  1. I know a few people who have a couple of pages of names held between them, mostly on level 1 place-holders that have never been played "Because the name was cool and someday I may want to use it", VT. I does happen.
  2. Here we go again... There are a few people here who adamantly insist that they should never, ever have to give up a name... even one held on a level 1 placeholder character they'll never play... for any reason whatsoever. And yes, they think that somehow members of the military are owed special consideration above and beyond other players.
  3. 'Not sure when I'll actually make another one... but rolling for Round 3 gets me: A scrapper! Primary... Street Secondary... Shield So, your random tables apparently want me to play Captain America, VT. 🤣 ETA: So... yeah. I ended up making that Street/Shield scrap. Meet Tesamun, one of Ordus Chronos' time-travelers and a member of the the far-future city of Nova Primeva's Temple Guard. She's been given the task of tracking down a missing book that the Head Librarian seems to think was taken from the archives in the distant past.... Paragon's present day.
  4. For what it's worth, my own characters do almost all get played regularly after they're completed... and for the support types at least, it's very rarely in "end game" content. I'm more likely to do high level things with my stalkers or brute. The defenders and corruptors spend most of their lives exemp-ed with mid-level teams, since that's the portion of the game where they're actually useful.
  5. You're making it more personal than it is. I do tend to short-cut my characters to the mid-30's, simply because after running through the low level game so many times I no longer find that part of it fun... But I level them normally from there. As for why I may find that "good for the game"... I can only speak for myself. If I couldn't take that shortcut to 32? I just wouldn't make any more alts, and eventually I'd get bored of the characters I already have. Which would mean the end of my time playing. For me, that would be what "killed the game".
  6. You'd have to ask VT, but I think it had something to do with a tabletop-like resolution system they'd been working on that used the in-game Snowball power's ToHit rolls? In any case, when I rolled up my pair, I just used my regular tabletop % dice.
  7. I ended up giving her a different name... Twilight Silver just sounded too much like an escapee from My Little Pony... but that Ice/Dark Blaster of mine is now a finished and Incarnated 50. And yeah. She's all kinds of weird to play. I can see why the pairing is rare. 😝
  8. Here we go... It was in the Everlasting server-specific bit of the forum: My pair are an Archery/Time Corruptor and an Ice/Dark Blaster.
  9. Down in the.... Roleplay forum I want to say?... We have a series of tables for random rolling sets and ATs. I'll see if I can find it. I've done two characters that way so far.
  10. And... sometimes it happens in the middle of a Rikti invasion. 😆
  11. Huh. That may be one of those "Differences in shard culture" things. I see most of them on Ev forming in Ouro
  12. It's aaaalll fun and games until somebody gets turned into a monkey... 🤣
  13. We'll have to agree to disagree, then. I would find an SG-mate trying to weedle me into staying after I felt I was done with the game more than a little annoying. I'd probably tell them to mind their own business and to stop pestering me over how I chose to spend (or not spend-) my limited play time.
  14. Fair enough... But isn't "wanting people to think about it" hoping to change or influence the way they play?
  15. <_< >_> I still think the LRT accolade thing is all kinds of useful. I don't know about anyone else, but my slow-zoning self is going to be using the heck out of that thing.
  16. The tone of the entire opening post is essentially "I think you're playing in a bad way and you should feel bad for doing it because you're killing the game".
  17. I didn't say he wasn't entitled to his opinion. We all are. I'm just saying that he shouldn't expect to be able to tell other people how to play.
  18. I'd say that having to deal with the perpetual angst and clutching-of-proverbial-pearls from busybodies who would just *love* to dictate how everyone around them is allowed to play is also a threat to player satisfaction, and with it player retention. To each their own, Solar. Play the way you want. Leave the rest of us to do our own thing in peace. It's not your place to tell anyone else what they're allowed to like.
  19. Huh. 'Never thought I'd see someone getting grumpy over people having access to the zone teleport... I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I admit that I am. o_0 It's reminding me a little of the arguments we saw back-in-the-day when Fitness went inherent.
  20. I don't think so, Solar. You can do that in Aion. I'm almost 100% certain that we've never had a feature like that in the City.
  21. Not as far as I know... Where are you seeing that in the patch notes?
  22. Now... about that badge for DE Devoured (Yes. I love the new ones. But still want that one, too. 🤣)
  23. That's working as intended.
