I actually like the idea of building a dedicated badger (I've never really been one) and getting a few together to see if we can get 500 in short(ish) order On live, I ran an event where we got the Isolator (before it was easy at 30 something) and that proved to be quite popular Might be a nice way to start. 5 or 6 players teaming in Outbreak then moving on...

I tested on a crupper and Scarlet Sentinel - he ate both quite simply - so either it's been fixed for sentinels or information went blah Thanks for your help and input

Had a go on MoM last night - I was paying attention to Penny during that because we floored her Recovery and whilst she would get dribs and drabs back she was never really able to slap us effectively. I'm seriously thinking I'd love to form an all-Sapping static team for this. Anyone else up for it?
-
Thanks I'd found him, but I couldn't get him to eat me - he did minor damage but my regen (on a non-regen SO'd character) overcame the damage he was doing. I tried hitting him with powers, much to the annoyance of DJ Zero but with no success. I shall click and click and click until I'm sick

You lead the team Snarkster and I'll join it!

I do not know of this person I rolled a toon about 24 hours ago, ran to about 83 badges last night (admittedly I was up late) but then today a Synapse and couple of other minor detours got me to 101 so easy. I didn't spec this out or plan it in any way so I'm thinking you could do this in about 90 minutes if you were totally serious.

Scarlet Shocker exists on different shards as different ATs. Scarlet Blaster isn't nearly as effective at sapping (or surviving) as Scarlet Sentinel. Partly I think that's because a Sentinel gets in the melee from very early on, and its survivability allows it to be in the fight for longer, whereas a Blaster benefits from having somebody to distract the mobs while delivering damage and/or secondary effects to be truly impactful. As others have noted above, it's rare to get a team that focuses on sapping, so by the time any electric AT becomes effective, usually most mobs are dead or the fight has devolved to the players vs one or maybe two very tough AVs/EBs which are less vulnerable to sapping in the first place. I'd also add, as an aside but important from the point of the Heroes game at least, that Sapping presents an opportunity to bring opponents to heel in a very non-lethal manner. Most of the game is balanced towards City of Heroes, but the logic of "I arrested him by smashing him several times in the face with a 12 foot long sword, your honor" does sometimes jar. Being able to neutralise somebody by completely removing their energy to resist seems like quite a good way to go about your business.

Does anyone farm at a sub-50 level?
Scarlet Shocker replied to Jawbreaker's topic in General Discussion
Not so much farming as smallholding -
/bindsave will save all your binds to a file, /bindload will load them to every character and apply them. I don't know if it works for macros where you have a button in your power tray but it does everything else.
-
Have you tried /chatsave (and /chatload) and also /optionsave ( /optionload) ? that may fix it
-
I didn't see that coming!

I think you get about 10 just for creating a new character and logging in. Villains get an explore badge in the old start mission - then some explore badges and Pocket D - Ouro - Entrusted with the Secret and the explore badge there. also Echo Galaxy then Kings Row and Perez Park gives you the Pupil badge with the Plaques as well as explore badges. Atlas gives you 5 in no time at all. Visit the START and you can get around fast so there's no real limitation to how fast you can explore

there are a few powers that provide -Recovery (and I believe some Incarnate powers offer that too) so with a couple of good sappers on a team who coordinate it should be doable. Yes NPCs do cheat but that's always been the case. Endurance in this game is a resource that needs to be managed by players to reduce the damage they can do over time. Most games have two (or more) criteria to manage, one is most always health (0 health means incapacity/death) - otherwise it's just steamroller. So les cheating more forcing players to prioritise resources which makes for a better game - and even more importantly, better players IMO

Sapping is always good fun unless the building you're tunnelling under falls on top of your head. Oh... wait... I actually love Elec for it's -End. One on a team doesn't do well, but a few do very well but struggle with AVs and EBs - but so long as you have some good other damage that's not insuperable. I'd love to go on an all sapping team.

testing my memory here - you'd get an additional costume slot at 20 and at 30 when you got your cape and aura missions from City Hall. First one was Serge in Steel Canyon, then the one in IP... I think there was a 3rd mission too... but I can't remember it. That took you to Founders. Plus Granny Weatherwax in Croatoa gave you a slot for the Halloween Salvage as @Jacke pointed out. I think you could get a max of 6 costume slots - I believe that the OG Devs said there was a technical limitation on them and that's why we got the costume change upload to effectively enable us to change outfits on the fly from our bank of saved costumes. -

Remember confusing the Vazhilok bombers so they'd blow their own team to bits? That was a ton of fun too. -
AI integration with NPC's would be interesting.
Scarlet Shocker replied to speczero's topic in General Discussion
No! No it would not. It would almost certainly break our game. What we have works fine. We're very happy playing a game that's survived two decades even having faced some massive challenges. AI is pretty well a bullshit con designed by robbing creators, throwing it into a virtual mixing pot and stealing the good bits for the corporations to use against you. They serve you slop instead of a wage or recompense for the creators. Either way AI is going to bite arses sooner rather than later. Just make sure it's not yours. -

I never knew that. I remember posting about the invisible cows in the chalet on live and that turned into quite a long, and very silly discussion. But I had no idea there were actual cows in the game. Maybe they were Skrulls.
