  1. I was about to post my own topic with the exact same sentiment. I have over 20 level 50s and Oceania, my newest 50 storm / water defender is sooo much fun. I put KB to KD in a couple powers to keep things from scattering. Freezing Rain, Whirlpool and Geyser with a Lightning Storm overhead just melts everything. I find I don't use Tornado as much and still use Snowstorm now and then, although it is very hard to tell if it is doing anything. Hurricane is used when stuff starts to hit me, which is rare because my defenses are quite high (soft capped ranged, but not melee or AoE) and my S/L resists are capped. If you do not have one of these characters, I highly recommend it! My last defender was poison/archery which is underwhelming but this absolutely rocks the boat!
  2. I have been reading the back stories on the NPC characters in game and came up with some questions. 1. Valkyrie. Now I understand that a valkyrie is a mythological concept / figure, but I am curious as to whether Marvel ever disputed the name especially when they disputed the original name of Citadel as Bastion. Also, the two are somewhat similar. Anyone have any input on this? 2. Anyone ever notice that Citadel is green? He is a green android... 3. For the original Freedom Phalanx characters, 3 are invulnerability tankers (Statesman, Back Alley Brawler and Citadel). The original team consists of 3 tankers, 2 defenders, 2 controllers and a blaster. No scrapper. Just an observation there. 4. Aurora Borealis has no secondary power set. She also has no Praetorian counterpart. I feel like her secondary could be "Light Manipulation", if that were a thing. 5. Who are Rose Star and Spark Blade. Wiki says they are "not currently in game". 6. And for the game being heavily resistant to psychic damage in the later stages, there are quite a few signature heroes who do psi damage: Numina, Sister Psyche, Aurora Borealis, Penelope Yin and Swan. Ok, well 5, but it seems there should be more variation. 7. Infernal was potentially the prototype sentinel. Kind of. Fire blast / battle-axe blaster tanker. 8. Anyone think that Woodsman's secondary set would be Earth Assault, if that were a thing? 9. Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit need more use. Just an opinion. 10. Mynx's powers are labeled as Claws / Super Reflexes yet her archetype is tanker. I think there is a mistake on the Wiki or the source information.
  3. I did, but I am still unhappy about it.
  4. This. As someone stated earlier in this thread, the purples are nice for 1) chasing the recharge maximization, 2) capping your fire/cold resists. Otherwise, I would rather have Touch of Death in a melee power that gives me the +3.75% S/L resistance, +3.75% melee defense and +2.5% to damage. For me, those have always been more useful in a build. Don't get me wrong, the bonuses to accuracy and recovery are very nice, but all things being equal, I simply do not find them to be an efficient use IN COMBINATION with the other bonuses and considering the cost involved. I have 21 level 50s, all twinked out, and only my dominator and warshade utilize a purple set (only a single set at that) because I was chasing the recharge phantom. I consider myself a casual player. I do AE farms for influence here and there, but the majority of my money comes from doing task forces and similar content.
  5. YES. By far my favorite. I was just thinking this yesterday while grabbing the exploration badges there on a new toon.
  6. Not to quibble, but check your income again. I run the 125 and 133 maps (one is fire, other is S/L) all the time, they are the exact same thing, and I earn just over 5.5 million per instance, so around 28 million for all five. With that being said, the posters above have illustrated more lucrative single farms, but it will all come down to how fast you can kill and the total hourly investment. I've tried lots of other farms. Some are too long for my tastes. The 125 and 133 are simply fast and will net you the same amount of money in total time spent (i.e. not per run, but per hour and sans the inclusion of elite bosses, which make things longer for me).
  7. Absolutely! I've played with it over and over so I have a kind of good idea, and there is a definite sound effect, but that is only good when solo. Truthfully, I am finding VG to be rather less than useful. And the endurance drain on it is pretty high for something like that.
  8. I really want that pistol crossbow for my poison/archery defender. It would go nicely with my concept.
  9. I am putting in another vote for the Family. And Tsoo also. Those two factions were under utilized and explored.
  10. I am currently running a poison / archery defender and I can say with confidence that it is my most ridiculous character thus far. I do one thing well, which is debuff bosses, and that has been stated already. The heal is alright, average at best, but with no ability to heal myself, it loses points in my book. I actually look forward to when I heal someone or rez them. I clap myself on the back and say, "You did a thing, and you're not merely a passenger in this group until the AV fight". The one thing I do do well is very unsatisfying because it is very difficult to tell, especially in group combat, who is choking on my Envenom and Weaken abilities. It would have been nice if there was some animation, like the actual choking sequence from Mutagen, or perhaps the target turned green. Furthermore, of all the defender power sets, I feel like there was a missed opportunity with Poison. It should have had some actual damaging component to it that made up for its otherwise lackluster performance. It is poison after all! One of the abilities should have been a pretty effective DoT. Like something that makes the set stand out different than other support powers, something that makes the player wonder whether it is really support at all or just a disguised DPS set.
  11. I feel like, and this is completely subjective, that it is happening more often lately. Having read through other comments, it may be the -res because my dark melee scrapper can't get anything to sit still and neither can my warshade. Other characters, like my street justice scrapper or claws brute, the enemies take their licks without issue, for the most part.
  12. I have a dark dominator and the set is pretty solid. Except for the dog... Maybe if it was some kind of cool hellhound, but with so many other better models to choose from, it is just disappointing. As someone else mentioned, Heart of Darkness, is rather wonky but then I don't use it.
  13. This is a great idea. For the Zig Prison idea, perhaps work in some Family oriented stuff. Is there even a big boss for the Family? I do not recall having ever fought one, at least not on blue side. While we're at it, other hazard zones like Boomtown and Perez Park could have used a story arc too. Maybe. Boomtown is kind of a crap zone but some kind of Council thing there that has to do with the War Walkers would have been cool. Or a 5th Column story? If it were me, I would redesign some of the existing arcs so that they were contained within a single zone (mostly) and told a story about the neighborhoods as well, giving the setting some more flavor. Maybe some of the higher level stuff is more city wide. But I feel like some of the enemy factions are missing storytelling potential. Especially the Tsoo and the Family. That's my two influence.
  14. I was not sure what section this might go in (Art & Multimedia?). Is Swan's feathered shawl or cloak a unique costume piece to her? I found a feather cloak, but it is not the same. Anyone know?
