No. The game has never provided enough influence just from defeats and mission completion to fully equip a character and keep him or her their until maybe the 40s, even if you include vendoring. That's not counting any marketing done on the /AH. Marketing can easily cover all your needs. It used to be better to just slot drops and vendor the rest until you got to SO levels at 22 or so because buying DOs and keeping them fresh meant not having enough to buy SOs. Now that SOs drop from level 1 on I think it may still be better to just slot drops until your 20s, but I haven't seen or done the math on that.

Yomo's New and Improved Bang-Up Salmagundi Spectacular!!!
Bionic_Flea replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
Man, I could go for a holiday salmagundi right about now. -
Here's the link to Fiery Embrace from city of Data: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=brute_defense.fiery_aura.fiery_embrace&at=brute In PvP it boosts damage, with extra boost and duration to fire damage. But in PvE all it does is add a "flag". When you use an attack and that flag is active, you get bonus fire damage added. That damage is listed in every attack that could be boosted by fiery embrace. For example: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=brute_melee.battle_axe.gash&at=brute Or you can look up an attack in game and under the "detailed info" tab see that it adds a set amount of damage, "Only using Fiery Embrace." As to when that happened . . . it was a long time ago. I'd have to research. Edit: It was changed in Issue 18, which came out in April 2010. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Issue_18

Any teaser what is being worked on? (archived)
Bionic_Flea replied to Troo's topic in Open Beta Testing
Thirded! I'd like smaller releases more often. But I also understand that sometimes changing something over here means fixing something over there and then that fix breaks something else. -
1. Devs don't hate farming (well, at least most don't) 2. Eighteen to be precise. 3. Some brutes have been nerfed, some brutes have been buffed, sometimes the same brutes. 4. Thank you for not lying about your feelings.

But there's an add for delicious, nutritious Enriche!

Uun beat me to it. Everyone also gets access to Preemptive Interface, which can do -recovery. It's funny I ran into this, I was just theory-crafting an Elec/Elec/Mu Controller.

I just binged it this weekend. I thought it was great. Great animation and story. But yeah, this cartoon is a hard R going into mild X territory. Not for kids.

A Pretty Damned Spectacular Guide on Leveling with IOs and IO Sets
Bionic_Flea replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in Guides
I also slot attuned enhancements as early as I can in my builds, except I tend not to unslot or use respecs, with the occasional exception of HOs and purples that I may want to slot at 50. I HATE respeccing . . . a lot. If I can avoid it, I will. Even if I made a mistake, unless it is a doozy I may just live with it and work around it. I used to grab the P2W enhancements and would slot them all in an early AoE, usually a cone. It's a lot of fun to do all that exotic and varied damage in DFB. However, these days I tend to ignore them. I almost always pick up a 2XP at level one and find that level twenty-one comes pretty damn quick. It's also frustrating to me that they can't be sold anywhere so you have to trash them. While starting with SOs early makes a lot of sense from an enhancement standpoint, I just use whatever drops and I can use until I fill the slot with it's soon-to-be-permanent attuned IO. One addition I would make to your guide is the use of a personal base for storage of IOs, catalysts, and other goodies. I have a level 50 that buys and crafts level 10 PVP recipes to then craft, convert, and store in my base as Panacea, Gladiator's Armor, Shield Wall, and the PvP damage procs. I also store catalysts in the base so that when I hit 50 I can grab the 12 - 30 catalysts to turn whatever ATOs and WinterOs I have into a superior version. For those that don't know: at level 50 you start getting catalysts as a drop. It has a pretty high drop rate, but an 18 hour lock out. So you are likely to earn one every time you play your 50s but only one per day. So I periodically have my 50s drop off their catalyst(s) for use by my next project. -
This is Animalistic Flea, a Bio/Claws tank tribute to my son's tabby cat, Ninmah. He's sturdy and lots of fun using beast run to get the zoomies! Here's the build:

Hi Squishey! Welcome home. I play on Excelsior. Although I haven't been on much lately, I should be on a lot more during the holiday season. It's true that red side is a lot slower than blue side. If you really want to feel lonely, try starting a Praetorian (gold side). I also tend to play mostly solo as I may need to stop in the middle of a game session to attend to work or family issues. But if someone calls for help to complete something, I almost always volunteer.

Werner has done some pretty crazy stuff on his Shield/MA.

Why not both? Cap as Martial Arts and . . . US Agent as Street Justice!

Nature Affinity - Corrosive Enzymes

Dude, my mom has never even played. And never will . . . -
Thanks! I didn't see that during my search, but it's a couple of years old, so maybe I didn't dig deep enough. But it confirms a lot of what we've discussed here as well as a CoH Discord I'm in. The one thing I'll add to oedipus_tex's great summary is that I believe the "Stealth" he talks about is the thing that adds the rainbow glow to your character being in domination.

We get an ancient Persia a la Cimerora! What else could it be? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arses_of_Persia -
4. You were too slow to click or activated another power before the auto-click domination was able to go off. So frustrating when I miss the window by a split second.
-
My understanding is that Domination "degrades" 1 point every 7.5 seconds, unless you are in Domination mode, which sets you at 100% for the 90 second duration. That's how you can get perma-dom -- if your domination click power is up and clicked before the expiration of 90 seconds, you just keep it going.

Thanks ETJ. Dang. CoD has 6 different entries under inherent.inherent.domination! The last one you linked has a formula: [MagExpr] points of Rage (self only) Magnitude Expression: 3 * source>Str.kRage * target.EventCount>ActivateAttackClick I think that the "target.EventCount" is the number of players you referred to. And I am guessing that "ActivateAttackClick" means that toggles generate no rage points, nor do any self buffs. But I'm not sure what that means for rains and other location placement powers or pets.
