A model for Temporal Armor would likely be similar in many ways to super reflexes. However, going off of @Steampunkette's Time Melee set, it would likely be a mixed set that has some healing (Temporal Healing from Temporal Manipulation and Chrono Shift from Time Manipulation?), some recharge (again, Chrono Shift fits the bill although it may need some adjustment as armor sets generally have 20% rather than 50%, so Time Lord from Temporal Manipulation may also be one to consider), some defense (Farsight from Time Manipulation and/or Foresight from Widow Teamwork may be some ideas here), and some psy/cold/en resistance (Use animations from Force Fields or Sonic Barrier for a Resistance Toggle). The key will to make it balanced and not too clicky... T1 Chronovision -- Auto, +Res (Def Debuff, Res Debuff), +Per, +Spd T2 Proximal Foresight -- Toggle, +Def (Melee, AoE (moderate)), +Res (Confuse, Fear) T3 Distal Foresight -- Toggle, +Def (Ranged, AoE (moderate)), +Res (Stun, Hold) T4 Time Bubble -- Toggle, +Res (Psi/Cold/En) T5 Temporal Displacement -- Toggle, +Def (All), +Res (Sleep), +Stealth {weak}, +Confuse (5s tick, 5s duration, mag1) T6 Temporal Healing -- PBAoE, Ally +Absorb, +Recovery, +Res (Slow, Regen Debuff) T7 Farsight -- Ranged Hold, Hold, Foe -Regen, -Heal T8 Temporal Preparation -- Self Rez T9 Chrono Shift -- PBAoE, Team +Recharge, Heal, +End, Moderate Healing over Time, +Recovery This is just a quick outline, it is a little swayed towards the Defensive end, but I think it does include enough to give it a feel of something different from SR...

Having both RGB text input and hex would be redundant. It's easy enough to either do the conversion in one's head or use hex2dec in Excel.
-
Question @Number Six, for the color palette that @Cipher is working on, would inputting colors by hexcode be workable? It may be just me, but it would make getting magnificent 5E093F rather than far less desirable 611240 much easier...

Not a big fan of combo mechanics especially on top of the stance mechanic. What I would like to see is base-procs not being erased by alternate ammo types and more reason to focus on specific ammo types...
-
With Grav/Storm, I believe the preferred tactic is to use Wormhole to TP everyone into a corner, use Hurricane to keep them in the corner, and then use all the other tools to cause mayhem... with Dimensional Shift as a panic button or an uh-oh another group of mobs aggroed and I'm not ready button...

Praetorian Epic Archetype: The Olympian - Kryptonian-style AT
Zepp replied to Rigged's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While Nietzsche did base his concepts of Übermensch on the philosopher king with a dash of Neo-Aristotelian rationalism, he did relate the Übermensch to concepts of health and physicality as well. The Nazi reinterpretation ignored most of Nietsche's writings and focused more on American racial purity "eugenics" theology. The original Superman (prototype for Lex Luther) was more like a Nietzschean Übermensch, but with Nazi-ish philosophy, whereas the redesigned strongman Superman was more like a Nazi Übermensch with Nietschean philosophy. This binary, I would argue, played a much larger role than Perseusean concepts. Yes, Perseus fits (although Kal El would be more of a God than a Demi-God), but that seems to be a secondary influence. -
Praetorian Epic Archetype: The Olympian - Kryptonian-style AT

Technically, the Jewish Canadian that created him was drawing from Nietzsche in direct opposition to the Nazi reinterpretation of the Nietzschean Übermensch. It could be argued that the framing in Nietzsche as a modern myth (drawing from Greco-Roman symbology) would make him a Modern Greco-Roman myth, but that is at least several stages removed. -
Rather than a button, I would prefer to have both opportunity effects merged and activated by any single target attack within the primary.

Elec/Psi > Stacking Conductive and Drain Psyche as fun as it sounds?
Zepp replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Dominator
I'm considering an Elec/Psi/Mu dom, and have been theorycrafting a build. Other than perma-dom, are there any marks I should be aiming for? -

Power Sink + 1 tick of Conductive Aura will drain most mobs... bosses and up may take a couple extra ticks... -
Splitting the Fighting Pool into Off and Def Pools.
Zepp replied to Cooltastic's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This would significantly increase the resistance selection available, and be a huge buff for squishies (but even moreso for res set Stalkers) and support toons. I would definitely call this power creep. -
Because of the Cottage Rule, I do not see changes to the primary/secondary combinations of Sentinel being in the cards. Just think about how many toons would no longer be able to respec with the primary/secondary combination they selected. Furthermore, I do not think that the Sentinel concept works well for an Assault primary. In terms of the Operative, the secondary of the Operative (in its current iteration near the end of the thread) is basically Manipulation sets with one armor power, one placate, and then control powers to fill any holes. It is actually a nice balance allowing Assault and Manipulation sets to be proliferated while being functional.
-
Something like: Operative (19.09.24.06.34.01) Assault/{Armor/Manipulation/Control} Preparation: Low threat level, stealth (weak), and a bar that constantly builds but is reduced by attacks - grants improved secondary effects Operatives are strategic agents that have many skills that they must strategically employ to be effective. They use a Manipulation secondary that has been bolstered by a modicum of armor and control for survival. I like the idea of an assault primary, but I'd rather keep Sentinels as Sentinels and add a new Assault/Manipulation(+a little sumthinsumthin...) AT on top.

Splitting the Fighting Pool into Off and Def Pools.
Zepp replied to Cooltastic's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While I do not think this is a good idea, I do agree that the Ancillary Power Pools do need a revamp too bad nobody wants to write a suggestion thread about that... -
Just to confirm, it is not a chance for -100% recovery, it is -100% recovery (according to the IG description). This should, however be extended to the T9 and perhaps increased (to account for resists).

I was wondering if anyone has tried TP with the ATO bonus 50% to range on Sentinel? It seems like it would be a good play, but has anyone actually tested it out?

I am sure this is unpopular, but I miss the city life
Zepp replied to arkieboy72472's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Leogunner's math and definitions may be completely out of hand (I've already demonstrated why), but without doing the actual math for how many posts are for gimmes/nerfs/other, I still think that the point is valid. There does seem to be an overall tendency towards asking for gimmes over nerfs. That being said, it is neither as one-sided as implied, nor is it out of hand in most instances. I have also been attacked for suggesting that a huge nerf to Brutes (reducing their resistance cap by 5%) may be a good idea for differentiating between the roles of Brutes and Tankers. I understand that nerfs tend to be unpopular. This is also related to how certain past nerfs (Energy Melee, Tactical Arrow, Regeneration) went overboard. Thus the community has a history of negative experiences with nerfs that ought to be considered when outlining nerf proposals. That being said, this larger picture has very little to do with whether the proposed nerfs are good or bad for the game. My perspective is that forced third spaces through intentional inconvenience would distract from more players experiences than it would add to fewer players experiences. That is why I am against them. -

@biostem and I agree with you. I was just clarifying that it wasn't the same type of interaction space as the auction house or Pocket D. -

Miss Liberty isn't a third space, it is a second space. First space is the home (SG Base), Second space is work (missions and places related to leveling). Third spaces are social gathering hubs outside home and work. -
First, I would like to specify that I do support this proposal. I was just referring to the use of best practices (linking to a specific post), and that it would me more needed if there were options for changing posts per page. Personally, I would probably go 1k ppp if I had the choice. I also agree that a post-count (this is post #xxx of this thread) would be useful.

I may be reading into the OP, but I think what they miss is the community. In early CoH these hubs formed third spaces. This helped build the community, and as the community thrived the need for these third spaces declined. This lead to improvements that allowed for easier access. The problem is that the game is being reborn anew, and as people try to rosters of L50 toons, there has been less social interaction. However, give it time. This game can develop a community without forced third spaces. -
Some Tweaks to Give Trick Arrow a Point
Zepp replied to DougGraves's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The arguments about Trick Arrow as a Defender set seem to ignore that it is also a Mastermind and Controller set. When making suggestions, it would be a good idea to think about it across all three ATs. -

Zepp replied to arkieboy72472's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If you completely ignore power dynamics, asking for equality could be considered asking for "more", but if you contextualize the request, it will not result in power creep because the sets will still not be as powerful as high performers. Just like asking for the repeal or mitigation of prior nerfs is not designed to push the overall power level up. Using a term that is, by its nature, dismissive is not a good way to start the conversation. Also, you made reference to the Hasten thread... most of the suggestions within that thread from the OP either nerfed Hasten or led to an equal level of performance. Thus your premises are not sound either. In terms of language or "slang", words are social constructs. That means they only have meaning if there is an agreed meaning. In other words using words in a manner that is outside the scope of everyone's definition (or claiming that is what you are doing) is not using language. If you have a specific meaning that is being misread, elaborate. -

Balancing is not asking for more, it is asking for parity. It is best to avoid forced false dichotomies when making arguments. It can make people ignore any substance your argument has.
