  1. Sure, that's more convenient for you. The point is using $loc is one extra keystroke (shift+4 for the dollar sign, and three letters) and is more convenient for everyone else.
  2. Brightsword, sword/energy scrapper
  3. The Erector, a bots/traps MM
  4. Don't contrary me. I knew the information they gave me, so they were literally giving me no help. Giving me the info I asked for would have been helpful. When somone asks questions, they aren't looking for anyone to interpret what they think asker needs and ignore what they are asking for and certainly don't need anyone trying to gaslight them about how things have always been the way they are now even back on Live. And no one needs you trying explain how I got what I needed. You don't know what I needed, so just jump right out of this conversation because you're not helpful either.
  5. Excelsior is protesting Halloween ending too soon.
  6. If you want to turn Excelsior on, you have to lean in close and whisper sweet nothings into its ear.
  7. There's a Canada??
  8. Came up with a couple new ideas to play with the past couple weeks.....no not seasonally related. Meet A-Game and Stormson, a shield/st.j tank and storm/storm corr (respectively). A-Game is pretty lean for a tank, but I used the muscley tights option to make him more wirey than skinney. The barbarian belt and shoulder details work nicely with the tights color as the secondary color. Not committed to that shield just yet, but I wanted something that wasn't round and could hold the letter detail. Stormson is obviously not your teutonic/norse thundergod. I feel like the tribal tats are a bit heavy, but other markings didn't convey the right feeling I was going for. He's no hammer god either, but he does have an axe thanks to the ghost slaying axe prestige power. I didn't do much with power colors except to recolor snowstorm in a brownish color to make it more of a sandstorm effect, and also added red in as the secondary color on his lightning attacks.
  9. Who said I was or even wanted to rely on those descriptions? I said I use them for at a glance indication of what powers generally do. I'm not trying to base a character build on it, and I never asked anyone to solve "my problem" by suggesting better ways to have more accurate information. But as I said in the title of this post....sometimes help isn't helpful.
  10. I'm not saying they should put of leave false info. If it's wrong, then correct it. Tell us which powers deal Minor and Light damage rather than take away the descriptors. Taking it away is a lazy fix, and I fault them for going this route.
  11. Just want to say that I feel like HC is doing a disservice to the legacy of the original game and the casual players who do not care about completely accurate numbers info or want to rely on poking further into additonal windows or using an outside source just to get an idea of which power in a set hits harder or not as hard as the others. I don't care about how it can change with slotting or whatever else. I want to be able to pick a power quick and easy and then not regret it later because they decided to not carry on the traditions of the old developers. I mean, if they aren't going to do that, just throw out all the rules and stop calling the game what it was and just make it something entirely new.
  12. I get why they wanted the vagueness, and after Mids that is just a pipe dream. But I still liked the vague descriptors as a kind of shorthand when looking for something. I don't need or even care about specific info. I'll leave that to the people who rely on Mids like it's their bible. But for an at-a-glance-which-one-should-hit-harder resource, I miss not seeing it there. THANK YOU. To all the people providing answers in Help to a question I did not ask, THIS is how you answer a question. I may not agree with the answer, I may not like the reason behind it.....but THIS is all I wanted.
  13. I can even understand some newer powersets created since HC started not having this info, but for a legacy powerset like fire melee? I'm just confused both by the change and the idea that it was never like that.
  14. I noticed something tonight.....the damage ratings from the fire melee powers are missing from mouseover and power select screen. You know, the part that comes before the damage type giving a general idea of how much: Minor, Light, Moderate, High, Superior, Extreme..... I asked when and why this happened, and all I got was people telling me to check the combat attributes window or click the more detailed info buttons or download Mids and use that to figure out what I need. But that isn't what I asked. I don't need or want workarounds, I just wanted to know when and why. One overly "helpful" individual insisted on being a day one player and this information has never been part of the game... even though it still is in other power sets, like Martial Arts and Energy Melee just for example:
  15. Try my plutonium chili recipe.
  16. I played an ice/ice brute to 50 and loved it.
  17. I would love elemental sets for the different ATs that combined effects from 2 or more existing sets. Right now the best an elementalist can do is master 3 of the 4 core elements with primary, secondary, and ancillary sets... if an elemental theme is even available in their chosen AT. Maybe a generic elemental powerset that had a power that lets you vary the effects like the way dual pistols lets your damage to fire, cold, or toxic.
  18. Isn't Fire sets' identity a synergy damage bonus with more fire? Nrg has KB, Rad has -DFF, and Fire gets more damage when it's Fire/Fire.
  19. Basic laptop with wireless mouse, all default keyboard settings, no binds,
  20. Just started over here at HC and made a handful of newbies to play around with Body Shot - DP/Invul sentinel Criminology - DP/Ninja blaster Groovemaster - Symph/Rad controller Passion Police - Mind/Pain controller and Psychotic Dancer - DB/SR stalker
