Except that isn't what is being done, otherwise I wouldn't be here posting this. You say my point of view is selfish. I think people who demand changes to a game that has an actual warning label on it that warns them from playing the game, are the ones being selfish when they demand that game's graphics be nerfed to be customized just for them. It's one thing to ask for an optional graphics change, it's another to downright demand a forced change for all. I think one sounds more selfish than the other.

You are probably right. I won't deny that. However, I have sat on the sidelines for years and years and have watched some really great graphics get nerfed...graphics that were a part of this game straight out of the box. I feel like I have stayed silent on the subject long enough. That is more understandable, since it was a graphic introduced to the game after the fact. I am not even going to frown upon something like that. I am more specifically talking about a part of the game that was here straight out of the box. That is the part I take issue with. I never said a word about the graphics changes to Sonic...even though it did not bother me a single bit, I understood. What did however piss me straight the hell off is when around i6 or so, people started complaining about Ice Tanks and the graphics they had...suddenly those graphics were nerfed and now we have a shotty version of what it once was. I honestly feel that people had no right to complain about those graphics, but they did anyway despite the warning label on the box. So what happened was that everyone lost out on those graphics due to players who probably shouldn't have been playing video games to begin with. Granted, there will be exceptions, but my finger pointing is a lot more specific that what your friend went through. I am more specifically talking about people who know that they have a condition, but play the games anyway and then demand those games be changed to fit their personal needs. It's kind of like when that woman sued MacDonald's for spilling coffee on herself even though MacDonald's advertised and was proud of having the hottest coffee in town. It's like, what? Really? Except they are not doctors. How could they know? That is why they put a warning label right on the box...a warning label that people just out right ignore. I mean, if they hired a neurologist or something, I could see there being no excuse, but then we are talking about cost and how much of that cost that would rip from the company. I mean, gaming companies don't build their games around people who shouldn't be playing them though. It would be different if they were implementing a graphics option, and if that were the case, i wouldn't be here right now with this post. I have never had an issue with people requesting options to help the game better fit them...however, people didn't ask for an option with the Ice Graphics on Tanks...no, they demanded (very loudly) that those graphics be straight up nerfed. Options are great, they make the game customizable for everyone and nobody's graphics has to affect the other. However, that is not what is happening with Cyberpunk...they are downright nerfing the graphics just like Ice straight up got nerfed here. See how this can bother some people? It's okay that you are pissed. I'm pissed too...we are just pissed for opposite reasons. I won't take it personally though, you have a right to be pissed if you want. I like you, but that doesn't mean we have to like each other all the time about every topic out there, heh.

So I was just about to buy Cyberpunk 2077 and a friend of mine alerted me to this... https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cyberpunk-2077-patch-pc-playstation-xbox-231323433.html She says to me, "Man, if you buy it, get ready for all kinds of graphics nerfs. All the pretty eye candy is about to go bye-bye. I said, "Why? What do you mean?" She says, "Because people who are prone to have epileptic seizures are trying to play the game and they are reporting that the game is giving them seizures and now they are on the forums demanding a nerf to the graphics." I said, "Are you kidding me??? Why are they even playing video games if they are prone to having seizures? Hell, even when I was a kid playing Atari, it had a warning to people prone to seizures that the game could induce them. If I was prone to this, I wouldn't play them!" So sadly, I won't be buying the game now because I don't want to watch what happened to this game, happen to another game that I might enjoy. Here is the problem. I love to read; and if reading the small print in paperback books caused me to have seizures or headaches, I would either buy glasses or stop reading. I sure as hell would not contact the book companies and demand that they print in large print just for me. Yet this is what people do and have been doing for years. This game alone has lost soooo much eye candy and sounds because people are susceptible to headaches or seizures. I watched some really terrific graphics get nerfed like crazy in this game because of people who frankly should not be playing video games, playing them anyway and then demanding graphics nerfs because it hurts their heads in some way or form. Now I am sure that people are going to rip me for saying that I feel needs to be said, but it is pretty damn sad that I won't even be bothering to buy a game I have been waiting a long time to buy because the nerfs are already coming to graphics. That company has just lost my money over this and I don't mind being that guy who is going to tell it to you like it should have been told for years now...but if games give you headaches and if games give you seizures...stop playing them! To me, the fact that is just pure insanity! If the fire burns, keep your hands out of it! If it hurts, don't do it! Hate me if you want to, rage at me if you want to...but that simple logic sadly had to be said. I would absolutely love to do a lot of things, but since it wouldn't be good for my health, I don't do them. Why is this such a hard concept to understand? Why buy a game that comes with a warning label on it (as all games do) and then complain that the game is causing you the very issues it warned you against and then go to the forums and demand graphics nerfs? Really? I thought about holding my tongue on this, but then I had realized this pertains to City of Heroes as well...it has happened here and I still see people requesting graphics and sound nerfs on these boards even after all these years. That crap just makes absolute zero fricken sense to me.

Time to enforce the name holding expiration rules
Solarverse replied to Kazuuk's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This right here. One of the things that made this game unique from others is the fact that nobody else will be running around with the name you have chosen for your character. I will never understand why people want to join a game and then make demands that the game changes to fit their needs. Not the betterment of the game for all, but to be made better for them specifically. Then, those same players get board and leave the game and us die hard fans are left with the aftermath of their wrath. It's like, "gee...thanks for dropping by and getting the game changed in a negative way for me and then leaving after you have finished customizing it to fit your personal needs." I am not saying that all players do this, but I have seen it happen on multiple occasions. For an example, half of the PvP nerfs that have happened over the years were demanded by players who honestly didn't even PvP all that much. They destroyed PvP for those of us who PvPed hard core. They came and tried out PvP, cried about it on the forums, demanded it be nerfed, succeeded, then they got bored of PvP and moved on. Meanwhile, the rest of us were stuck with the nerf that they cried for. This game has ALWAYS had names being unique per each character...let's not change that tradition now...please. -
Time to enforce the name holding expiration rules
Solarverse replied to Kazuuk's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Truer words have never been spoken. I should not have to constantly sweat a character losing a name because I have not logged him in for a while. I will eventually log him in, but I don't want to feel pressured to log him in just for the sake of losing a name. My account is active every single day, that should be enough. Meanwhile, we have people who started off on this server (because it was the only one) created a bunch of characters sucking up a bunch of good names, but then left the server in favor of others, or they just got bored with the game all together. Inactive accounts should lose the names, not accounts who play every day. -

I have all the names you want and they are all level 1. I log them in once a week just to be a jerk. -
Fixing Gravity Control's Lift and Propel Problem
Solarverse replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In all fairness, I think it was the Spines/Regen Combo that got it ultimately nerfed. The Devs never seemed to give it much thought until Spines/Regen Scrappers were farming maps, heh. -

LOL, I hear you there. I have fired Power Burst at Bosses that were at full health when I activated it, but were dead before the power hit the target, lol. It's insane! -
Fixing Gravity Control's Lift and Propel Problem
Solarverse replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The reverse can be said about Mind Control or even Plant. Mind being dead last for Controllers but being #2 for Doms. Plant being #1 for Doms but #4 for Controllers. That's why I say those graphs are indeed supporting evidence, they just aren't definitive. -

As it was also pointed out to me, popularity is not a very good indicator to functionality. For an example, Claws/Regen was the most popular Scrapper set back in 2019, however, we all know that is a horrible combination in functionality. Another example is that /Fire Brutes are the absolute most popular Brutes out there, even though functionality shows us that /Fire is only good for one thing and that is fighting against Fire Damage with no CCs. Not saying that your graph does not contribute to your argument and is not a valid piece of evidence, however, I am saying that it is not exactly definitive evidence. -
Fixing Gravity Control's Lift and Propel Problem
Solarverse replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Didn't they already decrease the time taken for it to animate? I just ran some tests and Propel only has a 1.235 second Activation time between the time it activates to the time the target takes damage. That's pretty damn fast. I would post my video footage with the time scale in place but sadly we can't post in game footage yet. If memory servers me correctly, that is a hell of a lot faster than it used to be. Seems like it used to take a solid 2.5 seconds from activation to hit in the old days. Check it out and get back to me on that. -

Wouldn't that cause you to get too much air when going over bumps? It's pretty easy to ski too high over check points. -

I used Ninja Run and Afterburner...that got me going pretty damn fast, but not fast enough to keep anyone from over taking me. -

LOL. Man, I kid you not, I have seen people get that number all the way down to 32 seconds and I am just like, "HOW!?!?" -

EAgle's Claw changes: what happened?
Solarverse replied to Razor Cure's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If the only changes made in game were only made if the players agree on the change, nothing would be changed at all. -
This makes me want to start a thread and call it, "Hunting Toxic Players" 😂

Against my Better Judgement (Ice Melee)

That's easy then. We can give Frozen Fists the same animation and cast time as Stone Fist (it already shares the same damage) with the same recharge and call it a day. Greater Ice Sword will do well under the suggested change and would hit like a truck. Thoughts?
