On the other hand, that hasn't been updated in eight months. There's been a few web-based or mobile-based character builders attempted over the past five years, but they've all quickly died. I suspect that it will never happen.

FWIW, you don't have to take part in it. I didn't. If the Mapserver event hit whatever zone I was in, I just left the zone and did other things.

Suggestion for next year's Mapserver events
Lunar Ronin replied to KaizenSoze's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
On the other hand, I'd rather it didn't because it was a good excuse to expose people to zones on different sides. I just avoided whatever zone the Mapserver event was going on in. If you make it blue, red, and gold simultaneously, no one would leave a blue side zone. May as well make the event blue side only. -
Differences between CoH and CoV missions?
Lunar Ronin replied to Hardboiled Hero's topic in General Discussion
People play on Excelsior because that's where most people are. It will obviously have a strong hero to villain ratio imbalance compared to other shards because if the people are playing there because they want to be around the most people, they'll play blue side because "everyone plays blue side." True story: It takes just as long to fill PUG red side teams on Indomitable as it does Excelsior. Average of about 20 minutes on both shards. -
"Mark forums read" and "Sign Out" are uncomfortably close together on mobile. There's no confirmation, so I keep accidentally signing out on mobile when I am trying to mark the forums as read. It's been a long while since I last administered an Invision forum. Would it be possible to either separate the two options a bit on mobile, or add a confirmation prompt to signing out?

PC Gamer Article on Homecoming's Deal with NC
Lunar Ronin replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in General Discussion
FidoNet was my stomping grounds back in those days. I miss the flame wars in the Star Trek sections of FidoNet. I may or may not have helped instigate quite a few of them. UseNet and FidoNet are both still around, but are husks of what they used to be. -
25. It's always a Nemesis plot.

Ugh. That's one of my pet bugaboos. I've seen far too much of that on PUGs, to the point that it occasionally makes me want to tank just so I know that I'd have an actual tank on the team and not someone playing a safer Scrapper, and I hate playing a tank. Too safe and too dull for me.

There are two ways currently to obtain the Avid Reader badge. The first involves creating a Praetorian character and running through the Precinct 5 tutorial. The second way involves doing an Incarnate trial and reading Prometheus' dialogue. Meanwhile, Isolator and Jailbird can both be obtained via their respective tutorial like Avid Reader, or via running the Ouroboros introductory story arc - which is usually ran solo. It would be nice if there was an additional way to obtain Avid Reader without either starting a character in Praetoria nor having to do an Incarnate trial. You can get very seriously burned out by regularly playing gold side (or at least I do), and Incarnate trials can be hard to find on lower populated shards. I don't know what this method would entail... perhaps an Ouroboros mission to read walls of text? I don't know. I realize that this is most likely a pipe dream, but hey. It can't hurt to ask.

Yeah. As someone who only plays on Indomitable, I gave up the idea of obtaining every badge. So instead I have a couple of solo only characters that I intend to eventually get every possible badge that you can obtain solo. That's a very large amount. There's only somewhere around 130 badges that you can't get solo.

What Is Your Reason For Choosing a Corrupter/Goals?
Lunar Ronin replied to Paragon Vanguard's topic in Corruptor
The only two Controller power sets that I could bear soloing are Illusion (but only after Phantom Army), and Symphony. Symphony is much more of a blast set than a control set. The others? Yeah, no. I'm a bit of a masochist, but the others are too painful to solo even for me. -
Along with Hail of Bullets, the other nuke that didn't crash prior to sunset. Not saying that this is a great idea, mind. Just a lot of people forget that Dual Pistols' nuke didn't crash prior to sunset either, and lost that advantage like Archery did.

Michiyo locked the Homecoming Wiki on Tuesday, March 19th in preparation for it being moved to another server, which hasn't happened yet. When that will be, only @Cipher knows.

That's funny. How can there be a fifth The Matrix film when there's only ever been one?

Steady Indomitable Weekly Red and Gold Static Team
Lunar Ronin replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in Indomitable
We had a blast getting to level seventeen last week. This Saturday, we'll do the Bane Spider Ruben story arc, and then make our way to First Ward! We still have room for a couple people. If interested, stop by our Discord server linked to in the original post.- 7 replies

Yeah, a lot of people either don't know or entirely ignore that Stalkers get a crit bonus for being on teams, that actually puts them slightly ahead of Scrappers.
-
Tankers do a lot more AoE damage than Stalkers. Amusingly, a few people have told me that Stalkers are not welcome on advanced mode speed running teams because "they don't do enough damage." Yet, they'll take Scrappers and Tankers. Things that make you go "Hmm."

Bingo. Letting all ATs be able to be created blue side was one of Paragon Studios' biggest mistakes IMO, (and they made quite a few). Red side ATs should have stayed red, blue side ATs should have stayed blue. Maybe let Praetoria be the only way to bring a red side AT blue, just to give extra incentive to play gold side. Regardless, way too late to close that Pandora's Box.

Castle... 'nuff said, really. There's a reason why he's in Recluse's Victory now.

Symphony Control is a power set that is better on Controllers than Dominators, like Mind Control and Arsenal Control are better on Dominators than Controllers. Its cones want you at range, which clashes with the Dominator assault power sets wanting you in melee range, (until Arsenal Assault - so a Symphony/Arsenal Dominator may work). In addition, the Reverberant pet echoes your primary powers/attacks, not your secondary ones... which means that you need to spam your primary powers more often than your secondary ones for the pet to work. That works well on a Controller, not so much on a Dominator. Symphony Control is fantastic on Controllers at least, IMO.
