  1. I certainly would not disagree that Voyager had some stinkers for episodes. I think it safe to say each of them had their less than spectacular episodes. I included Voyager myself because if there is one thing that the modern (meaning Discovery, Picard and SNW) Trek series have proven is that the worst of Voyager and Enterprise did not suck so bad after all. I guess we did not realize at the time that we had not seen the bottom of the barrel yet.
  2. I have seen plenty over the years, unfortunately. Mostly for the reason you mentioned.
  3. I agree on both counts. One lesson I hope the new management learns is to do more with less. Focus more on the story and character development rather than the visual spectacle. That is a big part of what made TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT successful. The stories need to be character driven, not VFX driven.
  4. I know you jest. 😄 I found Snarky to be very competent and capable.
  5. No thank you. I would prefer a return to form for an optimistic, hopeful view of the future, not dark, doom and gloom from Picard. I adore Shatner and the character of Kirk, however as each post TOS series has shown, there are more characters out there other than the TOS crew to grow the Trek universe. There are a lot of stories to tell. I just hope Kurtzman is shown the door.
  6. I have encountered a surprising number of "veterans" who have no idea how to play either. This is not a phenomena of new players only.
  7. The work that OTOY has been putting out there has been beautiful. I think its wonderful they are also doing work to digitally preserve the work from the various Trek productions for posterity. As a fully ordained Archbishop in the Church of Shatnerology and graduate of the Shatner School of Toupological Studies, I of course adore Shatner. With that said, I think its time to move on from the TOS characters and their stories. I would rather see the Star Trek IP move on and continue the journey with new characters. What Skydance needs to do is find people who care about the IP and its legacy and start hiring writers who are actually familiar with the property.
  8. "The hope is to have a fresh “Star Trek” movie, though the studio has moved on from the idea of bringing back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and the rest of the ensemble from the J.J. Abrams reboot." https://blog.trekcore.com/2025/11/paramount-has-moved-on-from-a-star-trek-kelvin-timeline-sequel-film-says-new-variety-report/ I cannot say I am surprised. I do hope there is some serious re-thinking of what to do with the Star Trek franchise now that Skydance is in control. The last several offerings have been absolutely abysmal in my opinion. Moving on from the Kelving timeline seems a wise choice, although I will be sad to see that cast go. Casting for JJ Trek was never the problem in my opinion. They were all great choices for the roles. The issue was poorly written scripts and the lack of understanding as to what set Star Trek apart from other science fiction. The attempt to turn it into a generic sci-fi action popcorn move franchise was not the direction to go in. Here is to hoping that Trek gets to rest for a while again and come back better than it has.
  9. I agree with this. I would be all for shortening the length of events to a week or two instead of a month or more.
  10. How much? I will let Sir Patrick answer.
  11. Having been traveling abroad over the last few years, I find that Paragon City in particular is very bland in that there is a lack of different cultural design. Paragon City does not have a "Chinatown" or "Little Italy" for example. I always thought it would be fun to have different areas like this in the game. Mostly I say this for selfish reasons in that creating environment objects and architecture could mean we get some of those for the base editor, giving us something more than generally "technology" and "arcane" themed items. 😁
  12. Even this is too much effort. This just invites debates into where the memorial should be placed, what zone, what area, what it should look like, what shape the plaque should be and so on. Again, we already have the flexibility to create a memorial however we see fit inside a base and can provide as much or as little access to it as desired. No need for any HC involvement.
  13. I believe you have misunderstood. The point was that creating a super group with the sole intent of building a memorial or shrine as a base that will be open to the public does not require the roster to be filled with people. Most bases are purpose built or built with a very specific theme in mind, and not all of them have the available space to build a memorial honoring members who have passed on. There may also be a desire to keep things how they are after the person who built the base passes away. I inherited the Amazon Army SG after @Heraclea passed away. @Heraclea built the whole thing the way he wanted and was very proud of his work. I could very easily build a shrine to him in there, but I prefer to keep it intact as he built it. I could, however, very easily roll an alt and start a "Heraclea Shrine" SG and build a memorial to him in there. Each of us can do the same and create a separate SG from our primary one. Anyone can build whatever memorial they want. Bases are in the public domain so long as the entry code is publicly available, and the base will be seen by as many or as few people as those involved with creating it want. Advertise the code on Discord, here on the forums, in-game and on social media and people will visit. There is also a base directory listing for each server.
  14. Which in no way prevents anyone from creating a memorial for a friend or loved one that has passed on. A specific SG and base can be created with only one member and its only purpose can be a memorial park or shrine of some kind.
  15. No one is denied creating a memorial for a loved one or friend in game. Custom memorials can be built inside SG bases and everyone can be granted access to visit them. It leaves how to best remember someone who has passed on where it belongs - in the hands of those who knew them. I do not think HC should get involved with adding memorial NPCs throughout the game and open up that can of worms. It will undoubtedly lead to hurt feelings, quibbling over how/where the memorial NPC was placed and the like. I say this as someone who made a request to add a memorial NPC of @Heraclea in Cimerora. Having had time to think about it, it makes sense for HC to not get involved. If the folks here can provide something like the hologram base object they had suggesting might be an idea. that would be fine. If not, that is fine too.
  16. There are already letters, numbers and some symbols in the editor as objects for players to create plaques or memorial walls. People have been using these objects to make all sorts of signage and branding. It is cumbersome and tedious to place each letter one by one, but it can be done. Base access codes can be shared publicly so anyone outside the SG can visit.
  17. Unfortunately, yes. I can empathize with you and others on that point. I do not profess my suggestion to be the ideal solution, but it is a pragmatic one. Unfortunately, there are a select few who decide to ruin the ToT event for others every year. There is precedent for game changes being made due to the bad behavior of a select few - see the removal of converting EMP merits to Merits. Many suggestions have come about over the years on what to do about AFK MMs. None of them are real solutions in my opinion. Reporting them does not work. It is unreasonable for GMs to be on hand in every instance to monitor every ToT site and take action. I would rather our volunteer GMs not get flooded with support tickets about AFKers ruining the ToT experience either. AFK MMs who are not in a league cannot be kicked from a league and they are still able leech XP from everyone else even when not teamed with anyone. Moving to a different ToT location on the map does not work as they just follow and set up show. They are in multiple instances of PI. The only other options I can think of would be to convert ToT into an instanced raid like the MSR was, or have "MM Only" instances of PI. At least if an instanced raid, AFK leechers can be kicked and removed from the instance or separated from everyone else and not negatively impacting anyone. I was on a league earlier this morning and there were AFK MMS and Doms teleporting mobs away from the league. Everyone moved to a different instance, and they just followed setting up shop in PI, PI2, PI3 and PI4. Some tried moving to a different area, but they followed there as well, ruining the fun and experience for others actively engaged. Again, I do not profess this to be an ideal solution, but it is an unfortunate practical one. I never expect this to be implemented.
  18. Alternatively, have all ToT mobs that spawn immune to pet damage and teleportation. AFK MM problems solved.
  19. No idea. I was merely pointing out that some information is available.
  20. Last I recall, the discussions revolving around what to do to memorialize players that had passed on was that HC would not be adding any new memorials for players outside of the HC team. One idea that was floated about was to utilize the existing hologram tech (like the new badge tracker in Pocket D) to create a hologram object that could be placed inside a base. This would allow players to create their own memorials how they wanted instead of HC getting involved. Going the hologram route sounded like a not insignificant challenge being that it would involve storing costume data inside the base code, so do not have any illusions or expectations that it will appear in the next issue, if ever. It was just one idea that was suggested and discussed. I do not think HC will entertain the idea of adding in memorial characters for anyone other than people involved in coding and maintaining the game.
  21. Information about the Memorial NPCs that have been added into HC is available on the Homecoming Wiki. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Category:Memorial_NPCs https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Infurno
  22. Would love to see more form fitting futuristic body armor type textures for costumes.
  23. Various new stuff that I thought turned out kind of cool. Here are two of my alts from The Paragon Corps. Paragon Guy - Energy Blast/Psi Armor Sentinel. Had so much fun with this one, I rolled another! Paragon Jessica - SD/Psi Melee Tank (super fun combo!!) Superia Prime - SS/Inv Tanker Thought this was interesting in that it did not try to change the logo to the Superman S, but did use the Superman font for the title. I guess AI recognizes the influences!
  24. I like this costume! Very cool!
