  3. I discovered yesterday that if you are reeeeeally far away -- so far that you have a targeting reticle but you can't see the NPC -- and snipe from that distance, the sniped dead NPC doesn't fall over until you enter visual range. Something about a tree falling in the woods comes to mind.
  4. Just from messing with the settings, it seems that Death match is for FFA and the other two modes require Attackers vs Defenders. The only difference, from the in game text, is that in FFA base defenses attack everyone and in attackers vs defenders the base defenses only attack non-SG members. I added some base defenses to see. I was able to destroy them and they came back after finishing the match AND leaving the base for a minute or two. However, they did not attack either of my characters as they are in the SG, even in FFA mode. I vaguely remember testing phase and completely forgot about it. I think I remember the issues and thought it didn't make it live. I think PvPers and Base Builders should get together. Fighting in Stadiums, Mazes, and other crazy places would be fun for both.
  5. I just PvPed against my second account in the base. You can choose Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, or Control Points. And secondary settings of Free for All or Defenders vs Attackers. Bonus fun fact: You can attack your base NPCs and some items, but they don't fight back or take damage. I don't have any base defenses so I don't know if those give and take damage. I even got a +1 reputation point for tying with 1 kill each.

  7. Thus was born Psychic Flea! With all the bells and whistles (Intuition, Clarion Radial, Boost Range, and 40% from set bonuses), Psionic Lance is 525 Feet; everything else is 350, except for Psionic Darts, which is 210. Without incarnates its: PL = 375; others = 250; PD = 150. All that with defenses 15-38 alone, softcapped S/L/E with Power Boost or Clarion and just shy with Support Radial. I tossed it together rather quickly and took all the psi blasts, so flipping some stuff should net some additional defense if I lost a blast or two. Oh and with Psychic Focus, Gaussian proc, Build Up, and a few +dam set bonuses, Psionic Lance and Psionic Wail both do about 1500 damage (assuming average procs per Mids).
  8. Hmmm . . . This thread made me start thinking of a maximum range character for a new project. Do you still get XP beyond 210 feet or is it just the badge counter?

  11. Aethers don't entice me to do anything other than to get enough for my badger when they first came out. It wouldn't bother me if it was added as a PvP reward but it would also not make me want to PvP.
  12. It improves defense on Dispersion, Maneuvers, and Combat Jumping for me, that (minus CJ) + the 2 shields for the pets. It also boosts my -tohit in Gloom and Life Drain, my heal in Life Drain, and my Sprirt Ward absorb, and finally a little bit longer disorient on Force Bomb. Oh and +Tohit from Tactics, which affects the pets as well. Not too shabby.

  18. I will need proof that Force Field is now grossly overpowered. From my experience it is better than it was but no where near overpowered, let alone grossly overpowered, but maybe I'm missing something. PS: Dear @GM Crumpet: You just fell into Captain Fabulous' trap. Cap't Fab has been on an ANTI-power creep rant recently and his post was dripping in sarcasm.
