  1. Scripting update: wrapped up what I was previously working on, so I can now move on to The Specials, in earnest. I've got some basic notes. Will mull/flesh out basic idea some more (probably bounce it off @Darmian again, whose lore knowledge is invaluable). Plan to start basic scripting this Saturday. May have some more questions about SG premise and such, to ensure I get the feel right. Anyhoo, looking forward to the challenge!
  2. Tagential, but LRT pretty much forced me to (at long last) memorize AP badge locs in order to unlock it quickly. Got the circuit down pretty good now.:-) I don't know jack about Praetorian badges though (including how to get back there and grab them if you never were gold side? is it even possible?).
  3. Doesn’t jibe with at least one user’s response in this thread, so obviously someone has a use for it. “Suckage” is subjective, unless all you’re doing is unimaginative number crunching. Assuming you’re soloing, and you want minions to travel using your chosen mode of travel, then that use is obvious. For players hacked off by the power, they can visit Null the Gull and switch it off. FYI: I only responded to you because you latched on to this subject for (seemingly) no other reason then to remind the populace how much you dislike the power. Mention it once, it’s an opinion. Mention it multiple times (including making a thread whose only purpose seems to be contradiction) and it appears obsessive.
  4. Three unsupported negative responses on this topic. Thank you for trolling. Enjoy your echo chamber.
  5. It isn’t if you have ground-bound minions and flight is your primary travel power.
  6. Arc is up! End bosses: Difficulty all about powersets/ATs. Pack some Insps. Fight smart. If your toon is tricked out, it'll probably be easy enough. That said, my exemplared Incarnate had to pop some Insps against a couple of them, and got whittled down pretty good on one of them. Thanks to @Darmian for once again providing invaluable feedback! (like: "Um...hey...you forgot to place a rescue you mentioned...yeah...").:-) Thanks in advance, Crane
  7. I was hoping maybe they were thinking of incorporating some AE arcs as missions. No such luck, I guess.:-)
  8. I created a new toon on the erroneous supposition that I could plant them on top of the Void disc and spray havoc below. Ended up with Sonic/SR Sentinel, which is a combo I've never played (and wouldn't have considered, save I wanted to float above everything and just dodge the hell out of it).:-) Anyhoo, once I got over the fact that I was stupid (again [sigh]), I decided to solo this redside guy to 20, then get to blue the old fashioned way via tips. I'm likely one of the few people who just hates The Radio contact, so I just continued with papers in PO. Since you can also pick up tip mishes to get Exploration badges via the new Tips system, I would grab the paper mish, then slowly plow my way to the door, street sweeping along the way, hoping to collect the badge mishes. In a short time, I was able to get 3 of them for the zone, which I collected along with the papers, which led to the bank mishes, where I did the objectives and the sides. While I'm sure the intention of the Explore tip was to encourage street sweeping/badge finding, I gotta say I like the synergy when you're soloing. You can grab the explore badges as you play, dropping them organically right into the LR TP (assuming you have it). Good stuff!
  9. Running lowbie papers via Drea the hook. Got sent to AE for one of the missions. Clicked on the green column, just like I would for a normal AE mish. Is this new? A glitch? Did I miss something in the update?
  10. Wasn't an evening run (U.S.) so traffic was relatively light. Plus, it was redside. THU is usually my evening gaming night. Might see what I can scare up tonight.
  11. There's a few decent temp powers after KR banks (which grant raptor & jet packs). There are some temp attack powers in side mishes. Regrettably, with all the freebies from P2W, there's no non-nostalgia reason to run the safeguards outside the exploration badges.
  12. Well, I advertised for a lowbie Port Oakes bank team, and actually got 5 peeps (2 of them were exemplared 50s). Couldn't get to 8. And when I broadcast for mishes leading up to the bank? Crickets. I'm planning on running the character to Blueside via Tips. I'll continue to seek teams, but don't have super high hopes. It's enough to make one develop a star allergy...:-)
  13. Radios do grant contacts though, if you’re unlocking story arcs.
  14. Yeah, seemsh the Shadow Shart kinda shucks ballsh doeshn’t it?
  15. Usually, zero. I've probably used a grand total of 5 respecs for all the characters I have, since joining HC. My style of play doesn't really necessitate it (casual player: usually on default settings when I solo; tend to drop characters post level 30). Now, if I were constantly incarnating, or trying to be a godlike solo artist, I certainly might look into it.
  16. Obligatory toon pic: Chillin' at the base after a long FF run... (And correction: This version of Acro is a Brute--no wonder he seems to do more damage):-)
  17. Toured the base briefly earlier. Flavor! Cool conceptually and interesting to navigate. I have no idea you could put together something like that. Certainly fits with the basic SG idea and theme. Acrobattle (version 2) joined up, then ran with a team that was running Frostfire via Ouro. Team of 3, set on +2 (or maybe it was +3). Was like running a farm. Got to 18 by the time it ended. Hoping to hit the magic 30s before too long. Thanks for the feedback on baddies and mishes. My current Leviathan arc features come 5th Col, and some customs. I might use that as inspiration for a custom nemesis for the Specials. I LOVE the idea that they're "off the grid," ethically gray. Wide range of things we can explore there. It'll be a bit before I have something concrete, but will be doing some initial scripting this week. On that: I'll work on developing within the 30s range (with cap at the SG max). Gonna do some lore review to tie the Specials in to the game world in a significant (and logical) way. Thanks again. This is all cool stuff.
  18. Thanks much, kemosabe
  19. Hey @Grindingsucks, sent you a message asking for invite for Acrobattle (a reboot of my main from Excelsior; currently a L10 Staff/SR scrapper).
  20. Peachy.:-) I've been scripting arcs under the assumption they're being run solo, so going at it from a team perspective will be great fun. On that, what specific elements would you like to see? Is there a specific tone you're looking for? Do you have any special nemeses in mind for the Specials? Is there a particular type of baddie you'd like to see? Any zones you want the adventures to focus on (I write a lot of stuff with King's Row in mind; I'm assuming the Specials aren't tied to a certain zone, but if they were, I could focus on that). I'll work on getting some additional slots, then mull over some ideas. When I get something finished, I'll label it with the "Comic/Issue #" upon publish.:-)
  21. Doooooooooo it........:-)
  22. I'm definitely down to join the party here. Also: I do SFMA AE content, focusing primarily on lower levels (which my latest arc firmly pegged at 30-35). I'd be happy to script some arcs specific to these levels/this group, if this were desired. If you want to preview what I can do, just do an AE search using cranebump in the search string.
  23. Late to the party, but I would be interested. Not entirely sure about #4. Does that mean we cannot solo, then come back and help someone run the same story arc?
