  1. Adding Merits to the reward drop-down for the Prisoner Event and the Family/Longbow Events could be a good place with minimal complexity for implementation. The Paladins themselves give Merits, but the Construction Sites don't . . . but we also know that whole event is going to get rebuilt, so it's definitely on some form of radar. Raves and Fires . . . I suppose tying the Merits to the Badges would be possible, but once a player has got those Merits on a given character; that's that. At least there's a whole series of Badges related to fire-fighting, so plenty of opportunities for repeat visits. And then, I also would like to see some Rave/Fire'esque events added to some Redside Zones to better balance things out. But that's a discussion for another thread.
  2. Yes, @Itikar! At last! It is GLORIOUS! After fifteen years . . . my OCD . . . is satiated. (For now! Dun dun duuuuuuuuun!) https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/32386-focused-feedback-tasks/ Being able to cherry-pick the appropriate Brokers (and Detectives too, I guess) for my characters is a deeply satisfying experience.
  3. Totally subjective, as I've not got in to testing this change yet, but I am very pleased to see Placate Powers included as viable Set destinations. I look forward to defeating an energy with a Psionic Proc in Pacify! "Just . . . go to sleep. Forever."
  4. I am very pleased with the Broker/Detective Dismissal feature. I tried a few various conditions while dismissing (including having another player inside my Mayhem mission from the attempted-dismissal-target), and wasn't able to break the feature. Seems solid.
  5. I'll echo that the Tombstone icon is . . . not ideal, snipe or otherwise. It just looks muddy and nondescript, and doesn't really explain what the Power does. I can live with the Meteor icon, since it at least is "readable" in terms of what a player might expect from it, even if it isn't as unambiguous as it should be. And since the Homecoming mantra is apparently "as good as or better than Legacy/Retail," I think pointing to examples that were below even their own standards for Power Icon readability isn't a great idea example to try and justify these two anomalous Power icons.
  6. Lots of creative solutions! Great to hear!
  7. Like others here, I feel no pressing need to use any of these new Travel Sets. Nothing about them seems particularly appealing. At most, it feels like they'll just interfere with my current Converter roulette routines. I'm guessing the D-Syncs are supposed to be restricted to level-50 characters? Might be worthwhile to explicitly state what level(s) they are meant for, so it's unambiguous for all players. The Ice Mistral Set seems like a good opportunity to explore a thought I've had recently. I'm still compiling my personal-use data on Set Bonuses, but I've noticed that VERY few Sets use the 2.5% and 3.75% Recharge Bonuses, and most of the ones that do apply them at the 5 Piece Bonus. For your consideration, what if Ice Mistral's Torment offered the following Set Bonuses: 2-piece: (Small) 3.75% Recharge Time 3-piece: (Moderate) 7% Accuracy 4-piece: (Large) 10% Slow Resistance 5-piece: (Large) 1.875% Max HP 6-piece: (Huge) 3.75% Defense (Area) and 1.875% Defense (Fire/Cold) or 2-piece: (Small) 3.75% Recharge Time 3-piece: (Moderate) 1.5% Max HP 4-piece: (Large) 10% Slow Resistance 5-piece: (Large) 9% Accuracy 6-piece: (Huge) 3.75% Defense (Area) and 1.875% Defense (Fire/Cold) I kind of like the duality of Slow Powers which grant the player an early opportunity for Recharge Bonus, but naturally scaled to a lower bonus value to balance it out. It would certainly make this Ice Mistral's Set and Slow Powers in general more appealing to me. And if not Ice Mistral's, then perhaps this kind of model can be examined with future Sets. Hell. Split the difference. Give 2.5% Recharge or 3.75% Recharge on the 2-piece bonus for any of these new Travel Sets, and I would actually consider grabbing Travel Powers for reasons other than character concept.
  8. I think they removed Buzzsaw's requirement. Probably during SCoRE, but at least since Piecemeal added the new content under her at level 30. At the very least, I haven't had Bling on any characters when I started Buzzsaw's Level 25 arc, and I've done it on at least 10 characters.
  9. A Dream Mastermind Set could be rather interesting, @Diantane. Mastermind Sets tend to be the most standardized of all, so here's a framework you may be able to expand upon with your idea: Tier 1 - Quick Recharge, Low Damage Single Target Blast Tier 2 - One to Three Minion-Rank HenchPets Tier 3 - Moderate Recharge, Moderate Damage Single Target Blast Tier 4 - Basic HenchPet Upgrade Power Tier 5 - One to Two Lieutenant-Rank HenchPets Tier 6 - AoE Blast (or Unique Blast, such as Necromancy's Drain Life) Tier 7 - Unique Signature Power Tier 8 - One Boss-Rank HenchPet Tier 9 - Advanced HenchPet Upgrade Power If you would like any additional help fleshing this out, let me know. I'm happy to assist with New Set design.
  10. I'm not asking everyone to be perfect angels. I'm just hoping some people will stop themselves from hitting "Submit Reply" when their message buffer is full of something decidedly antagonistic.
  11. A number of forum regulars seem to have a particular bugbear regarding yet another individual who is expressing unpopular opinions and some erroneous assumptions. I can understand being frustrated about that. But does anyone really think that escalating things with snide comments and flagrant insults is being helpful? Or conducive to a sense of community? At the very least, some of you may want to consider giving the GMs a break from having to step in on such threads. If a particular poster annoys you, please consider using the Ignore feature. I really don't like advocating for this . . . but between that and having to see posts of -pointless- aggression targeting a single individual poster over trivial banality . . . I'm afraid I have to promote the Ignore option. At the very least, maybe I've painted enough of a target on my own back with this thread to deflect some of that vitriol away from your other target. (To the members of the community who continue to reply in those threads with nothing but helpful advice and friendly questions; thank you for your patience and understanding for the variety of different people who exist within this community. Please, keep up the good work there, and thank you.)
  12. (Sorry, @Itikar. Bob is a little more sarcastic-looking than I would have liked, and I don't actually think you're comment is a baseless complaint, but your post did kind of illustrate one of my points quite handily.)
  13. Not to completely hijack your thread, @MadCow99, but given that a dedicated Whip Set is already one of the most often requested concepts for a new Power Set, I'd like to propose a question to everyone: How long would you be willing to wait for someone to create new Whip animations before just accepting that we have 4 functional animations already, and with some creativity, those can be stretched to make a whole Set? (For example, please see @Steampunkette's proposal, or my own: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/27171-whip-melee-because-whips-are-cool/ ) We've already waited 11 years. Isn't that long enough? Obviously this won't pop out in the next Page's update that's hitting Open Beta (presuming no disasters) tomorrow, and there's an extensive list of other Sets that should also already have been made . . . but we've got enough resources to make this happen right now, even without making new animations (let alone animations which Legacy Devs explained were PARTICULARLY challenging to get right).
  14. It bugs me a bit too, @MadCow99. It's just that in the grand scheme of things that "bug me a bit" with this game, I'm more concerned about a laundry list of issues that I feel are more pressing. However, as far as issues with a small turnaround to get a solution, popping Becktrees outside (or at least closer to the entrance inside the precinct) feels like it should be relatively inconsequential to slip in to an update. Sure, some things might go wrong given the overall fragility of this game's code, I believe the odds of success are favourable. The real hurdle, as I see it, is convincing a Dev (in the case of editing maps, I think it would be @Faultline) that the collective convenience this offers players outweighs the following factors: - Dev time to make the change and confirm it works correctly, and then work that change in to the scheduled patches. - Contending with players who may complain that it "dumbs down" the game (there are some VERY vocal people in this camp). - Contending with players who may complain that they feel the positions of the Contacts/Dectectives/Brokers/various NPCs are perfect as-is for any number of personal reasons. - Contending with players who may complain that all Detectives and Brokers should receive equal treatment (or at least the Port Oakes Brokers). And that's assuming any of the Devs (let alone the one(s) responsible for map changes) will care enough to get to that level of consideration. I've personally found it impossible to convince any of them to care about something they don't already care about. I'll be rooting for you, MadCow, but I'm not sure I can be much more help than this.
  15. Good idea, @Arbegla. I'd like to see that Yellow-target tech proliferated all over the place.
  16. I'd say Chewie is less of the Ultimate Badass, and more of the Ultimate Bruiser.
  17. Seems I'm fairly unusual by a number of criteria. One of which appears to be https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/12631-packrat-at-17/
  18. A beautiful sentiment, well said, and bears repeating! Keep up the awesome collective community action, everyone! Please continue to be this exemplar which is needed more than ever.
  19. I used to do this, but then I was shown the incredibly broken Revival, from the Super Packs. Same premise, but doesn't take up room in the limited email inbox.
  20. I don't have a precise guide at the moment, @noneofyourbusiness11, but if you poke your head around https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/60-tools-utilities-amp-downloads/ you may find some helpful resources there. OuroDev is also a handy resource last I checked (although I recently discovered several of the pages I had bookmarked are now broken/missing). I know @Solarverse has extensive knowledge with sound replacement, so they may be willing to give a hand here.
  21. DoT is Damage Over Time. Lots of Sets have them; Fire most of all. Water has some too. I think what would really differentiate an Acid Blast from Water Blast is the Damage type. Which would be Toxic for Acid.
  22. The problem with that argument is none of the rest of the game's narrative functions that way. Whole sloughs of story arcs make broad sweeping generalizations and assumptions about the player's character which are false, but do not prevent any players from engaging with them based on Archetype or Origin. The "sanctity" of the "Epic" part of the Epic Archetypes' story arcs isn't really worth preserving in an environment which haphazardly claims "be your own hero/villains/[whatever]" at the same time as "well, except, don't." Let players make their own choices as to which story arcs they want for narrative purposes. Let players make their own choices as to which game content they can experience for whatever personal reasons they may have. Apply a consistent approach to player agency.
  23. Some of these ended up really fuzzy still. Some didn't even come out at all. . . . we should probably hire a professional photographer or something next year. and bonus:
