Sentinel Energy Blast is absolutely atrocious.

@Sunsette This is the very model of exemplary forum posting...Thanks for bringing a balanced, honest, and rationale view here, and for being extremely civil... -
Powerset Concept: Multi-Limbed Melee
justicebeliever replied to Varkarrus's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You keep making these and I will keep liking them...To be fair, this might be my least favorite of the ones you've come up with...but the animations would more than make up for my lack of enthusiasm...You and I can keep pretending... -
rewards Request: Increase the reward for defeating Lusca.
justicebeliever replied to Zolgar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This must have been lost in the transition...+1 for this Zolgar...It takes quite a while from putting together the team for it, to battling out each arm (which is a GM in it's own right)... -
For the first - here's a great post - For the second... There are 2 parts, and you might have to play around a bit... To target a downed enemy - /target_custom_near teammate alive OR /target_custom_next teammate alive The difference between the first and second is whether you only want the nearest defeated teammate, or to be cycle between several defeated teammates... The second part is to add the power...To put it together I would do /macro [name] "/target_custom_next teammate alive$$powexec_name [power name here]" You might need to switch it around - /macro [name] powexec_name [power name here]$$target_custom_next teammate alive Hope this helps!

New Forum Tricks - Feedback
justicebeliever replied to _NOPE_'s topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
Reading unread content - If you are like me and you want to scan all the unread content, but get annoyed with how it is presented, here are a few tips and tricks: Quick Primer - To set up an awesome unread activity option, go to your desktop and 1.) To Get started - Click Activity on the top toolbar and click on unread content 2.) Want to just read the new content? - if you've used this already and are annoyed that it always starts you at the beginning of the thread, you can go to the Unread Content options tool bar at the top of the content, and click on "Read Status" and change it to "Unread item links take me to the first unread comment". (again, this only works when using unread content activity stream 3.) Is the page too busy? You can select "Condensed" at the top right of the feed... 4.) Want to save your options and make this the default option? Click on "Save as a new stream" on the toolbar above the feed...Once you give it a name, it will take you to the new feed. Want this to be the default? Click the little "checkbox" to the right of the name.... 5.) Easy Access to your new default? On the desktop, there will be a button on the top and bottom of every thread that shows your new activity stream...On mobile, there is a little document like button next to the home button that does the same thing. Note: The "Next Unread Topic" option at the bottom of some posts will take you to the next unread topic in that particular board or sub-forum. It will not take you to the next unread topic in your activity stream. -
I've been afraid to click the "Mark Site Read" button. Does it mark all site content as read? If so, please do not remove the pop up. That would be disastrous for me as I depend on the unread content to know what to read...

Just saying how awesome you were @GM Widower...I wasn't praising anyone else...honest...I would never tell Fiddleback how awesome he is...promise...
-
@The Philotic Knight I'm going to assume you accidentally switched Confused with Laughing...Appears you are right otherwise - sad and confused do not seem to harm someones reputation but doesn't add to it... Just tested on yours!
-
You are the best Fiddleback...Unless Widower is reading...then let's all pretend I didn't say this...
-
Sorry I wasn't clear in my prior response...any of the like options work...it does not have to be the trophy (just tested it, see below). And if you are really in doubt, you guys can test it on me!! 🙂

I get this...I really do...You want a healer, and you aren't going to run without one, so let's make it easier you to get there... My challenge is that, you might choose to take that extra Troller or Stalker, or Scrapper and find out that things were ok. That's any of us found out we don't need a healer per-se...Having selectable builds as an option just kind forces people to not have to revaluate the value of other team dynamics... And maybe you are set in your ways. And again, I get that. But there are probably a lot of people that are on the fence, and this kind of change will rob them of that experience...

Says +10 for you right now @Some Random User. I just clicked the Like "Heart" button... And now you have 11 EDIT: Wait a second, was this just a Nemesis plot to get me to like your post? I see thru you now!!!

How do you think they get those Bowling Pins and Balls? Buy them? Ridiculous...you make them in an underground lab as needed. -
You can put in a support ticket and I am certain our very wonderful GM's (yes, I am including you GM Fiddleback) will be happy to help you figure it out. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/support/

Remembered one of the things I hate about CoH... its RNG.
justicebeliever replied to Jeuraud's topic in General Discussion
Don't tell me you just used Math on this! Don't you go there! Kids these days, spouting facts and using logic. Why in my day, we never looked at the odds...We'd tell our droids to never tell us the odds... -
I played CoH Live with my 10 year old son off and on (my always on, his interests changed) during it's 8 year run. It was a joy to do. Since the shutdown, I've had another kiddo, and he and I get to do the same thing his big brother got to do...Makes me smile all the times @The Philotic Knight those little ones are going to being paying off every year...every year is the best, and every year is a struggle...even after adulthood...Thanks for sharing the photos!

Mine doesn't do that...I'm always happy to give you more Influence Abraxus, but I just clicked your "+51" and it took me to your page and it still says +51. Refreshed the browser, and it still says +51 (I gave you a like on the other thread you commented on, so know you have 52)

I agree...they are not likely to do anything, and if so, they aren't to go after money (there isn't any). My only point was that adding another Hulk isn't going to cause "more damage" or "more risk". There won't be a suit for "each count" of the Hulk being on the databases...
-
I think in the new forums @Abraxus they are one in the same. Liking a post is the same as giving +1...There isn't a separate way to do it that I have found.

This is spot on...Great example of this is when you buy a new/used car, and suddenly your amazed at just how many other people have the exact same car as you...Where were they before? They were there, you just didn't notice them... -
You and I have been around on this on other threads...I agree we really shouldn't have to keep covering this topic every month...The risk is low, the risk is uncontrollable, and there are far greater risks out there...So play how you want while you can...

But abadonware requires that the copyright holder be unknown or defunct, right? And the LOC guidance was limited to the original source code (legally provided, not copied), and had to be played on premises. Just curious your opinion, I have been following this as well...
-
They also said in their Open Letter to Homecoming that SCORE had received a C&D on releasing the game's binaries...So not only are they aware, they are interested in some level of protecting their stuff...
-
We need to separate Copyright and Trademark. Copyright does not need to be defended. It is automatic. I don't even have to publish the work. As long as I have evidence that a.) I created the work first, and b.) that the opposing body of work is too similar to mine to be original, I win. In your Stephen King example, that's what we are talking about, copyright. The example you gave is spot on, but it's not about Trademark, and have a different body of laws governing it. Trademark is an image, symbol, or word that is used to market your stuff. And it must be defended from "poachers" or it can be lost. It would difficult however (not saying impossible) to show any of our fellow players as trying to "co-opt" the trademark for their own purposes. In other words, it's extremely unlikely that this would be an issue, and if so, the damage is already done... (Because let's be clear...Marvel/DC aren't going to get money from HC, and are extremely unlikely to pursue end users (as likely that i would stop posting here), so the best they can get is shutting down the game, and there are already enough examples to do that if they wish
-
There's a practicality question here as well... If WB (DC Comics)/Disney (Marvel Comics), want to shut down HC, they already have ample character names in the database...There is no way, without a paid moderated staff, that HC can police this policy appropriately. The "Cat's of the Bag", so to speak. And HC is in no way using these characters for anything - marketing, imagery, etc...It comes back to a very grey and unsettled area - Fan art for personal use. If the big guns want to play, they'll find a reason...in the meantime, I'm not about to tell one person they can't do it, because it's no adding to the harm...We aren't going to get 10M Hulks/Iron Man/Batman/Superman in the game. We might get that many Dr. Strange's though (he seems to be everywhere...must be a timey wimey stoney thing).
