  1. I would suggest trying to use that on the test server before spending all that money. It will not work out the way you think. You cannot use the Standard and Superior of the same enhancement. Mids/Pines may let you but the game will not. Also Hybrid is not a true toggle as it is only up for 120 seconds at a time then off for 120 seconds. So only half the time you will have the bonuses going.
  2. Friend of mine was quite drunk this weekend but he still manages to kill stuff just fine and he enjoys farming. He let a lowbie tag along for quite a while and I believe managed to get them all the way to 50. At the end the no longer lowbie offered to give him 70 million for his trouble. In his drunken state he opened a trade window and GAVE the guy he just PLed 70 million inf. In my early days I had a spines/dark scrapper. I found a farm that worked for me, all psi damage. I had no understanding of mechanics, I just knew that these mobs were easy to kill and didn't affect me much. So I invite a friend to help on my farm.....an Invuln tank. About 5 seconds in he faceplants and gets mad for inviting him to join me on something he was not really able to help with. I have learned a bit since then thankfully.
  3. Some tweaks that should solve all endurance issues. With this you can turn off Fire Shield when doing fire farms (assuming no s/damage) and still have capped fire resists and still gets capped fire defense without having to use Maneuvers.   7. Honestly for farming you don't need anything. I do just fine with my spines/fire brute and he has nothing of any sets in him at all. Hell he doesn't even have IO basics just the SO 53s I have picked up along the way. That is the entire point of AE farming is you make a map or run only maps that cater to your build. In this case a fire build that natively has maxed out fire resistances. Go in with a load of purples and click as needed. If yo are alone you will get more then enough drops to keep them full just burn the reds and yellows and blues as you get them and I set it so I don't get rez and breakfrees at all. I have farmed this toon solo in the AE since he was like 32. Start off slow and build up to what you can handle. And now between his fire resistances and the level shift from the alpha slot he is farming +4/8s with no problem. And like I said no real investment. Heck if you are AE farming just do one run every 3-4 for tickets instead of drops and you will have more then enough tickets to redo SOs and don't even have to spend money there either. Considering I don't plan on ever playing the toon outside of the AE farm or demon farm maps I see no reason to spend influence he is earning on making him any better since really I probably would not notice the difference. Spending influence on a build makes a huge difference in clear speed, not to mention making it easier to live (IE not needing to rely on purple + blue inspirations as much). Now now how much influence to spend is another thing. You can get a pretty cheap build to be very effective, but I woudlnt recommend So/generic IO level cheap. A purpled out build is awesome, but you dont need that if you dont want to do a lot of farming. Exactly correct. I have capped resists just from the fire set so Oranges=Reds. I have enough accuracy built in through IOs so Yellows=Reds. I have 45% fire defense so Purples=Reds. I have 0 endurance issues running with all the toggles and sprint slotted with run speed so Blues=Reds. Because of the high resist and high defense and heal in the set Greens=Reds. Thanks to all that I can easily get 1 mil per min outside of drops. I have heavily invested in my farmers and now I have tons of money to support my other characters and if I feel like rolling another, spend 5 min farming and I have plenty to support them through most of their career.

The game is not balanced around IO sets (speaking of a broken record) so thinking people should have to invest in IO sets just so they don't die while using a signature power while playing a defense based set is a bit unreasonable. The defense debuff never made it to live as it was still being tested when the plug got pulled. All that we are wanting is for the set to play the same way it did when the game was live.

  10. The formula again Right, I get that. That gives 1.41% (rounded up). Yet, when I looked at all my toggles and added them up it came out to 1.55 end/sec, not 1.48, so it's .07 off, unless those numbers are rounded when looking at the details on the powers in your enhancement screen, because they don't show more than two decimal places? Yes they are rounded so you are not adding up the true numbers, you are adding up rounded numbers which throws things off. The total in your combat attributes does account for the actual total and then rounds that to 2 places so even that can be slightly off, but it will be the closest to the actual number.
  11. Here is how to test if it is static or not. Make a random brute on test server. Pick something with a lot of toggles. Do the command to get them to 50. Level them up and pick all the toggles you can run with nothing slotted. Before you pick lvl 35 powers take note of your numbers. Your endurance will be 110 because on test you are given all the accolades. Your recovery rate will be at the base with unslotted stamina of 2.08% per second and equal to 2.29 end/second. Lets go with Spines/Dark and run all those toggles before Cloak of Fear. If you include Cloak and all the others it will put you over the top and you will be slowly losing end and we do not want that in the test. No toggles from pool powers, just the 2 damage auras, 3 shields and stealth toggle gets you at the static number of 1.92 end use per second which translates to the non static percentage of 1.75%/second. Now at lvl 35 pick Superior conditioning. This will add 5 more endurance to get your total to 115. Since recovery is static it will stay at 2.08% but will increase to 2.40 from 2.29 end/second. Since your end use is static it will stay the same at 1.92 but your use as a percentage will decrease to 1.67% from 1.75%. Either something changed with your build to cause extra endurance drain or you are just wrong about what you thought your numbers were before.
  12. It is fine as is. Yes you do have to slot for accuracy like every other attack. That is hardly game breaking.
  13. 1 will get you protection most of the time. 2 will not add much as many of the high KB attacks that are higher than 4, also happen to be more than 8 mag. 3 will have you almost never knocked back. So if you are going to invest in more than 1, you may as well plan for 3.
  14. It is a set that is very hard on your endurance bar and you have to heal pretty regularly until you get some defensive set bonuses which was not what the OP is searching for.
  15. Gonna have to agree with the others. For mindless ease ptetty much Random/Willpower brute. Fire armor is great for AE mission with just fire damage. It can be built to be quite sturdy to life outside of AE but that is expensive and time consuming. Willpower is far better on just SOs for mindless ease. You could even so spines or rad melee as they have damage auras. Go and grab a sandwich and if anything wanders by it will likely be dead when you get back.
  16. I'm sure I have had bigger mistakes but yesterday in my haste to buy a piece of rare salvage I hit too many 0s. Some lucky person got 5mil instead of 500k.
  17. But disabling common/uncommon drops doesn't mean you get more rare drops, it just deletes them out of existence. Which is a bad thing for salvage, since everyone uses salvage. You really want Luck Charms to be 500k a pop again? They can't go over 10k for common, I think 100k for uncommon and 1 mil for rare. Well until the extra 10 million that the devs put on sale are gone at least.
  18. logically extending those numbers to the damage cap (500% for Scrappers, 775% for Brutes) yields 618.75 for Scrappers (averaged crits), 581.25 for Brutes. Without crits factored in Brutes do more damage at their cap. Counting crits on average scrappers do more. However they will probably be killing stuff around the same speed as many times that bonus crit damage is wasted on stuff that would have died without a crit or would have only had a sliver of health left. AV/Hero fights are when the scrapper really does better as all the crits count and at most only 1 shot would be wasted. I had a vague recollection of brutes beating scrappers at their respective damage caps, but I didn't check that and it appears I was wrong. That being said, it is a whole lot easier to get a scrapper up to the cap than it is for a brute.

In the parking lot behind the capital building I managed to launch them over the grass area and over the fence into the 2nd lane of the street.
  21. Ok so I went to test and built that defender. Power Boost+Nova on a group of lvl 1 Hellions launched them ....well I'm not sure how far. I don't think they have landed yet. They could have just melted as well. They were there then poof, gone.
  22. Pines does have a setting for average damage and it does appear to factor in the increase chance if you have the Scrappers Strike slotted.
  23. If you are counting at lvl 50 having damage slotted then Scrapper due to crits. Edit, now that I am home and have Pines up.... At the same level with both unslotted, the brute does equal damage to a scrapper at 25% fury for the same attack (there are some select differences but true for the most part). With both having 3 lvl 50 damage IOs the brute does equal damage to a scrapper at 50% fury for the same attack. Neither of these includes crits and is just for base damage. Around 65%ish fury will average out to be the same damage over time as a scrapper but the scrapper will have the occasional spike with crits but the brute will have higher regular damage. All of this changes once both pop a few reds or have external damage buffs. Then the scrapper pulls ahead until they reach their cap at +400% damage and the brute does not catch up until they nearly reach their damage cap of +675%. Even then with crits, the scrapper does more over time. So solo, if neither use inspirations they are around equal damage once the brute gets rolling. With a good distribution of party buffs, the scrapper will pull ahead in damage but the brute will be more durable.
  24. This is as close as you will probably get. Sonic defender primary. Take Sonic Repulsion. That is a toggle you put on a player and it knocks back everything near them. 3 slots endurance reduction 3 slots KB. That gets to mag 17 knockback whenever that person gets within 10 feet of anything. The downside is it costs endurance every time it knocks something back so you could get drained. Step 2. Energy Blast. Anywhere you would normally slot damage on a blaster, slot KB instead. Better yet use Force Feedback sets so you can increase your recharge often and use Nova (Mag 50 KB) and Explosive blast (Mag 11) as often as possible. Also be sure to get power boost as well. This set will help you keep your friends from danger by preventing anything from getting close to them while also protecting them from damage with your shields. Oh, in the event you run low on endurance be sure to also take Sonic Cage and cast it on the toughest target before your protection/KB toggle drops. That way since you can no longer protect your team with your awesome KB, you can at least prevent the boss from attacking your team....or from being attacked...for 30 seconds. So if that were my goal, I would do something like this. I went with Ageless so if you have too many mobs being knocked back and you are getting drained you have a means to recover for a bit. Also Hybrid support so half the time you are at or near defense cap. I kinda didn't have room for disruption field but since the tanks duty on the team would be to plow through everything it seems counter productive to have this one too.
