  1. Depends on your play style but Water Blast should go with almost anything. I tend to like playing ranged so I pair it up with Tactical Arrow but I would think it would also go well with Energy and Temporal Manipulation.
  2. I just assumed they used it as a heal but as an former Ice Controller I have no lover for Shiver. If anything I was just mad at Ice Control in general lol.
  3. My memory is foggy but what changes were made to Poison Gas Arrow during I22 again? I'm looking at it now in Pines and I'm trying to remember what it did before. I believe it was just a flat out sleep with no possibility of Proc'ing the choking animation or the -Dmg debuff correct? I am looking at the I22 Notes right now but I might of overlooked something. It used to be a flat 66% chance to sleep minions when the power activated, and then a sticky -Damage. And the cloud would linger, even though it didn't actually do anything. It was changed to function as a pseudopet during I22. The chance to apply the sleep was dropped and instead it continually reapplies the -Damage and rolls a ToHit check to apply the sleep to minions. Oh wow! That's amazing! I didn't know about this change. That's huge. I really do need to roll some new Trick Arrow toons esp after the issues with Redraw was fixed.

  5. I def think it's fine as is.
  6. I'm glad someone brought up this Horrible power. To add insult to injury my first Mastermind was a Mercenaries/Poison on Live. *Whew* If I knew then what I know now I would of deleted that toon and never looked back.
  7. I personally haven't commented because I am a noob at pvp :P but I do love pairing Tactical Arrow is almost every Blaster Primary so I have been clicking on this build every now and then because it makes me smile haha.
  8. As of right now it is, yes. I tend to post them this way for the sake of clarity and to ensure the powers are slotted appropriately. The goal of course would be to eventually add Invention Sets (hopefully without using a respec to move slots.) The sets are a bit aspirational for me presently due to extreme poverty and chronic alt-itis. :o I understand fully. I finally have slowed down with making Alts and I have been hard at work trying to make money before my next wave of Alt-itis takes hold lol. In regard to when you took Tidal Wave. It's really up to you and it depends on how you play. I think taking your travel power early is good but personally I could never do it. I just like to take 3 hours to get across town I guess :P. In regards to slotting Health, Stamina and Metabolic Acceleration...that is totally up to you and since I don't Blapp I don't know what would be decent slotting. I guess it all comes down to if your current slotting is meeting the demands of your Stamina strain and if you are able to build your toon in a way that meets your build goals. Overall though your build looks pretty solid to me. I also need to get back into Incarnate stuff so I tend to build my toons the old school way before incarnate stuff was a thing. Time to relearn how it works I guess.
  9. OMG, OMG, OMG Arcana is back! AHHHHH. This just made my whole MONTH! *AHEM* I MEAN! Oh cool, good to see you Arcana. They actually did. AR snipe animation has not been touched since shutdown. They never got around to changing the Cast Time in the power definition, but the actual animation was rooting for 1.67 seconds during that final week of i24 beta, before all servers got killed. I was going to post this. I have an AR/Dev toon with insta Snipe and it fires off like any other Snipe. This was one of the first thing I tested when I first joined the Homecoming Servers.
  10. Tried an ice controller. Was so looking forward to my pet Jack Frost. Oh dear. A dim-witted pet. After the seeing the frenetic fire imps in action? I was so disappointed that I stopped play my ice/rad. Jack got a buff? He had a glass jaw and now he don't. Whoop. Needs to be more mischievous like the electric gremlins. (Now, they DO have a glass jaw...) Aye. Not all dos play like Fire/Psi. AoE or bust? I like my single target elec/elec domi. I love it. A little bit more damage over the set(s) would be good. I've seen fire/psi melt mobs and do stuff I can only dream of. Ice dom. Tried it. I felt it sucked. If you want a real ice dom? Roll an ice blaster. i24 was transformative for them. Ice aura slows down mobs a treat with sound range. And it can stack with ice storm. Awesomeness. Beam rifle. Tried on on live. I felt it was the worst graphical and 'feel' for a set Paragon had ever done. I'll have to go back and give it another try. I recently teamed with a Beam on my Team (heh) and it looked like he was doing 'ok.' ;) 100% change for disintegration. You know? What would be REALLY transformative? 100% for knock back for en/en blaster. It's irritatingly hap hazard. Eg. Like Force Bolt. When it hits? It's going to do knock back. Or like Force Bubble? When it hits you? You're getting pushed back. No question. Azrael. I shouldn't say that Jack got a buff...more like he was elevated to the levels of acceptability. He was under performing before when it came to him dishing out damage and taking hits and the Devs gave him values that made him on par with the other controller pets...so to say he got buffed is a little misleading. I must apologize. When people think Powerful Dominators they think Fire/Psi the reason? Fire has the most damage out of all the control sets and once the KB-KD proc was introduced it added more control and Utility. Mind you Fire Control needed that Bonefire change badly. Psi's T9 was strong and had a low recharge and hit relatively hard which in turn called for it's T9 to be nerfed. I think this was a hotfix situation because it really highlighted the issues with the Dominator Assault sets. AOE is nice but the real reason why people loved that build was because of performance and other Dom Combos weren't able to hit quite as hard and that's what makes things dangerous because everyone will assume all Dom combos hit as hard as Fire/Psi. Beam has seen a lot of improvements due to indirect changes like No Redraw and the Snipe changes so once this patch hits I hope to see far more Beam Rifle toons out there!
  11. Earth/Dark could lock down an entire map with that combo lol. The Same goes for Earth/Traps and Earth/Poison.
  12. Wormhole does scatter mobs when you port them. There's a weird little KB/Repel thing that happens once the mob finishes porting. Thankfully this is solved with the KB to KD enhancement. I used Trip Mine a lot for soloing and on teams I treat is as a Pbaoe Nuke.
  13. I echo this and it's AMAZING on a Dark/Toon esp since Tactical has a hold and Flash Arrow which synergizes very well with Dark/. I also agree Altetikus. A lot of people unknowingly pick secondary blapping sets which doesn't work for everyone.
  14. Yes! It was amazing! A good transition of the way it was during PreShutdownLive-Beta and Current-Live. I need to do more testing on a Defender or Corr since on a Blaster everything seemed to die fast heh. This will put Beam Rifle back on the map and make it a great set for Bosses as well as large groups. It also didn't spread after foes died so now no worries on that one. Back in the day Beam Rifle was a big hit but the nerfs were too safe and neutered it's potential and combined with some of the worst redraw we've ever seen it didn't do well on live and still hasn't.
  15. I have both but my first was /Stone and is prob my fave build wise. I would recommend /Stone first and /Ice second.
  16. I always felt like Earth Control is a late blooming set but once you get gasses it becomes godly. As soon as you get Volcanic Gasses look for a Hold Set called Lockdown and look for the proc name Lockdown: Chance for +2 Mag Hold. This proc alone will add even more control to gasses. Also make sure to slot Earthquake with -To Hit Debuffs. Once you get these two powers running will no longer be dangerous.
  17. What do you think of my build, Tater? The weaknesses I'm realizing it has are: [*]I probably should have taken Tidal Forces at 16 and delayed Beta Decay until 22 (debating the use of a respec) [*]I neglected to slot Stamina [*]It takes forever to obtain any sort of knock-back protection (This one I was aware of, but there were no defense or resistance powers to slot into This is a non IO Set build no? Sorry for the late reply. For some reason I wasn't able to open your build for quite some time until last night.
  18. Jack Frost and Fly Trap got a buff er Balancing right before Shutdown now he's still a horrible pet but doesn't have a glass jaw like he literally had before. I need to find the old patch notes on the changes on those two pets but lets just say I was pretty upset that it took the Devs that long to realize that our complaining about with Fly Trap and Jack Frost under-performing was true lol. I agree with Mezmera Novacat. Blasters are not what they used to be and they def have outpaced Doms which is fine but Doms need some work and I'm glad Powerhouse and Leo are looking at them! :D Maybe Novacat, you are thinking about Fire/Psi Dominators? Not all Dominators play like Fire/Psi sadly. On the Dom changes please yes Icy needs SOMETHING lol. -Recharge of 10% and slows are laughable. Woot on the Energy change and I'm crossing my fingers on the changes for the other assault sets. On Topic: I have not tested the Snipes yet but I will soon! I can imagine I will love them since I was over the moon with the last patch anyway. OH! The Beam Rifle changes! Thank you so much! I remember the Devs freaking out about how damaging Beam Rifle was on Beta so they nerfed the proc'ing of Disintegrate into Oblivion to the point where it felt like there was no reason to play Beam Rifle except for thematic reasons. Bravo! This will give Beam Rifle toons tools to further spread Disintegration and it will actually spread faster in teams instead of it only spreading to 2 or 3 people before the entire mob is dead on teams. This news is almost exciting as the Snipe and Dom news 8)
  19. Depends on your play style. Animate Stone is a must because it Tanks for you and it deals decent damage. Personally I Skip: Stone Prison, Stone Cages and Salt Crystals.
  20. Personally, I normally go Ice. I like Ice for the -Res. I slot Sleet with two -Res procs so you have a chance of debuffing a mob up to -64% then add in Ice Storm for more damage and you got a winner. I like Soul more for your toon since and Earth/Earth is very melee focused and you will no doubt have 10 people in your face at all times lol.
  21. It's good to see a lot of the old school players back :D
  22. Are you into Blapping or Distance? Are you into Soft Control or Straight damage? Distance and straight damage. Is this build expensive? Yes! Is this build flawed? Most definitely Is this build over tuned? Yes lol I'm not the best at builds but I do love to play around on MIDS. I can make a cheaper IO set version if you like or a non IO set version. I also play my Blasters weird and I never take Tough or Weave. I also Take my Travel power later than most. Making this build was a challenge since I tried to make it look somewhat normal but in the end my eccentric nature got the best of me. /Energy?

As a ranged Blaster /Em was my go to. Now with the /Devices change I will probably roll /TA /Devices and maybe /Em
