1. Tell me more about this. I find O2 boost to be weak. Back on live, I really liked it for the end drain resistance and help with disorient, but I don't see as much of a need for that these days. That said, I could absolutely be missing something. P.S. Thanks for all the good recommendations! I'll try them out!
2. What I wonder is whether Winter Packs will be so overbought this year that they won't get back to 25M before winter event 2022 kicks in...
3. Thanks! I'm so new to it I had no idea that "chunk" was what I was looking for. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1429;694;1388;HEX;| |78DA6593CB4F535110C6CF6D6F455A5EA5B4E5551E050A88148ABA3424881A0D182| |2892C9B865E4A93D2920251972E5C181FD1152BA331310151170205DDF80886E8DF| |E033EE4C7C241AA30B739DDEEF9336E126ED6FEE7766E6CCCC3D67F4DC70D9C3E31| |70695567124159B9B8B0E1B53463A6E641DA3B1447252C9E39C984E66532D13C974| |BC445E03FF3DA2430B5353E1F1F94C76263ABE3033934927D389BA9DD5D3B174C28| |8874F4C1AD121C93CAF5C63994C2A7C2C954C4CCF97C3CE9B12E4B4DEC6670D235E| |699923464C52CC4D2767AB8FCE2627C36399B3927154B218D9F3B55244487E976CF| |2A7E52B3435F549572AA22BDB459BC5A7F935EB311D6A896BCBA07E8F5C01F73C20| |EF83976D4CAB4CA5AD6896F64C343BF672D8DFD82D6DEF5BF21DE87C4F7E00CB3E8| |25724D6C15A1C55C857E6062B3C640D58E52507107B55624B185BB2AA2CAD7A8DCC| |81359BE406E87B8D193C1794B2E6D27EF4E63B00D60E9087C0FA832473BD9058176| |7EB5A46BEC6BBE03541396AB29773EE8D39AC356D924F4097145F893CAAF22F7A2B| |15CDCDF9BAD9EF96B87BD8A7877D36B1CF967592FDB6B0C656F6AB493E2FF379EBA| |1D945F3635F9BDF274640FCFD642D785DF6ACE37CEAD8471BCF4FDB0F72106C8F60| |BD3D3F548F9C1DC9DFC0FC0DFCA6EDFC9621F614149F00EAD2023DA82B44DE9034C| |DECB7997B87B877E74DF874DE22EF80DDB7C197E216646CF011CE49F72AB906EE5B| |2737C81CB82DB11D8CED58C3BEFBD7C91CB901F63E2637C16D49D1C57EBAD8472FF| |94AD67A388F9E9FD8ABEF37F90774CB3CC2FC4E61CEC8235A3FB5FE25F47F4ADFB9| |D766A3BE738FF3AFA6A9467629637AD17DB5942F4E51B462E5EB2EE55B41B16927C| |5E8D455A4159546CEA0BAEFC53E8BA8AEEF33A611F9050ECAB18DB0DAAA9A827DD8| |5FB07BBD057BB1C87F2B58B0954F6E0ABA30FF01F9B8E757| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
4. At the risk of revealing the depth of my ignorance, I have to ask… what are the 801s? And what on earth is 801.A etc?
5. My fire/fire/fire blaster’s title is “ALL-OUT-WAR” and description is “if you aren’t playing so aggressively that you occasionally get kicked off teams, you aren’t being aggressive enough”. Really large aggregations of mobs make me salivate at the sheer carnage I’m about to reek. No fear! Death just means an instant rez and a bit more learning gained. If you want to be safe why not play a tanker? (Note: play however you wish. I’m not judging and prefer more safety myself at times. But, if you get into this style of play, it’s a blast!)
6. Thanks for pointing out I missed the data chunk. It is added. And thanks for this build, I'll check it out!
7. I've been using this build since shortly after Homecoming went live and this alt is so much fun I still play it regularly. It's a blast to play and handles +4/+8 content without much trouble. Still, I'm a much better player than I am a builder, and I suspect this build is not pereto optimal, meaning that it can probably be made better without giving up anything. I like the powers chosen and the incarnates, but I could easily be convinced to switch Power Mastery for Mace or some other mastery. In particular, I love having three rain powers and I find hurricane very helpful. All thoughts welcome! 8. I've been playing this new build for a few hours now and I have to say, it really is an excellent build. The slow resist is nice and it has a little more KP protection. Just about the only thing I'm going to tinker with is putting more slow back into Hot Feet. I'm noticing having to hunt down more bad guys than before. Thanks again for this build. Very, very solid.
9. It's been 17 months since I originally posted and I thought I'd give an update. Although I've had a lot of altitis, this character remains the one I play most. I've tried again and again to make other builds and other classes that I find as fun, but I have not found one. The closest is my storm/ice defender. Not as potent, but lots of neat toys and a good wallop (at least, for a defender). The one major change I made was that I slotted RotP with the Overwhelming Force KB->KD. Because this is a blaster and I play very aggressively, I do die. Not often, maybe once in a typical TF, but when I do die, I need to be right back in it and I find I often have Inferno up. I was finding that knocking everyone back on my rezz was reducing by DPS by making Inferno less effective. I also stopped using Barrier long ago. I just found I wasn't dying enough to need it. I use Ageless Partial Core Invocation for it's extra recharge. After hundreds more hours playing this toon, I find that "The Inspiration Mash" is amazingly effective. I don't even bother to see what inspirations I have, I just gobble them all down (note: I have it set so I don't receive rez inspirations and I have binds on my move keys to change any set of three inspirations to damage inspirations). After the Mash, I jump into a group, do extreme damage and often have a little extra defense or resistance as well. I've been fighting a lot of carnies and Malta lately (just the arcs I'm playing). They are a lot of fun because they are more challenging. In particular, Carnies phasing so you can't damage them makes it tough on a toon built to kill things quickly. Not loving the holds either. Still, I have a strong record against them. I find Freakshow to be more problematic (to my DPS). Because they rez, and because I like to be thorough, I find myself sticking around to kill those who have rezzed instead of diving into a fresh group. I should just ignore them and move on, but I can't bring myself to leave stragglers. Really, the only thing that gives me trouble is very closely packed groups. This build can take down any group of +4/+8 enemies quickly, but I live on the edge and take a lot of damage. If two groups are aggroed I'm toast. One particularly memorable beatdown was in a large room packed with Malta everywhere. probably 6-8 groups worth. Death came instantly every time the "untouchable" wore off on RotP. Now, that was a long, hard slog. Surviving the Dwarf/Dark Nova ambush in ITF also is challenging (if I use my usual super aggressive tactics). But, really I love this toon. So much fun to play!
10. I have to say that I appreciate it when a TF, or iTrial leader gives a bunch of expectations in the chat to start. I don't ever feel It's an issue and tend to follow the directions given. On ITFs in particular, I'm guilty of #2. Most times the groups disappear so quickly that I figure that going my own way and taking on groups myself speeds the killing process by reducing the insane amount of overkill if we are all together. However, if the team leader asks us to stay together, I will. My advice is to go ahead and make the expectations known.
11. Don’t forget defense amplifiers which you get either from the P2W vendors or super packs. While not impenetrable, they make a substantial difference.
12. I strongly dislike Banished Patheon because I find them constantly getting between the camera and my character making things difficult to see.
13. I just realized that I've been reading this IO wrong for years! I thought it was "Mocking Bereavement", which I thought was pretty cold but would definitely be an effective taunt...
14. I dump a LOT of recipes into the system, all at 5 inf (since that's the minimum Wentworth cost and it's one thing to give recipes away and another to subsidize them!) and I'm amazed at how many DON'T SELL. It's probably less than 5%, but still...
15. My fire/fire/pyre is, by far, my best farming toon. Very quick and very powerful. Levels up other toons much faster than other farmers. But, it is an ACTIVE farmer and requires a fair amount of finesse not to faceplant repeatedly. If you are interested in the details, see these posts: Pyropocolypse PyroPROColypse
16. My Storm/ice/ice defender is a monster. Not as good as my fire/fire/pyre blaster, but not too far off. I solo +4/+8 content without trouble (I do have amplifiers running to help with being mezzed). it’s been so long that I don’t remember how it was to level him, but now he solos very well.
17. I saw that too, but I decided that someone had put in a large number of bids for 1 million not realizing ( or not caring) they could get it for half that much.
18. Ha! Made me realise that I'll spend hours sitting here reading threads, but if I have to wait 5 minutes to get the IO I want it irks me...
19. Yes. You can click these as fast as you want. No need to wait for the cards to flip.
20. I've been on many TFs where things are going poorly until I pull out the team insps. Better yet, I have an almost unending supply since they are stored in Email/Character Items.
21. I agree, although they are a bit less liquid. So dumping a large number on the market can either tank the price or take a much longer time to sell than converters.
22. While I agree with the math, I think you are missing a big variable: Time. I just sold 5,000 reward merits worth of converters and it was a LOT of clicks and a lot of time. I usually don't mind clicking a lot, but this was enough that I got to thinking that the clicks weren't worth the extra influence I received. Oh... I'll probably keep swapping merits for converters and selling them for 70K even though I don't need the extra money, but I TOTALLY sympathize with anyone who decides to just buy PVP recipes instead.
23. I didn't realise that! Thank you @Piecemeal! Well done!
