  1. And while it would require an animation change, the recock twirl for a loop lever action rifle would be entertaining.
  2. I don't know if you can make a MM with more than five pet powers to test that.
  3. To necro this a bit, if you can work things out so that you are wanting to catalyze an IO, and you've already got that IO, catalyzed, slotted on an alt, it saves you the cost of an unslotter to unslot the catalyzed version, slot the uncatalyzed version, then catalyze it, leaving it in place. For example, if you have an Acc/Dam Thunderstrike, and your character has Thunderstrike five-slotted in a power, including the Acc/Dam IO, then just unslot that one, slot the regular IO, and catalyze it in place. It's not a big saving, but it can add up over time
  4. Only loosely; it functions more like the Gassian's proc -- it is a tag on your other powers to give them a chance to proc a 'build up' that only affects Arcane Bolt. And this effect is independent of Arcane Bolt; if you exemp far enough to lose Arcane Bolt, the proc effect on your other powers still triggers, even though you can't take advantage of it.
  5. Well, good programming practice is to document changes, both in the design document and in the code. And when we all stop laughing at the idea of this having been followed with CoH (if it had, we wouldn't have seen so many 'update this, break that' patches), it's something that we should try to follow going forward; unfortunately, we don't have an archive of previous versions to know how things were changed to be able to revert them.
  6. Or the eternally-abused need/greed mechanic -- "Yeah, one of my guild mates' friend's brother is missing that piece from his set, so I'm needing on it."
  7. If the aggro and target limits are baked into the code, this would require a patch update for every time it occurs, and all the updates the HC developers make would have to be applied to both versions
  8. It's funny; before I saw Stallone as Judge Dredd, I didn't think that I would ever say that he had too much facial animation for a role.
  9. You young whippersnappers, get off my lawn! 🙂
  10. There was a building on that block in the original map; this was replaced by an excavation construction site prior to the launch of Issue 4, when the arenas were implemented. Now the arena is missing, replaced by building construction.
  11. Not ball gags -- the infamous "Bat-Nipples".
  12. It's also useful for getting the exploration badges in The Hive -- not only are several of the badges inconveniently close to a 'wall' of Monster DE, but the 'Wild at Heart' badge is inside a forested area at the north wall that has several mobs close to the badge, so you have to dash in and back out, hoping that either your stealth/invisibility will let you get in and out without drawing aggro, or you've got enough resistance to eat the hit you'll take. PFF will give you enough Defense that you should be able to floor their attack chance.
  13. Didn't we get enough of that horror in Batman Forever (no picture to prevent screaming)?
  14. No... Butterflies. And you could use the confetti animation for them. Well, of course they're just going to flutter to the ground; they've been up a unicorn's butt for who knows how long.
  15. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Demo_Recording https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Demo_Editing https://www.reddit.com/r/Cityofheroes/comments/ccgh7h/demo_editing_101_pretty_much_everything_you_can/
  16. And keyboard options for things, instead of the mouse-centric interface. Yes, it works, but I'd like to be able to hit space for the default choice or 'y' and 'n' and the like for dialogs. There are bind workarounds, but they're clunky.
  17. For me, it was shortly after the release of CoV; several friends of mine had had convinced me to join them in camping the rooftop of the hero base in Bloody Bay; we were up there for about two hours, repelling attempts to reclaim the roof. We weren't there to dump on the heroes -- we didn't do any taunting or random attacks unless they came up on the roof to try to throw us off -- it was more of a "We're in your base, drinking your beer" thing. Since then, I don't think I was in a PvP zone for anything other than exploration badges and plaques, and a few Shivan runs.
  18. Get IrfanView; it will let you select the rectangle you want and crop the image to that rectangle, then save it out.
  19. You can see a similar effect looking through a character with Stealth using the "invisible effects" power option -- all sorts of power visuals don't appear.
  20. Is there something stopping you from throwing away (not selling, because then you'd be benefiting from them) all your recipe drops and ignoring the AH on any one of the HC servers now?
  21. It would be more useful if the game didn't keep trying to match your speed to the mob you're following if they're moving; the number of times I've watched my character drift along lazily behind a mob, just out of melee range, when a tap on the 'w' key dashes up to them for the attack (and cancels the follow).
  22. And I've recently started making popmenu sets for location AoE powers like rains that have consistent hotkey options to work as normal (i.e., mouse click on ground to place), place straight down, or place at current target. This makes using these powers in combat less annoying.
  23. I don't think I ever did it deliberately, but back on Live, I had a Bots/Dark MM who was, IIRC, 37 when he joined a Manticore TF, and for reasons I don't understand had the team fall apart after the 'defeat all' missions, leaving him as the last person on the team. Just for shits and giggles, I decided to try to finish the TF. Back then, Hopkins was the only AV you faced in the last mission, and I managed to get all the way through and grind him down.
  24. Or, in some edge cases, screw up combat. I was playing a Brute recently, and on an office map had one of the 'panicking civilians' run between me and my target, pushing me back and actually pushing me out of range for my character's melee attack.
  25. In the last mission of Shauna Stockwell's arc in KR, I always hear Chernobog's monologue: "My brother... He tells me not to hunt you ... He says killing you would be bad for business... That it isn't right time... Maybe that's true, maybe... Unfortunately for you... I never had good mind for business." in the voice of the Heavy from the "Meet the Heavy" TF2 video.
