  2. You are seriously overestimating the power of rune. I don't really understand this contempt for the power. As has been pointed out to you already, there's a myriad of ways to avoid status effects without rune. Of the two builds I have with it, I'm more interested in the resist because the mez protection does nothing for me. Hell, if you could pull me a build that uses rune of power, I 100% promise you I could remove the power and make it just as, if not more OP than before. Again, this power isn't meta. High end blasters don't need it. It's a nice off-meta ability, nothing more. (quick edit: this isn't replying to Moka, the original post was hidden.)
  3. Most blasters that do this would laugh at the notion of taking rune to begin with? Rune isn't popular, I really can't stress this enough. This forum would be a firestorm right now if it was on the same level as say, hasten or CJ. You could remove the power from the game entirely and this would have no impact on the high end meta. But it would lower build diversity, one of the game's strongest selling points.
  4. I wouldn't call it heavy handed, it's just the truth. People are so convinced this is outrageous and needs to be nerfed, yet haven't ever used the power and don't understand the limitations of it. Meanwhile, I could just do a bunch of other OP things with the slots that would have otherwise been used to take rune.
  5. Yeah, I have an old min/maxed fire/time build that has it at 145s that I double checked just now. Hilariously broken? Yes. Something so outstandingly broken that it had to be reigned in? Eh, no.
  6. I actually misread that post originally, so I hid that response. It's possible, but it's not exactly an easy thing to do for a non-time character. I just find it humorous that some people think they're the arbiter of what's a deserved nerf and what's not. If I wanted to, I could make a fire/fire blaster and destroy the entire game by pressing burn with perma hasten, high resists, softcapped defenses and all the standard pool choices. But if someone has high rune of protection uptime, it's now a problem? Get real. This game isn't balanced, it never will be balanced, let people try different things.

The other end of this argument is that rune is/was an often suboptimal choice for most builds that used it, and all that was accomplished is making it less desirable for both casuals and 'powergamers' alike. Secondly, I've yet to hear a convincing argument in favor of the rune change. Why did it have to be 'brought in line', and the others not buffed? Unrelenting is so useless that I almost mistook it for a mercenary pet.
  8. I don't know how you guys do masterminds, but usually I'm not afraid to take a hit unless my minions all die. And minions tend to die If you go totally afk, unless you're rocking /time or something. But time should already be softcapped, removing any advantage from exploiting evma somehow.

The defense should exist to keep the lotg in and maybe add some cushioning on an approach, it should not be the focus of the discussion with the pool rework, and it frankly annoys me that people are so focused on that and not the sheer mobility improvements EV-MA offers. Like is this really that controversial? You can control your fliers better now, yay.
  10. Transferred my stalker to the beta server to test SoS and SJ, while clearing a mission I noticed that Assassins' strike was no longer generating two combo points. This is a giant hit to STJ's performance on a stalker, so I'm hoping this one gets fixed before it goes live.
  11. I always loved flying on my ranged characters, but the speed and combat maneuverability could be sluggish and not as snappy as I like at times. EV-MA and the flying rework is amazing and a great addition to the game. Makes all my flyers play much better.
  12. In the meantime, going to make a new post-wipe flyer to test the jump pack/double jump changes.

  15. No, the rune change effectively destroys the sorcery set. LoTG or not, the fly set offers much more for the slots spent on it.
  16. Then the fly pool absolutely annihilates the sorcery pool, especially now.

  18. I might be inclined to agree if the rest of the sorcery set wasn't so underwhelming, practically speaking, rune was the only selling point the set had going for it. In it's current state, I simply cannot justify taking it. I wouldn't call rune overtuned by any stretch, if anything it was perfect as it was, it was different, but hardly meta shaping.
  19. The other powers in the same 'class' are garbage and should be brought up, I would argue.
  20. If I'm absolutely stomping a given Tf, I get it, but if it's just done without warning then I agree that it's a bit sketchy.

  22. If pools continue to be balanced as mediocre outside of 'the untouchables', then I don't really see a reason to be against this. Some builds need the extra lotg.
  23. We just fixed energy to be actually pretty good, why make this suggestion now?
