I can't speak to the costuming, but have you considered using Spectral for the hands and face? White, pale grays, and even some of the palest blues give off a ghostly vibe which can be enhanced via auras.

I'm not consistently on during Tuesdays, but the last couple of ones that I was on, I never saw a Tanker Tuesday announcement on Excelsior. Has that gone the way of the dodo?

I too have a fire/fire/fire blaster. It's simple: if fire doesn't kill it, apply more fire, if they're still coming apply more fire...faster. The trick is in remembering which button is for fire and which is for the fire extinguisher when working with certain Steel Canyon events. I heard one as he ran away. Said something about him hearing ship building being a noble career choice or some such.

Suggest a good Gold-side solo character
Techwright replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
That I have run multiple times before from my Primal universe characters visiting Praetoria. There was a really nice player that for a while ran the event nearly every hour. (I apologize, I forget the character name and global. I wish I could remember as it was as good an act as the folks who run the Incarnate trials, MSRs, and Hamidons.) Just to be clear, are we to cut off right before those levels or during those levels/before exiting those levels? -
I'm still puzzled by the loathing of Cutthroat Island. I saw it premier week, and thought it was a jolly good popcorn flick, nothing deep but entertaining, then the trashing from all sides started. I mean, were they expecting Citizen Kane?

Let that be a lesson to you Devouring earth!

Kind of defeats the D.E.'s purpose if they keep attacking you. Hmm...idea. Don't suppose you could pull from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch could you? Then you and all the others like you stand inside the entrances to Oranbaga and aim in a downward slope. Two birds, one stone. -
Ever come back to a AT + Power and find greatness?
Techwright replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure it's greatness, but after failing to get a fully viable fire/fire tank in the OG but liking the look of my design, I decided to rebuilt it as a brute in Homecoming. Better, but I was still being tossed everywhere. I shelved it for a few years, came back to it several months ago, determined to make it work this time, and started researching and asking questions, which led me to crafted solutions. I'm still trying to squeeze a bit more knockback protection into his design, and he's functioning more like a scrapper than a brute, but I consider him playable now, so...success. -
Suggest a good Gold-side solo character

I suppose that means checking the wiki on each contact. I've never heard of an in-game method for seeing the cutoff. -
Suggest a good Gold-side solo character

Sounds like it might be better not to visit the P2W for an XP boost. -
Nor have I. You may be on to something.

Thinking about finally running through the full gold side, something I'd not done since the OG's Going Rogue. What suggestions are there for a solid Gold solo character? (archetype & powers)

Where is this Little League encountered, and on which of the three sides?

"Working of Debt" is a euphemism for "life". 😁 More seriously, Red has the gist of it, and the graphic at the link they provided will show you the debt. The good news is: debt tends to be very quickly overcome these days. In eons past it used to be a choker, especially if you were just getting your super legs and were falling in battle a lot. Nowadays, especially in a team or league, it will quickly be paid back. I actually had some the other day when I was in league on a mothership raid. It was onscreen long enough for me to notice it, and then it wasn't. Solo play is where it will last longer.

Sorry to somewhat hijack the thread, but since it is dealing with enhancement changes: I've been wondering ever since the change: do people use craftable sets below level 35 anymore? With rapid advancement, and the upgrade function added to the power slotting display, I've found no reason in even adding IOs until level 38 when the level 40s can be slotted and start yielding a higher percentage than SOs. I've personally found no notable reason to deal with set crafting until at least then, but since I still get the recipes in drops, I'd like to know whether its worth sticking in the AH for someone else's benefit, or just selling at a vendor for better INF.

Secret Invasion Trailer

Very interesting idea. One thought on that: I've one other crazy idea, based off my second thought, that the grave might be that of Nick Fury, Sr. : -
Secret Invasion Trailer
Techwright replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Just realized the trailer is showing us a different tombstone for "Col. Nicholas J. Fury" than the one we saw at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. There's a different quote on this stone, and Fury is saying immediately afterwards in the trailer that the battle is personal. It gives me a couple of thoughts: 1. This might be a storage crypt for Fury: weapons, spy gear, etc. Similar to what we saw Sarah use for storage back in Terminator: Judgement Day. While I see the potential, I don't think this is what is in play. 2. This is the grave of black Col. Nicholas J. Fury's white grandfather (or father, depending on how the MCU works), Col. Nicholas J. Fury, the original Nick Fury of the comics, and the leader of the Howling Commandos. It's possible that he took over command of the MCU Howling Commandos with the disappearance of Captain America. -
In multiple sessions now, I've had auction purchases disappear when I click on them to acquire. Specifically, it has always happened with crafted enhancements, and has, so far, only occurred when I'm collecting multiple items from the AH. This last time, for example, I collected two separate IO purchases, and the third IO purchase I collected disappeared. Not in AH, not in the enhancements tray, out the INF, though fortunately, this time it was an inexpensive Interrupt Duration IO. I wasn't so lucky with INF loss on a previous occasion. I suppose I should also point out that there are other purchased goods of various kinds still in the Bought tab when the loss happens. Don't know if that helps, but I'd rather err on the side of too much info.

Is it possible to make like a hideout for your character
Techwright replied to savair's topic in Help & Support
You want Snarky to provide interior design? 🤔 Might as well paint the base black on black, then turn the lights out. $3.5 million inf saved. -
If only ruffled tux shirts hadn't gone out with the early 1970s, this would have been perfect.

You must be doing it wrong.

Last I saw, they'd created this thread: -
Actually, I think I have heard it, though never in parade ground performances. I think I've heard it in bits by those informal groups that hang around the clan society tents after they've competed. Mull of Kintyre, now, yes, I hear that from the troubadours at least once every games.

Secret Invasion Trailer

Intrigued by Ben's Talos being caught off guard by a room full of his own people. You'd think Skrulls would be able to sense other Skrulls or at least be so in tune that they can intuit when other Skrulls are nearby. MCU seems to do very well when they dial up the intrigue. Here's hoping that trend continues. I'd feel better though if the Russo brothers were involved. -
Good News. New Players. Bad news. Teams suck.
Techwright replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
To be fair, they didn't notice the drum bomb, and the resulting explosion startled them and ruined their aim. (that's not bad. I'll use that next time.) Honestly, my personal view after watching you and other leads struggle to herd the cats is that the devs should give the Trial leaders a special whistle only available to the one recruiting or running the event. I suggest something in the range of a coastal fog horn. Then add it a large, centered message window, again only controlled by the lead, that can be triggered simultaneously with the whistle to provide the audio and visual needed to get everyone's attention. Annoying yes, but if the player has the sound off and ignores the message, then they can't claim that they were distracted and not reading the chats.
