I made a post a while back about removing the 2nd and 3rd level shift entirely. I've since change my view. Just because I don't need them to fight +4s means nothing, especially now that I've played a lot of the squishier combos out there. Removing the level shifts is a nerf. It's a massive reduction in ability for a whole lotta characters. So, will I /jranger the whole idea? No. Am I forced to call it a nerf? Yes. Would I honestly care one way or the other? Not really. Power creep be real yo. But I would also very much understand why a great many players with a great many characters would be more than ticked off were it to happen.

So instead of a nerf, how about we increase the difficulty available? That way, I can go to DA, grab a repeatable mission at the new +7/x10 diff and fight +4s at the aggro cap to my heart's content.

Seriously: Alt-itis, What To Do? A Discussion on Self-ControlBill Z Bubba replied to a topic in General Discussion I've got two pages+ of 50s somewhere built between serviceable and OMFGWTFBBQ. This was NOT the case back before the snap. Having a claws/fa farmer on the second acct and utilizing it heavily has not been good for the altitis.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion We have a civilization and religion for the same reason: the vast majority of humans need the fear of punishment to behave appropriately because they aren't intelligent enough to choose that path on their own. This has been the case for the entirety of human history and will never change. Modern society is proof of it. Very few of us are good for no other reason but that we have reasoned ourselves into it. I will admit that the increasing percentage of the "nones" at least gives me *some* hope for humanity.

Autohit fluffy? Scuse me while scaling resists make me not give a damn.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion Yes, at least they're being charged for murder now. Too bad about all that voter suppression. Things are so much better, right? Remember, there's "good people on both sides." https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2020/05/08/authorities-father-son-charged-with-murder-of-black-man-killed-while-jogging-in-georgia/ For the record, I'm 47. I remember the Satanic Panic. I remember Reagan. Nothing has changed. The evangelicals are even more of a rabid force now than then.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion You end up with a two party political system with one half being the 4th Reich and the other having being a bunch of spineless and ineffectual morons attempting to take the high road. Or to put it another way, we tried that. See where we are now?

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion No. Harm no other and do as ye will. As soon as you break this law, you are no longer protected by it. If you side with evil and cause evil and harm, you are to be treated appropriately so that you are no longer able to bring harm.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion And I would argue that attempting discourse with those that have such opinions has been proven time and time again to be a completely fruitless endeavor with very few success stories. Ignoring someone creating a toxic environment with their <racist/religious/political> spew in a game most of us use as an escape from the constant barrage of such crap in real life does not create a toxic environment. It's the simplest and arguably most correct way of dealing with the pond scum. It removes them from our little virtual existence here. Arguing "opinions" regarding the necessity of a pool power is a far cry from arguing the validity of the "opinion" that some races are better than others. I have to fight racism every frelling day in my actual life. I'm not about to waste my game time doing the same for some worthless pile of excrement on the internet. I simply remove them and go about my day. If you choose not to, more power to ya. But stating that *I'm* creating a toxic environment by doing so is nothing short of ignorant bullshit.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion Giving them a platform does nothing but embolden them. It gives them a validity they don't deserve. You only win the fight against them by ridding your society of them.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion That part absolutely was toxic to provide an example. But no more toxic than claiming I create toxic environments by removing toxic elements from my field of view. That is the refuge of those that know they are in the wrong: "Waaaahhhhh, you won't let me spew my <insert whatever here> so you're oppressing me!!!" More succinctly:

What are your "ignore" habits and why?Bill Z Bubba replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion So disallowing racists and kiddie diddlers a platform, *I'm* the one with the toxic behavior. Spoken like a true nazi.

Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?Bill Z Bubba replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback /sarcasm on Just make 'em both inherent! EVERYBODY always takes them both so EVERYBODY always has that wasted power pick of boxing or kick! Matter of fact, make all the leadership powers inherent, too! /sarcasm off

Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?Bill Z Bubba replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback The work was shown in the other thread. And the thread before that. And probably that other thread as well. /jranger

What if we add DPA to the damage formula?Bill Z Bubba replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback Isn't this exactly what Castle and BAB did with claws? The whole set was rebalanced around the cast times and it led to some interesting problems. Namely, me on beta tearing through a pylon in what would even be considered today a horrifically broken time. Yea, it was fixed, but it can be argued that claws/spin continues to be considerably overpowered for its cost.

Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?Bill Z Bubba replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback The costs? Really? You mean all that fake money that rains from the game in buckets? LotG +recharges are 7.5mil each. They're freaking cheap and a permabuff. You don't even have to have the power on in which they're slotted. It takes far more "effort" to make hasten permanent than it does to get 70% perma recharge from set bonuses. Should we also purge the Force Feedback chance for +100% recharge? I mean, hell, that's just one IO that is more powerful than hasten. It's not even unique. AND it "unfairly" benefits those sets with more knock powers. I wasn't skipping powers from other players, I was ignoring them fully. I look at the game from the soloist view. Anything extra that comes from teaming is just that... extra.
-
Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?Bill Z Bubba replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback Think that'd be less power creep and more power jump. Just as removing hasten would be a global nerf.
-
Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?Bill Z Bubba replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback You obviously aren't reading your own thread. The only deceit here is the one you're laying on yourself in your attempt to ignore your own biased and myopic view. So please attempt to curb the "you don't agree with my opinion because you're stupid" attitude with statements like "To put it into terms most people I believe can understand" when you're the one sitting back ignoring or being incapable of understanding every other way this game offers to get a permanent +70% recharge bonus. Ways that have already been listed in this very thread multiple times by other players.

Weekly Discussion 49: Alternate FX/Animations.Bill Z Bubba replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion My hopes: Make the original claws/swipe cat on acid clawing at a post animation an alternate for eviscerate. Port the claws/followup left hand alternate animation that exists with hover to exist while not hovering. Port energy melee dominator changes to all other energy melee sets. Create alternate hand animations, randomly utilized for all attack sets where it makes sense. Example, Dark Melee attack chain of MG, Gloom, SL, Gloom is ALL left handed. Would be nice if it went right every now and then.

Unsure. All I'm seeing is the +max hp from durability and dull pain.
-
The only thing really jumping out at me that I do differently is that I prefer the scrapper AT IO +crit in single target attacks for when I'm cutting into hard targets like AVs and GMs. It's a nice build.
-
I love the stone attack sets. The sound fx of stone cages hitting its mob cap very well may be my favorite sfx in the whole game. And after finding the abject joy of a 100% melee earth/earth dominator, I'm gonna second that choice. If you find that too squishy, I also have several other stone melee users. A fire/stone tank is a sight to behold. Wanna go pure smash nonstop carnage? A stone/wp brute is a gorram hoot.

Just for giggles, I cranked up a no temps, no deaths solo ITF at +1 (so they'd at least be even con) with my fire/bio sent. Took about an 1.5 hours and got the MoITF badge. Didn't realize until I was fighting final Rom that I had never turned on a bio adaptation. May spec up the build for more damage and try again at +4. Doubly amusing since I thought I already had the MoITF badge.

I don't on my DM/Inv brute. SL is just another attack that happens to top off my health bar. That said, there's probably some procs out there that might be a solid fit if you can fit them in. EDIT: heh, as Redlynne just posted.
