Even as a brand new character? I bought some, I remember thinking it might be foolish to have an open slot if I had enough to get something. It took a lot of snakes to level up then and we were in a hurry to get to level 14. I think folks can forget what it was like to be brand new.

Yes it got nerfed.. way back. My bad.. It is still playable? Yes and can be effective. My bad about Siren's Call, my bad about the hero hospitals, my bad about TP Foe, my bad for the demoralized tank & scrapper corpses piled high blocking the moon. My bad, my bad, my bad.. I'M SORRY. We're sorry. Can we have ET back now? -Troo Insta-assassin's strike, insta-hide, placate, and stuns save it. It has a lot of control can be built around but the T8 & T9 primaries are throwaways for anything but finishing moves when solo. In a team setting, they are a waste of endurance as the targets are almost always defeated by the time these hit. Is it the top dog? Nope. Maybe middle of the pack with some outliers if they really know what they are doing. Maybe give the old ET just to tanks. No brutes, no scrappers, no stalkers. I would take it and say thank you. -Troo

Given your criteria 1. Stone Melee.. do stone mallets count as weapons? I don't use the mallets (same reason). Air Superiority, Cross Punch, Spring Attack, Ancillary/Epics can make up for them as needed. 2. Energy Melee - maybe you feel lucky and think they are gonna roll back the animation time for Energy Transfer. (everyday I hope for this) 3. Electrical Melee - Fun. Maybe not the best with Invulnerability. Can have 2 teleport attacks with Spring Attack. Kinda swiss army-ish but not like Dark. Radiation might be as good as Stone but I have a feeling it's more like Electrical. Fire and Ice are out due to swords. Savage has a weird (to me) mechanic.

Okay. Not bad for a first pass. (fyi there are potentially 120-ish slots to buy enhancements for on any lvl 50 build) Defense = 47.4% for Ranged Resistance = 38.8% for S/L (51.5% with Tough on) Adding one Knockback Protection would be be a quality of life improvement. Expenses = Gaussian in Aim, Steadfast in Tough, Miracle in Health, Performance Shifter in Stamina Simple IO set build Looked at it for a minute and dropping Ice Arrow or Oil Slick and re-purposing those slots as follows: 2 in Tough (Steadfast Knockback, Gladiators 3% Def) 1 in Explosive Arrow (Sudden Acceleration knockback to knockdown {teams will appreciate it} OR Force Feedback chance for +Recharge) 2 in Health (Numina's +Reg/+Rec, Regenerative Tissue +Reg) There is a lot levers to push and pull with Archery / Trick Arrow. Example: By level 43 (I think) without slotting anything in Ice Arrow or Stunning Shot, Ranged defense is at 40.9% with 12 slots remaining. Is it going to break Pylon records or solo task forces, nah. But you just wanted to shoot arrows and not face plant, right?

Absolutely you can create a budget build for most any character. Will it have all the bells a whistles, no of course not. Will it be fun, sure! Min/maxing isn't for everyone and gets so much attention that sets unreasonable expectations for many new or casual players. I'll take a look and post something here in a bit.

You can dance if you want to. Sometimes that means leavin' a friend behind. When a problem comes along sometimes, you must whip it, into shape. It's not too late, to whip it, whip it good. It's really in careless Whisper's best interest.

Whisper is a great name for a stalker but you know better than to cheat a friend. Stalkers gotta learn racing ahead = clocking out from time to time. If it was me, it's a wasted chance that I'd been given to let them know even if I could keep them alive they're never gonna dance again the way they danced with you. Let's face it, if you could keep them alive taking the alpha you'd never have to ask them to please stay. But, maybe it's better this way, really it's on Whisper, their guilty feet have got no rhythm.

@MetaVileTerrorOkay. You acknowledged that there are limited resources for the game which many play for free. Rather than stick with the drum beat of gimme gimme farmme gimme bashing that is my instinctive auto response. I'll acknowledge that there may be something to what you are suggesting. There is already a mechanic in place to trigger events at intervals (hp bar/time/progress). There are pools of powers from which a handful are selected for bosses. It's possible there is an opportunity in leveraging those functions more to create variety and a bump in challenge which wouldn't necessarily be a just a puzzle or ocean of hit points. All without having to create new graphics. Someone smarter than myself (maybe MetaVileTerror) could figure out how to polish it up.
