Conversion of salvage to Empyrian merits
ShardWarrior replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The character is controlled by the player who may have already unlocked and crafted T4 incarnates on dozens, if not hundreds, of characters. At some point, that does get old and is more tedium for tedium's sake. -
page 3 [FOCUSED FEEDBACK] Supergroup Base Adjustments
ShardWarrior replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Confirming this. The Circling Shark object seems to have disappeared from the editor. -

If on the off chance we ever do get new objects in the base editor, would it be possible to attach a #New keyword to them? Would make it much easier to find anything new via the search and negate the necessity for an additional tab solely to list new items. -
page 3 [FOCUSED FEEDBACK] Supergroup Base Adjustments
ShardWarrior replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I just checked this. Objects that generate both power and control (eg. Generators, Ley Tap etc.) are listed in the Base Services tab. I do not see a need to list the objects that only generate control in Base Services as base power and control are no longer separate systems. Objects that were specific to generating control only, like Monitor Banks and such are more decorative now given that power and control are both covered by tech and arcane power generation objects. I think the tab organization is fine as is. There will likely never be a consensus from everyone on how the editor tabs should be organized. Those who are new to building will familiarize themselves with the tabs. Making use of the search and Info tab are what will be most helpful. For me, more often than not I am using the search to find an object since I already know the name(s) and it saves me from scrolling through tabs. -

Thank you for these. I tried the new and improved editor on Test and the search works very well. The re-organized tabs are a blessing and the removal of the star texture on surface tiles will be very handy for decorative use. If I may, would it be possible to get a set of teleporter objects that already have all in-game location beacons attached to them? This would really help cut down on the need for adding multiple teleporter objects in a base. It would also be wonderful if we could have more in-base teleport points. -
Paramount Moving On from Kelvin Timeline Trek

I agree and would say far more miss than hit. Leonard Nimoy had some thoughts on this that I think relevant. -
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
ShardWarrior replied to Glacier Peak's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I watched this a few nights ago. It was ok. Nothing special, nothing terrible and about what I had expected. A highlight was the set design which was beautifully done and impressive. With exception to Pedro Pascal, the casting was well done. I just cannot take Pedro Pascal seriously as Reed Richards. Ralph Ineson was a perfect choice for Galactus and captured the character very well. Vanessa Kirby was great as Sue Storm. Overall not terrible, but not great either. I would give this an average score. It was leaps and bounds better than CA: BNW and The Marvels, but certainly a step down from early MCU offerings. -
Can The Minotaur in the Fog be soloed?
ShardWarrior replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
I suspect you are right and that the main reason is more one than the other. I very, very rarely see Labrynth runs being advertised in LFG, at least on Excelsior. I have run around and explored the Labrynth a few times myself solo, but I have not bothered trying to solo the Minotaur. -
How artists can protect their work from AI

No doubt. This is the nature of software, for better or worse. I would not at all be surprised if there were already ways to circumvent this program. -
Paramount Moving On from Kelvin Timeline Trek
ShardWarrior replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I certainly would not disagree that Voyager had some stinkers for episodes. I think it safe to say each of them had their less than spectacular episodes. I included Voyager myself because if there is one thing that the modern (meaning Discovery, Picard and SNW) Trek series have proven is that the worst of Voyager and Enterprise did not suck so bad after all. I guess we did not realize at the time that we had not seen the bottom of the barrel yet. -

I agree on both counts. One lesson I hope the new management learns is to do more with less. Focus more on the story and character development rather than the visual spectacle. That is a big part of what made TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT successful. The stories need to be character driven, not VFX driven. -
I know you jest. 😄 I found Snarky to be very competent and capable.

Paramount Moving On from Kelvin Timeline Trek
ShardWarrior replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
No thank you. I would prefer a return to form for an optimistic, hopeful view of the future, not dark, doom and gloom from Picard. I adore Shatner and the character of Kirk, however as each post TOS series has shown, there are more characters out there other than the TOS crew to grow the Trek universe. There are a lot of stories to tell. I just hope Kurtzman is shown the door. -
I have encountered a surprising number of "veterans" who have no idea how to play either. This is not a phenomena of new players only.

The work that OTOY has been putting out there has been beautiful. I think its wonderful they are also doing work to digitally preserve the work from the various Trek productions for posterity. As a fully ordained Archbishop in the Church of Shatnerology and graduate of the Shatner School of Toupological Studies, I of course adore Shatner. With that said, I think its time to move on from the TOS characters and their stories. I would rather see the Star Trek IP move on and continue the journey with new characters. What Skydance needs to do is find people who care about the IP and its legacy and start hiring writers who are actually familiar with the property. -
"The hope is to have a fresh “Star Trek” movie, though the studio has moved on from the idea of bringing back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and the rest of the ensemble from the J.J. Abrams reboot." https://blog.trekcore.com/2025/11/paramount-has-moved-on-from-a-star-trek-kelvin-timeline-sequel-film-says-new-variety-report/ I cannot say I am surprised. I do hope there is some serious re-thinking of what to do with the Star Trek franchise now that Skydance is in control. The last several offerings have been absolutely abysmal in my opinion. Moving on from the Kelving timeline seems a wise choice, although I will be sad to see that cast go. Casting for JJ Trek was never the problem in my opinion. They were all great choices for the roles. The issue was poorly written scripts and the lack of understanding as to what set Star Trek apart from other science fiction. The attempt to turn it into a generic sci-fi action popcorn move franchise was not the direction to go in. Here is to hoping that Trek gets to rest for a while again and come back better than it has.

I agree with this. I would be all for shortening the length of events to a week or two instead of a month or more.

How inf much is “just enough” to give?
ShardWarrior replied to BlackSpectre's topic in General Discussion
How much? I will let Sir Patrick answer. -
Having been traveling abroad over the last few years, I find that Paragon City in particular is very bland in that there is a lack of different cultural design. Paragon City does not have a "Chinatown" or "Little Italy" for example. I always thought it would be fun to have different areas like this in the game. Mostly I say this for selfish reasons in that creating environment objects and architecture could mean we get some of those for the base editor, giving us something more than generally "technology" and "arcane" themed items. 😁
