, find the large group of Arachnos troops, and put that Rebirth Core Destiny on auto. Go AFK for about fifteen hours. Profit. Note that it has to be Rebirth Core. Rebirth Radial won't do it.
  19. You don't need fire damage. Energy damage also lights Oil Slick, which can be gotten from the Magic and Technology origin attacks, or from a power set like Electrical Blast. Electrical Blast/Trick Arrow Corruptor is pretty win in the AoE department. Then there's Sonic Attack, which is pretty win at -res.
  20. It’s your henchmen. Do the event without your henchmen using personal attacks, and you will get the badge. For some reason, the Protest event does not count pets nor henchmen as participation. I just finished doing all of gold side on a Mastermind and did the Protestor event without my henchmen, and got the badge just fine. I do understand the frustration though. This has been an issue since Issue 18.
  21. That sounds like something went wrong with the update. The Incarnate window shows on mine. I suggest joining the Discord server here and asking for support, as support for Mids' Reborn is no longer offered on the forums.
  22. Not to mention that way too many are Fold Space happy, even when it's detrimental. "Fold Space that technician in the TPN building to all of the other mobs? Don't mind if I do!"
  23. It definitely isn't anywhere close to over 70. Over 40, yes.
  24. The "best" secondaries for Thugs are Time Manipulation and Electrical Affinity. Three words: Permanent Gang War. Dark Miasma and Nature Affinity are both good as well.
  25. I was looking for information on the Bugs header for an article, and saw that there was a Bugs category. I went to it, and ironically:
