  1. Remember: high end scrapper builds are finely tuned beasts. Taking Confront means not taking something else. This is called an Opportunity Cost. I would argue this impacts scrapper more than any other AT (though my reasoning gets flimsy when compared to Brute and Tanker). Therefore, I actually think a buff to Confront is warranted. My suggestion are indirect though Give it an additional shorter duration high taunt mag, or some sort of forcible target switch. Reason: be realistic. A single target taunt on a 75% resist class isn't going to upset the meta. Regen v Hami days are over. So this will just give Scrappers a way to rescue low health brutes and tankers. Spawn 1-2 enemy pseudopets on top of you. They are invisible and untargetable, but any auto-hit auras will affect them. Reason: this is less so a power boost than a power smoother. This would have the effect of enhancing any auras that scale with nearby enemies (example: Against all odds would now register 1-2 extra targets), which feeds into the idea of using Confront for dueling. A simple +crit rate buff would be a straight buff, where I've veered my other suggestions towards utility, but the opportunity cost means it would probably be fine.
  2. Mastermind launched with 4 primaries, got a 5th the next issue, and a 6th set 11 issues and 4 years later. I think we'd be happy with 4x4 set options to launch with for any theoretical new AT. And I'd say a single primary and secondary for testing, but that might generate the wrong kind of hype to have it in the test server that long. Anyway, thanks for the insight. This has me a lot more hopeful about the direction on this than when it was spoken of in the past.
  3. I mean, that part was a joke, but maybe tone down the aggression?
  4. I think if you guys cannot see the connotative differences between "Tanking" and "Corrupting," I don't think we can fundamentally agree on this topic. Like I said, I can get over it. But "corruption" is never a thing English speakers associate with virtues, and it does affect players' choices. I happen to know one.
  5. New Suggestion! Rename Dominator > Martial Assault to Ninja Assault. This will pave the way for a real Martial Assault down the road. And with that, I'm adjusting the title and inviting y'all to throw in your own renames you'd like to see! (no mechanical changes, please. We have an entire board for those)
  6. Yeah I was thinking smoke is hot, but also concealing. It would at least make for a good customization theme. As for Corruptor... I feel like your examples are quite a stretch. While I'm capable of ignoring the name and building the AT, the person I play with the most is basically incapable of building Corruptors, entirely because of the name. He is just absolutely incapable of ignoring the name and the implications it says of his toon.
  7. @Nightmarer The i22 changes were really solid and sorely needed for Stalker... In a vacuum. One could argue they achieved it by mostly turning Stalker into a Scrapper+, but it definitely ended half a decade of failing to perform at its core role. Ahhh how I still wish they were melee/manipulation instead. Clearly, the answer here is to give SM to Stalker first. Seems to be the place for scrapper sets that's low-risk since no one notices the Stalker versions (pun, I think?)
  8. Suggestion: Change Stalker Fiery Aura to "Flameless Gas Fire Aura." 😋
  9. Burning bushes are not invisible. But smoke obscures! It's a stupid little detail, but it's always jarring to me to imagine an Invisible Human Torch. Change Stalker Fiery aura to Smoky (smokey?) Aura. No other changes necessary. And then uh... we should talk about renaming the entire Corruptor AT, since that name doesn't make sense across the morality spectrum.
  10. Truth: Energy Melee basically drove me to quit the first time. I didn't necessarily have any skin in the game - one of my hundred characters was a EM Tanker that was probably level 30 tops - but the fact that they just weren't interested in fixing old content when they could monetize new (kinetic melee came out) frustrated me and kept coloring my perceptions of all their decisions. And then they laid off BAB pretty much as soon as power set Customization was far enough along to not need him any more. That was enough to get an already disenfranchised fan to unsub.
  11. Maybe. It's good to give data. Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if this is more than one bug at work. But I take issue with assuming the guy who made the changes doesn't know what he's talking about. Put in the fix we know is needed while gathering data about additional problems.
  12. I feel strongly this, but also that sometimes I want to customize a thing to look completely different. What I'm saying is I'm a human capable of holding 2 contradicting viewpoints, ok?!
  13. Say there was... ohhh I dunno, a melee damage IO set that proc'd aoe damage. Would that also gain the Gauntlet benefits? This is not me trying to give you ideas for how to improve ST sets. I don't know where you got that idea, but i like it!
  14. Err. How many enemies were around you? Lots? Was this tested in a fire farm? If you are surrounded by over 17 enemies, then the lack of an aura taunt will cause them to de-aggro, because a new enemy will take their place. As CP mentioned earlier, Burn inherently creates lots of instances of opportunities for the AI to try to run. It's only the taunts that keep them from overcoming this, normally. I don't see anything in your test that contradicts CP's assessment (and uh, he's the one who sees the missing conditions in the code). EDIT: that said, I wouldn't be surprised to find there's more than 1 bug at work, here. The testimonies of Taunt (power) overriding fleeing enemies is very strange.
  15. Yeah, and I absolutely agree with you there. I think something Jimmy is alluding to though... I don't think even then it's as easy as flipping the flag to "player selectable" without issues popping up. I don't even know if this game loads NPCs and PCs the same way. Obviously, I am a fan of enabling all the easy ones if such things exist. I am not keen on this "unique NPC" rule. I could make an exception for basically everyone related to the Well of Furies but... that's about it. EDIT: EGG ON MY FACE! Thanks, Jimmy. 😄
  16. Good example picture for why "it's just clipping" isn't the full story. Silver Mantis looks great. Desdemona's pants, on the other hand, require Desdemona's top to even function: (and there are a lot of pieces like this)
  17. I like the Cape metric... but a lot of these parts aren't just "clipping." They have holes, where they aren't cut along the normal lines and you just see through your character. I'm also not terribly keen on the "unique character" part? I get it, especially stuff like... Ms. Liberty's sword. I can understand. But I also feel like we'd put them to good use elsewhere. The Lamashtu example is actually a perfect one -- this character appears in a single questline in First Ward, and they aren't exactly memorable. Those costume pieces also happen to function quite well, at least in the NPC editor. Another good example is Mirror Spirit. This is a really minor character to have what appears to be a unique everything. I'd rather have these pieces than, say, all the Freakshow arms (which technically meet @Jimmy's laid out criteria).
  18. I feel the need to give Synapse some credit. They were working under different design constraints than Homecoming is now. Particularly, I don't think they were fundamentally able to recognize and change their own design trajectory to just accept that IOs were broken, some early sets were wildly out-of-touch, and their whole game was broken in the best possible way. But it wasn't a one-man show and I think decision-paralysis hit them hard, as a company. Not porting Stone Melee felt safe at the time. Like not buying that winning lottery ticket. Anyway, that era is way past, and I think Stone Melee would be a lot easier to port than Super Strength (which I absolutely hope doesn't just get Build Up. bleh).
  19. * Prestige sprint customization (Bright, Dark, MinimalFX) * Flying versions of Martial Combat animations (I understand that may be hard with Storm Kick, since it's a new animation, but I think Dragon's Tail and Eagle's Claw both make you "stand on air") * The handful of other "Dominator/Blaster versions are missing customization" powers that I suddenly can't think of. EDIT: * Two handed animations even when using a shield!
  20. I uh...
  21. For the record... Knockdowns have pretty much always stacked. If you perform 2 attacks with low-mag KB at roughly the same time, you will get a knockback as it combines over 1.0. This is something you occasionally see play out via overwhelming force thing, when it's own proc fires in addition to the powers natural (converted to low-mag) KB also kicks in. Only point of this post: While there's very obviously something going on with kb procs atm, it isn't the magnitude.
  22. This proooobably explains that bug from a few pages back where Fury is showing in the Enhancement page? Ok, sounds like Brutes talking more about the Burn running and Avalanche issues others are reporting being in this thread. I'm guessing this is what @The_Warpact's SGmates were seeing as well; which is a valid issue not directly tied to the damage cap nerf (but would still have the same net result of, say, fire farms suddenly taking frustratingly long). That's the goal. This had more to do with consistency than anything. If you see any Brute Epic powers doing more or less damage, it's a bug.
  23. It's better to compare a 775% Brute to Blasters than Tankers. Run that comparison first, before looking too hard at Tankers. No they aren't. They read a patch note that said they were nerfed and now they're convincing themselves they can tell. IF they travel everywhere with permanent Fulcrum Shift, or have some other wombo-combo solution to keep themselves at damage cap, they will suffer a ~10% damage decrease. Those very same Brutes (again, reliant on party members) are also building Fury more consistently.
  24. They definitely need some tweaks. If it's not to caps, then it's something like containment to situationally rise above those caps. ...But then, I'll never actually play one seriously as long as I have to override my custom character with the exact same squid as everyone else.
  25. I like this. I find it interesting that you did not have a specific call-out about finding 10 Lost in KR. I remember that being obnoxious when I did it a few months ago. Just finding Lost in KR is... awful since the zone refactoring.
