  1. I get it, you read about a change you didn't like, maybe you're like me and are very...for the lack of a better word, 'reserved' with keeping Paragon's legacy alive in the wake of a new team's changes. But that being said, there's something important people should probably know, as I've seen a lot of people confessing to not actually testing the sets before running their mouth about them lately. IF YOU HAVEN'T EVEN TESTED THE SET, YOUR FEEDBACK IS WORTHLESS. If you've mained energy melee or whatever since 2005, that's one thing, but commenting on the state of a set without even testing it is just an idiotic thing to do. Stop that.
  2. Better yet, give me the option to put 100% of my health into a punch that kills my target and my entire team.
  3. I'd liken it to a limit break or expending a built-up power meter if the game engine allowed for such mechanics. This is the the best thing they could really do with that concept. EM's AoE isn't mindblowing by any stretch when compared to it's competition, but it's not useless. You get your heavy, earth shattering hits. You are not getting full-time fast ET, it's pretty clear by now. Might as well accept the compromise that is the focus system.
  4. 1: The second one won't proc if you whiff it, which is fair. 2: It's not really a combo mechanic, so much as a build/spend mechanic that allows ET and PC to be as powerful as they are in the eyes of the powers that be. 3: They do need to standardize the activation time for all powers that behave this way (hi, Incan strike.), but I don't see the crits being stronger considering the power of the rest of the set. Hell, they made ET crit, which is insane in and of itself. If you have a buddy debuffing stuff for you, you should be the scariest guy in the group. 4: When fighting a boss, sure. When fighting his friends on x8 after you just turned him into an astronaut? You'll want power crash, especially on a stalker.
  5. That's it. 3 stock ultimate final destination, come at me. No, I got what you said, you're just vastly underestimating the stun chances when you consider how fast the attacks are now, how high the stun chances are, and how well the set does at AoE and target swapping now. The rotations are very adaptable. Focus is really just a way to allow ET and PC to be as strong as they are without getting nerfed to oblivion. The -special strikes me as more of a team utility, or leveling tool. Not really my cup of tea, especially when it stops me from using my best filler attack.
  6. Rotations that use bone smasher are a lit less intensive than ep>x>ep rotations. I can run it at 160% recharge and can probably go lower. Even non-BS rotations can stun lock, though. Beating down +4 numina and having her wobble around is always fun.
  7. I can casually lockdown +4 AVs before triangles just doing my rotation. It's really not worth "correcting" for. I daresay this is probably as perfect as the set is going to get, any deviations will likely be less enjoyable.
  8. Going to hard disagree with Bopper and Monos here. The current build is way, WAY better than the first. Bone smasher not being locked away and putting the stun into barrage makes much more sense and clearly leads to less frustration. Imagine not being able to hit your third strongest attack because it will stop you from using one of the strongest attacks in the game. Terrible. But if I want to occasionally stun and debuff someone? Barrage. And again, nobody should have any trouble landing stuns as EM even without focus gaming. Bone smasher by itself is a 60% chance for a mag 3.
  9. Is it intentional for Shadow Step to not benefit from the untouchable status? This still hasn't been resolved. If so, why? Seems inconsistent, if intentional.
  10. I put fold space on my ice/time, it's the dumbest thing ever and I love it. If it taunted, I could get a lot of mileage out of it on my shade. >.> Fire/psi testing next, I imagine it will be the dumbest of them all in the best possible way.
  11. Shaking from the reverberations in the earth as fragments of your opponent's skull are sent into the stratosphere?
  12. Dark armor main here, oppressive gloom and cloak of fear are generally considered skippable powers and it's really not comparable. This thread isn't for petty cat fights, so kindly get to testing or go away.
  13. RiP MA. We hardly knew ya, big boy EC.
  14. I can basically stun lock a +4 av without its triangles. Anyone complaining about stuns hasn't actually play tested the set.
  15. I hate that animation. :c
  16. Are you using it within 100yds of your target? It's a pbaoe.
  17. Just finished a round of dark melee testing, to break the monotony of the travel power discussion and maybe give the team something else to work out. Keep in mind, these tests were done with a purpled out Dark/shield build, which is basically the best combination for dark melee. YMMV with other combinations IO levels. 1: The set performs fine on mission clears and such, if released as-is it'll still be stronger than it was originally, which was already pretty strong. 2: While touch of fear is -fine- for AoE, I really, really think the activation time could use a cut. Like, a little less than half a second. Adjust recharge or whatever you may to make it work, but the main problem with ToF is just how awful it flows. I understand that if can very easily get out of hand due to soul drain, but I can't just ignore the fact that ball lightning or fireball exist. 3: Where the heck is the sound file for Shadow Maul, and how do I change it?
  18. I want to see how you're using SS or Super jump and fly, because I could not disagree more.
  19. The core issue is that, even if we disregard combat entirely, teleport feels awful to use indoors. CT is nice but it really isn't that helpful for that particular usage.
  20. It's irrelevant now, since you only need one exploration badge now. Look, if people can't handle one exploration badge, they can just walk - lol. Anyway, I'm annoyed with how little attention teleport itself is getting here. Anyone else? The untouchable thing is nice, but a far cry from a proper fix for the clunkiest travel option.
  21. This game is such a miraculous set of messes that happens to work, I love it.
  22. Every time you use ET, a random cottage somewhere far away violently explodes, killing everybody inside. A necessary sacrifice for dimension breaking fists.
  23. Oh no, you lost your 100% chance to stun a boss, and gained one of the most powerful single attacks in the game, another AoE, animation time cuts on your filler and retained the relatively high chance to stun on all of the above. What a problem. Stun wasn't even a popular pick for the few people who still played energy before this. This is not a hill you want to die on. I don't want to turn this into a flame war, either put your money where your mouth is and let me prove you wrong - lose this argument gracefully, or just be ignored. Times like this I wish the no-video rule wasn't in effect.
  24. It's still high, and that's before any other attacks come into play. Log in beta right now and I will prove you wrong in like five minutes, since you're so convinced this will be a problem.
  25. TF>BS by itself would be a guaranteed stun on everything below an AV by itself 90% of the time, that's before any other attack comes into play. By comparing the last toolkit to the current, I can actually make a pretty objective comparison in terms of value, so yes - yes I can. What's next, are you going to try and convince me that Confront is a valuable power? Kindly stop trying to sabotage a great thing here, thanks.
