  1. 'Took Cantus through a quick run of Cult's highway tunnel farm to catch him up to the rest of the family SG's mid-level team... and then spent Saturday afternoon running around with a Stone Brute, a Dark Defender and a Savage Stalker. He handled pretty well for a character with such an odd-ball combination of powers. As an aside, it's hard to match Cantus-the-Fraggle's color scheme. We just don't have quite the same shades of purple, orange and pinkish lilac. (For folks who weren't kids of the 80's or didn't have kids in the 80's.... or a much-younger kid brother, in my case,,, who were in to Fraggle Rock. This clip was Cantus' introduction in the series. The lyrics of that song are also Mage!Cantus' current bio text. 😆 And yes.... I really, really want the Siren lore pet's music-themed Sonic FX for him. So very much. )
  2. I've always thought that the "Rocks fall. Everybody dies." power that some of the Talon bosses have would make a great basis for an Earth-oriented Judgement.
  3. You mean that *isn't* his troo form?
  4. My favorite Death Mage is a Dark/Dark/Dark Defender.
  5. This. I had great fun with mine.
  6. Les'see here... No promises about finishing this one any time soon, but for tradition's sake: 44 / 63 / 80 Defender... So, not a great soloist. Sonic... Hmm. Not exactly teaming people's favorite flavor, either. Seismic... Now that's just weird. My last two randos worked out pretty well (The Archery/Time Corruptor is actually good fun-), so you never know. This one might be fun. Or just bizarre and not particularly popular with anyone he'd potentially run with. I guess time will tell. ETA: Grabbed the name Cantus (Latin for "song" and the name of my favorite Fraggle Rock character-) and created this crazy thing. No matter what else, if I ever roleplay the guy, I know that he sounds like Jim Henson. 😆
  7. I don't really have a specific excuse... I think I'm just in one of those semi-burnout, just-not-all-that-interested phases. It'll eventually pass, I suspect. But until it does? I'm only around for a few hours on the weekends to play with the family SG and do a little fire-farming with my middle nephew.
  8. I wouldn't set foot in the City-proper. Nope. No way. Not a chance. The place is a death-trap. If I were forced to live anywhere nearby? I might survive Salamanca. Maybe. If I made a point of avoiding the Red Caps.
  9. I don't keep spreadsheets or anything like that... I still have well under a hundred characters out here on Homecoming, and so I just don't feel like I need that level of detail. Like Flea, I tend to "finish" one character before I make another one, so the majority of the gang are 50+ and fully-equipped. If I don't like a project for whatever reason, they'll get stripped and deleted long before they make it to that point. (Anyone who actually gets to 50 is a keeper, in other words.) Since the gang were all at one point roleplayed characters, they're divided up into several personal, themed SGs with their own bases. I stash different sorts of things in each of those bases. (Level 35 common IOs, crafted procs and specials and all spare Catalysts are in the Sanctum's bins , the ATOs and WinterOs are in the Voyager's base, extra Rare salvage bits are in the Wolfepack's storage bins, and so on-) My character are all arranged on the log-in selection pages by which SG they belong to. (All of the Sanctum magi are together, all of the Ordus Chronos people are on the same page, etc-) Spare INF is stored as email attachments in lots of 500m, to be accessed by whichever character needs it. Hero/Villain merits likewise. (I convert regular merits into H/Vs any time I get to 50 on a character, just to make them easier to store-) I send all of my Emp merits to Tavaris. I'll pull as needed from that stash when a new character gets to 50 to build their Alpha. Past that, they're on their own as far as iSalvage goes. Kai carries all of my purple recipes and crafted purple enhancements in her personal inventory. Three other characters keep all of my PvP recipes and crafted PvP enhancements in their inventories, divided between them by type. I find that just that basic level of organization is enough to let me find anything or anyone I'm looking for.
  10. Yep. In Aion if you want a new skill (or to upgrade an old one to the higher-powered version) you have to "buy books" to do it. And at higher levels that can get pricey. Once in a while you'd get some skill book or other as a loot drop (I used to get Spiritmaster summoning tomes pretty regularly, for instance... On my Sorcerer and Templar. <_<), but for the most part? Nope. Grind that kinah! Dodge those Gunner bots running around killing every mob in sight the second it spawns! (Gunner bots who typically outnumbered human players by a fair margin in some areas, especially on the non-PVP leveling/rookie shards. Low population never seemed to slow them down.)
  11. A few too many mean-spirited gags and about fifty years worth of more-disruptive-than-funny "wacky shenanigans"?
  12. Sorry, but... no. That April Fools crap is just annoying.
  13. Ah, yes... the annual festival of people who think they're funny being asshats all over the internet. Can we just pitch April 1st into a dumpster and set it on fire? Please?
  14. When you started up the farm did you pick the standard rewards or the AE specific option (tickets)? It's been ages since I did that, so I don't remember if that actually hits the INF as well as the recipe/etc rewards... But it's a thought.
  15. I would tend towards mythology for something like that... You might not be able to get the root name this late in Homecoming's life, but something like "Blade of Adrestia" or "Vali's Bane" or the like might still have decent odds.
  16. I can't say I've ever seen an Eagle or any of the others slowed down in combat. They do drift around slowly before we engage them, but once we're into it with them? They move at full speed. I'd love to see a confirmation one way or the other from one of the powers folks, though.
  17. I don't think the NPC have to deal with it as things stand, I can't say I've ever noticed any of the multitude of "frequent runners" (Not just wolves, but Eagles and Ancestor Spirits and Illusionists and Goldbrickers and Sky Raiders and Spectrals and Air Thorns and Seers and Animus and... yeah. You get the idea. <_<) we have in this game being slowed down in the slightest as they jet off across the map at full speed. While we're stuck like a sloth in glue if we want to chase them down. I've been asking for Movement Suppression to be removed in PvE for *YEARS*. It's annoying as all hell given the frequency of RunAway!RunAway! mob AI.
  18. I haven't played in years... But once upon a time I did. I was a "specialty breeder" of Silvers. It looks like the sprite quality has improved since those days.
  19. Eh. I've run into a couple of Great Cosmic POWAH!!-types among the Homecoming roleplayers, but it's not a common thing as far as I've seen. If there are whole hordes of them out there, they must have been keeping to themselves in their own dedicated groups. And if that's what floats their proverbial boats? No harm done. As long as the group they play with is fine with it, it's not the issue it could turn into in a more open setting. I have to say, though, that I did actually have some fun with one of those types awhile back. The character was supposedly some sort of ancient archangel type thing... who hated Oranbegans for one reason or another. I mean, he absolutely LOATHED them, and made it clear that he basically wanted to see them all burned to ash with Holy Fire any time the Circle came up in conversation. Which they sometimes did, with various characters from my gang being around. He just could never understand why Kai (Who was, as far as he could tell, just some mortal human college-girl with a little magical ability-) kept giving him such a serious stink-eye whenever he threated to murder them "as they all so justly deserved". Particularly when it was Artemian (aka "That demented Madness Mage") or Tavaris he'd threatened. He just couldn't wrap his head around the idea that Kai was Tav's apprentice, or that the "demented Madness Mage" was her sidekick and best friend. I think we both had a pretty good time with the interactions between those two. As played/written, he was vastly more powerful than Kai was, and in character, they both knew that. But being reasonable people OOC, that power imbalance never actually caused any problems. COULD he have tried squishing Kai or Arte like bugs? Sure... But that would have ruined the fun. Everyone knew that. So it was never tossed on the proverbial table as an option.
  20. I like my Sentinels... (Thay solo pretty well, and I'm mostly a soloist. I couldn't care less if "OMG. They have NO ROLE on a teeeeaaam!!!1one!") I enjoy playing KinMelee... (On Stalkers, anyway. It annoys me on anything else.) I have a great time with my Peacebringers... (I've never had a Warshade that I liked, though. I've tried, but... nope.) I don't always chase soft-caps,... (I'm as likely to have a regen-monster. But not going for uber Defense is pure meta-game heresy, I know.) ... and yes. I habitually have *two* slots in Fly or Mystic Flight. (What? I like my Winter's Gift special and that's an easy place to put it. Glue patches and caltrops are annoying, yo.)
  21. These have been an interesting read... but in all honestly that one is probably just going to remind me of all the reasons I eventually gave up and said to hell with roleplaying in the City.
  22. Put me in the "all but my one or two most recent/current 'project'-characters are lvl 50+"-camp. I finish a character before I make the next one.
  23. My Death Mages approve of this idea. 😆
  24. Someone I played with back in the live days had a lady ninja named SHEnobi... which led to a Changeling-playing SG-mate making a pointy-eared elvish one that he called Sidhenobi.
  25. It needs a change... but keep in mind that if those changes make it too annoying, it'll end up just like the Fir henge mission... An automatic auto-complete that many (most?) of us would rather spend an hour listening to a screeching toddler than actually play through, especially solo.
