I dont think it actually does anything to affect the rage crash. Even if it did I would rather not have to take 3 extra powers to make Rage work like it did when the game was live.
-
No.
-
I ignore recharge in the set unless it is a set bonus and focus on a good mix of resist/defense and endurance. The set bonuses you get is the trade off for slotting less than 1 endurance and 3 defense or resist IOs.
-
They’re never going to be equal, because Ice has Defense to Smash/Lethal, which is often paired with Fire damage, but not always. In fact, you probably have it backwards; Fire is likely more vulnerable to Cold than Ice is to Fire, because of that defense. Also, Cold usually comes with -Recharge, which messes up Fire with its reliance on its self-heal, while Fire Damage rarely comes with any other side effect. I honestly am not even ready to get involved with this discussion of Fire vs Ice yet...because neither one is even remotely close to being on par with WP, Elec, Shield or even Invuln for that matter. Until Ice and Fire gets the love they need to bring them on par with WP and the other top ranking sets, I'm cannot even be concerned with how they stack up against each other. Ice is good, do not get me wrong, but it pales in comparison to WP and the other sets. And personally, to me, Fire seems very gimp against anything other than the silly farms Fire Tanks like to do....which makes them useless in my eyes. My Fire brute is gimp against heavy Psi and Toxic and I have to pay attention and heal with Energy and Negative. Hardly gimp overall. In exchange for those weaknesses I can lay a burn patch, have a damage aura and another damage boost that works for 20 seconds and can still boost damage even if a Kin has me at the damage cap.
-
If you feel you need it. I self PLed Spines, SS, Rad and Electric /Fire and did just fine with the inspiration drops while taking additional AoE powers. That power gives half the numbers of health and half of stamina. Since fire gets very little out of more regen you would be better slotting for endurance. However, I would just leave 1 slot in there and slot it with the Performance Shifter proc as those additional slots could be put to better use elsewhere.
-
Yes it should be better but only at certain points (excluding external damage buffs) and that is the hard part when porting to Scrappers. Energy Melee and Stone would be easy as they would be direct ports with Scrapper damage modifiers for the base damage. But the same thing done with SS woud make Rage a constant 100% damage boost. Even at 80% the Scrapper would out perform the Brute at fury levels that would make them equal in every other set. The hard part is figuring out the percentage that puts them on the same level as say a WM Scrapper vs WM Brute. I would say 62.5% as that is the same boost as other Build Up types in Radiation Melee and another set I can't remember off the top of my head.
-
4.31% heal 7.5% endurance. And no level makes no difference.
-
It is inherently better to use incarnate abilities to take care of endurance issues and get Elec Fences and Ball Lightning instead of physical perfection.
-
Oh, Justin is down. Well there goes that plan. For a good incarnate guide go here. Ageless refills your endurance bar and gives increased recovery. It starts out high then decreases over time. The higher tiers last longer. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3804.0.html
-
Ageless Destiny FTW. Mine also has 2 performance shifters going off and can swap out the Numina heal for Panacea proc for even more random + endurance. You can always go on the test server and try out all the builds and see what fits you best. Far better to spend a couple hours doing respecs and changing enhancements for free vs spending hundreds of millions of inf only to find out you don't like it.

That's not really a valid comparison. The problem with Super Strength on Scrappers is really related to Rage. The set as a whole is balanced around the idea that you have an 80% damage buff up pretty much all of the time. The problem is that an 80% damage buff is a lot more powerful on a Scrapper than it is on a Brute or a Tanker since Scrappers have much higher damage modifiers. Functionally speaking an 80% damage buff for a Scrapper is more like a 120% damage buff for a Tanker or Brute. So at an absolute minimum if you ported Super Strength to Scrappers Rage would need to be nerfed to about 50% damage boost to keep the damage output in line with Brutes. Even then you might find it a bit to powerful due to Critical Strikes. Would have to be just a hair higher to be equal to Brutes. Normally at 50% fury Brutes and Scrappers will do equal damage outside of crits. Scrapper Attack: 150, slotted w/ 100% damage 300. Add 50% rage 375. Double rage 450 Brute Attack: 100, slotted w/ 100% damage 200. At 50% fury 300. Add 80% rage 380. Double rage 460 50% would put them below this threshold but 53% would put them equal. Another thing to consider when comparing the 2 ATs is that Scrappers for most sets have a higher damage buff with Build Up and similar powers vs Brutes. So during that 10 seconds with 100% slotting for damage, instead of 300 they would do 450 but a brute instead of 300 would only do 380. So for all other sets, the scrapper does slightly more damage over time. At base recharge this means around 55% on Rage would make the difference between a SS Scrapper and SS Brute about the same as any other set. Then that brings us to another issue. When you compare 2 identical sets and have the brute at 50% fury and exclude crits, the Scrapper version and the Brute version are exactly the same. Over time including crits, they are the same at 65% fury. Where things change is with Build Up combined with recharge. The more often build up is used, the farther the scrapper pulls ahead with the exact same attack chain. If you have Rage nerfed to 55% then a high recharge SS scrapper would be roughly the same as a high recharge SS brute where every other set, the scrapper pulls further ahead with more recharge. So if they were to port SS to scrappers they have several things to consider. If they nerf the Rage percentage too low then SS will suck on Scrappers and all the work that was done will be futile as almost no one would play the set. If they leave it too high, then it becomes super popular and everyone is running around with SS/Bio Scrappers stomping everything to death and popping Parasitic Aura right before rage crashes. (Don't pretend this isn't why we want SS on Scrappers) Finding a fair middle ground would take a lot of work and I would not expect that of people who are bringing the game to us without getting paid for it. So even though I would love to see it, I don't expect that port any time soon.

This is something more focused on killing speed and regen as opposed to high defense and resists with a slower attack chain. It still has respectable defenses and with RTTC and Dark Obliteration debuffing To Hit is close to the same as being soft capped for most things. Gloom would be your main single target attack after KO blow and that drops To Hit even more for your main target. When rage crashes you have Darkest Night which will drop the To Hit by another 16% ish to everything 25' around your target. Unlike other builds here, (where my Fire brute has more HP) this one is close to 2800 and will heal 95 points every second with 1 mob in melee range or just over 150 if you have it maxed out which gives you more breathing room when mobs hit you with stacking defense debuffs. Edit you may want to swap around the sets in the melee to fit your play style. Probably punch and haymaker as the +end/regen proc is more important than the +fury one and you would be using haymaker more. The full Avalanche set should not be used on Footstomp. It has chance to KB which when added with the KB from footstomp will send mobs flying. With WP as your secondary you want those mobs in melee range adding to your regen and getting hit with a -to hit.
-
Basically, as you exemp, you start losing attacks and armor, as well as the set bonuses slotted in them. I think i will try out your build. but could you explain why you choose the earth epic pool. i mostly see people pick scorpion shield and the like. what makes the 3 powers or sets so important? Earth epic is crap. Your one AOE power is on a 64 second cooldown. You can have the same slotting with Fire for the exact same bonuses. Fire Cages vs Stone Prison, Fire is faster cast time and higher damage with same recharge time. Char vs Fossilize, Fire is lower damage in this case but since it is slotted for holds, its primary purpose in this set would be stacking holds with KO Blow. Both have the same hold duration, but fire has faster cast time meaning more time you can do damage with other attacks. Fireball vs Stalagmites, Fire is higher damage, faster recharge and faster cast time. The only thing that makes it any good is a chance to stun. However with footstomp, you have plenty of mitigation already for most things.

Au contraire mon frer! https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Limits#Damage Tanker Damage cap at 21+ is 400% You're 100% unslotted. Plus enhancement. Plus Rage. Plus Rage again. Direct from the page you linked. Consider for a moment that you are posting on the BRUTE page. Maximum Maximum total Damage for players depends on Archetype and (usually) level. Archetype Maximum Damage Brute 775% Blaster, Corruptor, Scrapper, Stalker 210% at level 1 500% at level 21+ all others 200% at level 1 400% at level 21+

Soul patron has tools to offset the defense part of the rage crash but that means likely skipping at least haymaker in exchange for Gloom and your attack chain at lower levels would suck. I'll do some tinkering when I get home
-
Planning on doing low level stuff or mainly lvl 50 stuff?
-
The damage cap is +675%. Double rage is 160% plus slotting for around 100% for +260%. Not even half of the cap. At high levels you can mitigate a little by dipping into soul mastery. When rage crashes hit the toggle to lower to hit. 4 slots gets you -15% to hit combined with the aoe to drop another roughly 5%. That offsets the defense crash for the most part.
-
The damage penalty has always been there. The defense hit is more recent and the way it is now never made it into the live game. How to get around the defense issue is to not play a defensive based set unless you cary around lucks to offset the crash or use rage sparingly and make sure everything is dead before it crashes.
-
All depends on your preference. I like Agility due to having recharge in addition to a little bit of recovery help and it adds just enough defense to get me over the soft cap of 45%. Now the endurance and defense are not really needed with the rest of the build, I just like it. Interface is more of a personal preference as well. Degenerative I imagine works better on things like EB/AV types with higher HP. Bosses and lower melt pretty fast already so I just went with the higher damage proc as I will normally be on a team if I am going to be fighting AVs and a farmer is not going to set any records on the pylon times.

I worked on Agility Core as well to help with endurance then Ageless helps as well. I didn't bother with single targets when I was filling everything out unless there were only a couple left due to end issues. Tough is not needed, and eventually once your fire resists get high enough with the winter sets you can turn off one of your other fire resist toggles and still be at 90%. I used weave off and on when filling out defense. 2 small lucks plus weave got me over 40% so then I used it until 2 lucks alone got me there for example.

I personally don't do budget builds and then move to a final build. I started with the same template at 50 and started with the least expensive things and worked my way up for the most part. The Chance for recharge in Footstomp is the one item you will want to slot first. After that I filled out the Uniques in Health and slotted Stamina. All attacks started with 1 Accuracy, 1 Endurance, 1 Recharge and the rest damage. I slotted out Consume first as that set is pretty cheep, then got all the LotG and then worked on filling up fire defense with Aegis and finishing Weave and CJ. The last thing I worked on is slotting attacks as that is where the big cost comes in. With purple sets I got somewhat lucky and was able to only have to buy a couple by making any purples that dropped and converting them into something I could use. Side note, for just pure solo farming the Comic Con farm, the same basic Rad/Fire build is just as good when you have a macro to combine everything into reds as both end up being near the damage cap. Where SS shines is when there are several people on the team and inspirations drop much less often.

I may try the slotting Gaussians on Fusion since it is a minimal change and could increase damage output. I had considered the extra HP but just didn't have the room for it and in this case I don't think I need to trade off a little damage for a little survivability. In the rare cases I do end up dying it is normally from several sources of toxic or psi damage that would destroy me anyway and that extra 100hp or so would offer little help. Oh what I wouldn't give for 1 more slot.
