  1. I tend to kick mine to 32 so that I can slot them with the lvl 35 common IOs they'll use as they level the rest of the way to 50... Without the ability to dual-box a new alt with one of my farmers I probably wouldn't make new characters, I've completely burned out on the low level half of the game... If I never have to see it again, I won't feel like I've missed out... So at least some early-level power-leveling is a necessary thing in my case. It makes building new characters fun instead of something I'd dread.
  2. I'm curious how farmers doing our thing "ran off" everyone else.... It's not like our fire demons and cosplayers are invading your story arcs and setting your roleplay team on fire. 😆
  3. Okay, just a quick and casual bit of playing around with Ossuni, my 'Zen Mode' farmer, on Cult's "Fire City" (#17655 on Live, and the first arc that comes up in a search for his creator name on Beta-) map.... Live ===== Minion- 5979 Inf Lt- 20,504 Inf Boss- 64,081 Inf Beta ===== Minion- 5977 Inf Lt- 15,070 Inf Boss- 45,007 Inf I have XP turned off for Sunni, so that's unchanged for her regardless. It looks like Cult could bring his goons up to their old value with a little tinkering. His Minions are already basically fine as they are. I suspect that's about what we'll see for a lot of these. Rewards aside... At least on that big, open ruined city map the new aggro thing is actually a bonus. It was a whole lot easier to gather neighboring groups. I didn't even have to use Sunni's ball lightening to get their attention. They just tossed a few fireballs at her and then started wandering over all on tier own. I think I love it. 👍 She did end up taking a little more damage than she tends to on Live at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be more than her build can handle, which also pleases me. It'll be fun to see how Harry handles it. (He's my "speed farmer", whose build gives up some safety for MOAR DAMAGE. He's more fragile than Sunni is, so the extra aggro may bite him a little harder.)
  4. Which map did you test, Flea? I'll hop into a different one. ETA: Ah. I see. You did Comicon.
  5. Also true. It's not an easy problem to solve without hitting somebody other than the AFKs.
  6. Or FCM's suggestion... If the excessive Emp-to-RM conversion issue is really the main source of concern, either adjust the exchange rate or remove that option.
  7. It might also get weird in cases like mine... I don't have (and never have had-) a character named Coyotedancer. Other players on both Everlasting and Excelsior *do*. Even though it's my Global handle, those Coyotedancers running around the City aren't mine. (And yes, that's really confounded people a few times when they met those characters and assumed I was the one playing them! 😝 ) Would it just act like any old regular name for them, or get tagged to me somehow or what?
  8. If I have time, I'll have a look at that with Ossuni today or tonight. I'm curious about that, too, along with how the aggro changes may affect things on the space map and patrol cave where groups really stack up fast. 'Meeting the family SG for our usual running around this afternoon, though, so I may not have a huge amount of time with it. As an aside, my middle nephew is probably going to be pretty sad panda about the vet level change when it goes live himself. He turned out to enjoy fire farming with FCM and I, and has a basic "first farmer" Spines/Fire Brute of his own. He loves it when he gets a level ding in the middle of things. He calls out every single one, and always goes to check out his new badge title when he gets one... He's been looking forward to collecting them all. (He's just shy of vet level 70 now, so definitely getting there after about... six months or so?) Farming isn't all he does with that character (He's also a big fan of MSRs, chasing giant monsters and fighting off invasions of all sorts-), so even without AE dings, eventually he'll still have his badges. But not getting them while we're beating up on hot-sauce zombies and cosplayers is going to take a little of the fun out of it for him. So,,, yeah. I'm playing the "You're gonna make a kid sad"-card here. Because it's true. 😝
  9. She sounds like a good soul... Go in grace, Squeakie.
  10. They're actually wrong about the "No Incarnate goodies from those maps back on live"-thing, too. for what it's worth. I got the incarnate shards to build Alphas for a fair few of my gang by *gasp* *horror* FARMING Unai's Council Earth map. Shards dropped from level 50 mobs even back in the Live days. 😝
  11. Are the other Circle bits that the guys got ages ago EVER going to be ported to female models, or should I just give up on Kai and Rev ever getting their proper Death Mage gloves, long kilt and back spikes?
  12. Honestly, I'd really rather not have to bounce around between three different servers, worrying about when I last logged in on each and every one of my 70+ well-equipped, fully-Incarnated and, yes, very much valued level 50 characters, just because some of you guys think I need to "prove" that I'm devoted enough to deserve to keep those characters' names. That they made it to 50 and were liked enough to keep ought to be proof enough that they're wanted. If I didn't value them they wouldn't be sitting there taking up a name in the first place. 😝 I have no problem with lower level characters needing some attention to stay in proverbial good grace.... but leave the 50s out of it. They've earned their place.
  13. 😆 Oh dear... Yeah... Not a glorious way to go. I do love that map, though. I'm glad to see it added. It's been asked for for ages. (I have to admit I've never tried to navigate it with a non-flying character , though. That might just change my affection for the place. )
  14. My "Fireproof Scrap" was actually Dual Blade/Willpower. It might not have been the absolute MOST effective pairing, but I know those two sets inside out and went for them based on that familiarity with how they handled large spawns. If I were going for something like Council Earth (another "classic", Old School farming map-), I'd probably just jump in with my regen-monster Broadsword/Bio Brute. Semnai handles solo +4/x8 Council scanners just fine when I go catalyst-hunting, so she'd probably plow through that map just as well.
  15. I have the Nemissary and his Unquiet Bride as lvl 2 "NPC" characters here on Homecoming (Their "real" lvl 50+ incarnations are over on Paragon-)... I made them to interact in scenes with a friend's character. She was their adopted daughter. I've never had any intention of leveling or building out the versions of the characters that I have out here, since I typically don't duplicate characters between the public and closed beta servers.
  16. Combine that with the ability to send unused incarnate salvage pieces from one character to another on the same account and that would definitely help... It's always irked me that the characters I sent through the DA-on-repeat grind all ended up with piles of spare common and uncommon iBits they'd never use, while the next alt I made could have made good use of the things. It's always seemed silly to me that we can ship emps, but not salvage. I wouldn't be for the ability to transfer them to other players... but to our own alts? Absolutely.
  17. That's likely to come back into the rotation for me. I can always rebuild the "Fireproof Scrap" that I had back in the Live days for running that one. (Ukase met Ashirion a few times, as I recall, while he was stabbing his way through the Underground iTrial with an alternate, less-specialized build-) That one can barrel right through Harvey's demons Old School style, should the AE changes prove to be more than Harry or Ossuni can handle. It won't let me supply you guys with salvage and junk recipes quite as well as we're used to... But it'll be a non-zero contribution.
  18. Okay... while I am glad to see the old Circle guys in there, for Tavaris and Arte's sake I have to grump a little about not including the Death Mage and Madness Mage. (What? My Life Mage and two favorite Thorn Wielders are ladies. Those old-school Boy's Club uniforms won't do much for them. 😆 )
  19. Not all of us with objections run AFK. I'm strictly an active-only farmer,
  20. OH, I'll still farm. I do it for fun... It's almost a zen thing. It's relaxing to me. The INF and drops are just a nice bonus, and being able to throw those infrequent alts of mine in with Sunni or Harry for leveling is a plus, because I've burned out hard on the lower level parts of the game. Being able to also unlock their Incarnate slots that way will continue to be A Thing I Do as well. I'm just annoyed that I'm being forced back to DA to equip them. Those arcs get old after awhile, too, but when you're not online when iTrials are formed and aren't a huge fan of Taskforces or PI Council Scanner PUGs that's what you're left with if you want to fill those slots in any kind of reasonable time-frame. This won't "kill farming" for me in any way. If it kills anything, it'll just be my desire to make any new characters.
  21. Agreed. It makes me glad that I only make new alts once in a blue moon anymore. And no... It isn't going to push me in any way to run those few new alts through iTrials or Taskforces or any of that. All it's going to do is force me into re-running solo DA arcs over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over again to equip them. (At least that's what I'll do until our Powers-That-Be decide to put time gates back on DA rewards to kill that, too, for making solo incarnates "too easy". <_<)
  22. Most of mine are magi... They use a quick cantrip to summon and dismiss items that are too big to fit into a coat pocket from something like Hammerspace. They call it "Elsewhere". Kai says that she used to try carrying a purse, but got tired of having to beat the snot out of gang members every time she tried to walk across Atlas Park.
