  1. For survivability, defense is a pretty good choice; my question is the best tanker at what. If it’s controlling aggro then SR starts to fall behind. Pairing it with dark/ice/spines can help with that though.
  2. Sweet, I’m sitting on 53ish characters atm (severe altititis), and while I never use rest on many builds outside special instances (sappers), there are a few builds where it was used regularly, like my spines/dark brute, elec/storm corr, and human form only PB. I’ve currently got three toons left to hit 50 before I have one of each AT there, and multiple 50s of a couple ATs, so my experience with END in different builds is pretty varied. Some of those endurance issues probably come from how I slot (defense over offense as I hate face planting) and my reluctance to use inspirations outside of anything other games than EB/AV fights, as I consider any builds that have to rely on inspirations as being broken. If you’re sucking down blues all the time because you consider your power sets to be just the cherry topping to your inspiration monster power, then ymmv.
  3. My statement was in reply to someone saying ‘remove all the penalties with expensive IO sets, the same as every other tanker sets.’ For me, the fun is learning how to play effectively within each set, not trying to make it function like all the other sets I play.
  4. I have a number of builds that used rest while leveling. I’m wondering if the people saying they never use it are the ones bankrolling all their new characters with end proc IOs and full sets.
  5. I agree about the slowness of setup, which is why I specified for solo use. At this point I’m just happy they removed the interrupt.
  6. Isn’t stunning mobs bad for fury building, as they aren’t attacking you?
  7. He is saying that it only procs when you summon you pet, so unless you’re summoning them every 15 seconds or so, it’s not going to do you much good.
  8. Just a thought, if all sets end up at the same place at the end of the day, then there’s really no point to ever playing a second tanker after your first.
  9. Also, think longbow can debuff res or some such.
  10. Well, I guess the first hero that comes to mind is Professor X; he does zero damage to anyone from his wheelchair, and very rarely even controls anyone.
  11. Pretty sure that the OP just asked for increased recovery and regeneration out of combat. Grim Dawn (arpg) uses a similar mechanism, and it did absolutely nothing to curb my enthusiasm for high health regen/recovery while in combat, so doubt it would here, and this from a player who has 3 out of his 4 lvl 50 melee characters with a regen set.
  12. What’s more annoying is that the npc gun turrets take more damage to destroy than the minions that summon them; would be nice if ours were the same way
  13. Eh, I don’t have a problem with the game play, my severe altitis appreciates the ease with which I can gear out my toons. Talking about what to do to address characters feeling left out was purely a mental exercise, as I don’t expect unpaid devs to do much more than maintain the the status quo and chase their own little pet projects. Later Pot, Kettle out.
  14. Well sir, my comment was in response to coyotedancer saying that my earlier suggestion would ruin the whole gaming experience for smaller groups and solos, and my whole point was that games aren’t required to be designed for one type of play style. If you’ve bothered to read this thread then you’ve seen plenty of people think the current content is sufficient for challenging small groups, and it’s full group content that needs addressing, particularly the low dps ATs no longer having a role. Also, if you can’t accept a game being designed to where a solo person with a complete lack of acquired skills can complete all content as being the lowest common denominator, that’s your burden not mine. In any case the remark was brought up to demonstrate two different design philosophies, not to say whether coh falls in either. If you want a place where people are going fluff your ego and support all your opinions, try FB.
  15. If you’ll notice, the recharge intensive pets IOs are on his list. I know it’s scary to think of wasting money on an IO that the tooltip says won’t work, but give it a shot, you’ll be okay.
  16. You make it sound wrong to have content designed for groups... in an MMO... even superman needs help every once in a while. Are you worried about losing access to the phenomenal story lines or loot? It’s already been established that the majority of players do the easy incarnate content as it’s less work for the same rewards, so loot won’t be the issue. Maybe you’d like a nice /lfg trial ala WoW so you won’t be deprived of content. They can give you a troller npc to follow you around if your friends only like to blast things rather than execute some strategy and tactics. Wouldn’t want people to have to work to accomplish something after all. The fact is, you either cater to the lowest common denominator or you create varied content that appeals to different kinds of people. There’s plenty of folks that never leave the AE...
  17. You’re halfway to the old school toe bombing with this; lay smoke, put three trip mines down, caltrops to get them all nice and bunched up for the mines, then jump back and fireball to get their attention.
  18. It means enhancing an IO to your level +5. For SOs you do it by combining two of the same kind, not sure how IOs work, though people only do it with the level 50 ones.
  19. That’s correct .
  20. I think there are 4 total unique def/res IOS that MMs can use. If you go into the /ah and look through the sets under recharge intensive pets, you should find them.
  21. I’m not familiar with traps, do any of the traps powers take pet IOs? I believe there are two def and two res IOs for pets; the others might be under recharge intensive pets, which MMS can also equip. If traps can take those, i’d slot them all in there. Otherwise one can go in your T1 pet as you don’t need 3 acc. Realistically, with tactics going, you can get away with just one, especially if traps has some -def built into it.
  22. If you want all ATs to feel useful, then you need content that only they can handle, which means strategizing team competition. Hamidon does this at a very basic and static level. Introducing this into a fluid environment would be great for those low dps ATs, and also redirect those characters back to doing what they’re best at rather than chasing damage.
  23. They’re now allowed but guessing the tooltip isn’t updated.
  24. Is this for leveling or end game? Pvp or pve? Group or solo. Answering those questions will help guide responses. Basically asking for priorities on all the things you want to do, unless you’re just looking for a generalist.
  25. Okay thanks!
