  1. All of this! Boomtown is sorely in need of attention. First, it is too large for what is there. And too much of the same. With the exception of the War Walker area, most of it is rather bland IMO. I have said this before, it needs its own story arc like Faultine, Croatoa, Striga etc. And where are the Rikti? Nowhere to be found and they are responsible for destroying it. Why? Perhaps they need to be scavenging among the ruins. What are they looking for? Perhaps they are lost soldiers trying to reconnect with their unit. I think there needs to be a downed spaceship in there.
  2. This is simply brilliant. While the look and feel of the Rogue Isles is great, they could have saved so many resources and just used what was already there, perhaps with a few Villain Only zones, like an Arachnos base out at sea (Grandville), or a Skyraider platform (Striga Isle!). In the direction of an earlier suggestion, the villain side should have meshed better with the existing villain factions. Want to work with Banished Pantheon? Cool, do the mission arc and build reputation with them. Want to be a Skull? Easy, do the arc and you could be an honorary Skull member, or a leader among them. And then offer specific badges for such accomplishments (i.e. Death Head, Death Doll, Tsoo Sorcerer, etc). And the newer red side factions, like the Coralax and the Gold Brickers could get more use.
  3. I would be inclined to vote against this UNLESS the enhancement sets were redesigned from the ground up also. For instance, IMO, the Obliteration set is the only good PBAOE set and I would be a little annoyed at having to take a different set. BUT, if the others were brought up to the same standard to allow for more choices, then I would be ok with this. My other thought is that this is very rarely an issue anyway. I can think of one character of mine that has 4 Obliteration sets on it, but most of the time there simply is not room for more than 3 of the same set. And the LOTG bonus could/should be proliferated to other sets maybe
  4. So the first time I read through this, I did not think much of it, but when I saw someone else had quoted it, I reread it more carefully and I think this is actually quite a good idea, especially the part about building reputation. Don't want the Hellions to keep attacking you? Do the Hellion arc and build reputation so they fear you (or love you, which ever).
  5. So here is my 2 cents on purple sets: they are very rarely worth their cost. Don't get me wrong, the bonuses are nice, but aimed at weird statistics. For fire farmers, they are pretty good, though I would also make the assumption that fire resistance isn't much of an issue by 50 for most. The recharge is great for dominators but is it really worth the cost? Depends on build I suppose but I would rather find it elsewhere. When I do a build, I aim for S/L resistance, positional defense and recharge last. Now what I would really like to see are regular enhancement set families that are all aimed at different resistance / defense areas. For example: a whole family of different sets that aim at toxic/psionic resistance in addition to a grab bag of other stats that you would need. So that if I wanted to max out my toxic resistance, I could do that. I've actually tried to do that and could not do it. The variable level of enhancement sets needs to be thrown out. Everything should be level 15+ and geared for a 50. Likewise, I think that each set should be a 6 piece set. OR, if it does remain a 3 piece set, then the bonuses should reflect that in a more significant way. How many people here really utilize Airburst? Or Annoyance (honestly, +0.625% Melee defense? Really?). Manticore's Sting should be a +Toxic Resistance set. What set gives Toxic Defense? (none that come to mind). I have gone off on a tangent and I apologize. But there are only a few enhancement sets that I buy over and over and over. I have 30+ toons all twinked out. That is like 50 sets of Obliteration that I have purchased at least. I want to make different builds. I feel like this should be its own thread...
  6. Having played many games with PVP as their focus, my response would be to look at Dark Age of Camelot and utilize what works in that game to the best of this game's ability. DAOC had amazing PVP (RVR) and PVE existed to complement it. I do not think that everything is possible but CoH has all the basic elements to use.
  7. There are quite a few people in my age range. I will be 46 in October. 1974 was a magnificent year.
  8. Oh, yeah, Synapse is a slog. That TF is in serious need of trimming. But if you are on Indomitable, send a message to @Turric and I would be happy to run it with you. I have several toons in need of Positron 1 and 2.
  9. The train station is handicap accessible just in case.
  10. Have you seen any schools? Elementary or high schools? The university sure, but it's just engineering students learning how to make things. There are obviously no philosophy, economics or business classes to teach those idiot Hellions or Skulls how to make good decisions.
  11. Thank you kindly @Frostbiter
  12. I am pretty sure this should be asked in another section, but is there a way to make a macro for your own base. Similar to the hub macros?
  13. My vote would be for less intrusive graphics BUT keep the original as an option.
  14. I played today with a guy named Suicide Squirrel on Indom. I feel like he should be immune to that.
  15. M.C. Louis Investments. Is M.C. Louis the richest man in Paragon City?
  16. I wonder how possible it would be to create one or several of such locations that you could enter? Like an easter egg type thing. Or maybe there is a contact in there that you have to meet for lunch?
  17. Chris Jenkins, the ambulance chaser lawyer who has his face plastered all over billboards needs to be an NPC. And the Capn Kraken Seafood Restaurant needs to have a Capn Kraken mascot out front advertising the seafood. And who is Elena, the model advertised in Galaxy City? And what kind of movie premier is going on in Atlas Park? So many little lore bits. I love this game.
  18. I am also going to cast my vote against Medicine. In my opinion, the entire pool is almost total garbage. Field Medic would be possibly ok to somewhat interesting if it weren't for the other powers before. I've tried it on several characters, most recently my dark/fire dominator and repeatedly disappoints me to the point I respec out.
  19. Absolutely do it. I have Oceania all slotted up now and she is a beast. I have no fear on that character. Leap into groups alongside the tank, drop my whirlpool, freezing rain and geyser and walk away. IMO the KB to KD is the key, but mileage may vary. I have 25 level 50 characters now, all slotted, and she is the first where i really feel overpowered.
  20. Precisely. One can log in, beat up some punks or some aliens, log back out without the pressure of having to keep up with the Jones family that other games have.
  21. True story. I was on Infinity as Iron Raven and Lady Electric since 2005. Now I am on Indomitable. I have remade both of those character using old screenshots (so many others were lost..) but when I came to Homecoming, I started anew and my first character was the Black Owl because I never had a chance to try out street justice nor willpower before sundown. Welcome back!
  22. Some of the names for powers may need some further consideration. Thundergust? Microburst?
