Focused Feedback: Travel Power Updates (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Would a slight reduction to base end cost for evasive maneuvers be possible? It's my only issue with the power. -
Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The builds that take rune of power? I don't really understand the question. If people take the power, it's reasonable to come to the conclusion that they wanted it's effects for one reason or another. -
Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'll try to keep this brief so as to not flood the next 20 pages with debate, as what often happens on these boards. Just this post and a reply to the reply. Could you give an example of this 'chaining? This point of yours never made much sense to me. What powers am I chaining? My toggles? A t9? What's wrong with me doing that as part of my build? How is this an improvement to basic IO users in any way? The break free change isn't ignored, it's just not important relative to the duration hit. You could prevent getting mezzed before activating it. I'm a former virtue and a current everlasting player. I'm quite familiar with the thematic argument, and while it could have merits elsewhere, it doesn't really justify the change. Most of my roster aren't speedsters, they take hasten anyway. My brute's no leader unless you consider unholy shrieking to be inspiring, still take leadership on it. My mastermind couldn't dodge a wrench or a ball, still takes weave. Thematics are important, but it's not a problem unique to rune by any stretch. Imagination will have to suffice for now. I think everyone wants that. Nobody likes the fact that most power pools are absolute ass except a handful, but actively slapping down things that break the tired mold is pointless and damaging to the game. Would buffing bolt and enflame make the nerf easier to swallow? Maybe, I have some reservations just due to how weird the sorcery set is, but the thing is that Rune was taken, rune was liked, but it broke some imaginary rule and was slapped down. -
Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'm personally a fan of more options than less. The reality of the situation is that most pools are mediocre and have a gem or two in them. Fighting/leadership/speed all offer something tangible and powerful to a character who invests into them. In the case of fighting, you take one useless melee attack for two universally good toggles. In the case of speed, you get hasten right off the bat. CJ and flying offer mobility control with a defensive toggle. None of the leadership powers are dead picks. Do these pools need to be nerfed for not being total trash? I don't think so, I think more pools should feel as useful as these. The rune change takes a mediocre pool set and just kinda stomps on it for no real discernable reason.- 310 replies

Focused Feedback: Travel Power Updates (Build 1)

I don't think that's what he meant, but it's kind of a non-issue either way. -
Lord Winter should get a bug hunter title for his diligence.

Being able to instantly start at 50 with random power picks would be amazing and save me like 20 mins per test character. A command to clear the enhancement tray would also be really nice.

Don't know why you got a confused emote from that, that's the actual logic behind it, lol. -

I don't believe it has, though I have noticed that one is abnormally long. -

You keep afterburner and make zero slotting compromises with the new power in the process. It's frankly a nonsensical complaint. -

I see experimentation more often than the others on the discord and boards. You get speed of sound, a ranged set mule, proc vial and adrenal out of it. Corrosive with procs can be a big boost by itself, so you aren't sacrificing much for it. Adrenal is a one slot wonder and is decent, not amazing but decent. I just don't understand pool balancing, generally. From weaken resolve to poison dart, it seems that when a pool power becomes decent it gets slapped down hard. I'd like to break the hasten/travel/leadership/fighting mold a little - without nerfing any if those things.- 310 replies

Focused Feedback: Travel Power Updates (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I like pretty much all of this. My efforts to break the game and get stuck in geometry have proven unsuccessful so far, so we're looking good. -
I only have a few minor complaints that center around Rune, otherwise it's a pretty great patch. Not much to discuss. The testing process is pretty straightforward this time. I'm just hunting for bugs at this point.

Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Yeah, I like pretty much every change except this one. I find the logic behind keeping it in line with the other t5s flawed, when unrelenting is actual trash and unleash potential is rarely worth the investment. This change makes sorcery possibly the worst set in terms of value, now. -
At least someone got the joke.

I don't really see these restrictions being applied outside benchmark scenarios, like pylons. And that's only because it's necessary to form a baseline for set performance. A claw scrapper rocking assault has a pretty good shot of beating a better single target set that's not using it, for example.

Singy is easily the best pet in the game, nothing really comes close to it. Practically carries the gravity set.

What kind of hardware is necessary to run high graphics?
ScarySai replied to Chaos Ex Machina's topic in General Discussion
Ooh, that could be huge for me. Where do we punch that in? Unless it's not a command, and I read that wrong. -

Not telling the guy to get a pentium core off ebay, just stating the fact that single core speed will mean more than more cores in terms of performance for the game. -

Single core speed's going to get the most mileage, since the game can't properly use all of them for modern cpus. -
Pre-nerf regen wouldn't even be as good as some sets even still, by today's build standards. I don't see a problem with any potential fixes to the set leading to it being slightly overpowered. When a set is this weak for this long, I think it deserves a bit of extra love to make up for it. Energy Aura's a pretty good example. That set used to make regen look good by comparison, same for war mace. Now, strong and pretty isn't a meme anymore, it's actually a horrifyingly strong combo.
-
Guys, regen is fine and totally doesn't need massive buffs. If I pop four purple inspirations before every pull I only die sometimes.
-
I'm pretty sure lethal sets, particularly the newer ones like Savage and the reworked version of claws were intentionally tuned up a bit to compensate for lethal damage. Smashing damage isn't actually that highly resisted.
-
My 'A team' would probably look a bit like this. Terror of the Depths: Savage/Dark/Soul Dyne and Dash: Stj/EN stalker Starflash: Warshade Lilith Mk. 3: Ice/time/dark corruptroller. Claws for Alarm: Claw/bio/soul scrapper Augmented Reality: Gravity/Storm controller Vaccine: Poison/DP defender Frozen Fiend: Demons/Cold MM Lots of damage and mitigation, with a bit of support mixed in to soften up even the toughest targets. Bring lots of buffs.

Hey Devs, can you please some or all of this to HC?! :)

The only thing that has made me ever even consider trying out Tspy are the necromancy changes. I'm alllllll about that Diablo 2 life.
