I suggested that many eyewear pieces be given a glow effect and that was implemented very quickly. Granted they aren't labelled especially well but it did happen and fast.

Clearly not but it's interesting to know more about some of them, especially those with names and a bit more going on than simply bad guys to beat down. I'm just curious, that's all.

Serious question: I thought that the Sis P TF was meant to contribute towards the badge and it has a significant amount of love from the player base as a TF. Is this a case where rather than the wiki being wrong, the game itself is wrong in not awarding it?

I found myself doing some Police Band missions over the last week or so and of course that involves preventing the bad guys robbing the various banks in Paragon. It caused a thought to percolate through my mind. I don't ever recall seeing these robbers anywhere else; yet they have a gang of villainous types following loyally, so they must have some clout with those who are partial to nefarious derring do and nicking the moolah from under the nose of the rightful owners. Do they have back stories, or do they appear elsewhere in the game? Have we broken them out of the Zig ever playing on redside? It just struck me that they probably have interesting enough stories that could make up more lore, even if they aren't ever going to become signature NPCs.

Famously, FBSA were a well-known soul funk outfit that presaged the Philly sound.. The initials stood for "Father Brother Sister Auntie" but they were superceded by the stylistically funkier and more competent band known as MFSB

You can also use slash commands ( / ) to save and restore settings I used /wdwsave (window save) and /wdwload /optsave (options) /optload /bindsave (binds) /bindload /chatsave (chat) /chatload So once you have your UI working the way you like it, your binds are all configured and you know the colours of your UX etc and your chat tabs you can use those as saves which sets as default, then load them every time you play on a different character to give yourself consistency.

I'm taking nothing personally here, don't worry I'm curious how you think responding to you is a derailment of your thread or position. I'm not going to address your wall of text other than to say that if there are things you dislike in the game you can almost always avoid them and do other things. It is a game. It is a leisure activity. If you're not enjoying it, go do something else that you do enjoy. Life is too short to spend it fretting about how some aspects of a volunteer project run by dedicated fans don't meet your expectations. But stuff annoys you and it took a year for you to think about it tells me that you might just be overthinking it a tad. Best to you

I'm certainly not complaining, but I obviously missed that update. But yes, I <think> it makes more sense... but just to be clear it improves the time your taunt/placate affects an enemy, correct?

I was playing a brute, not an AT I play often and I realised when coming to sort out some enhancements, that one took "Threat Duration" enhancements. I don't think I've ever encountered that before. I am guessing it's akin to Taunt but it's not Taunt... so is it one of those oddities like Snare vs Slow? Is it ever going to be possible to rationalise some of our Enhancements or is that a vain hope? I'm thinking that some (I'm looking at Interrupt) are pretty well totally obsolete and it might be nice to clear the guff but I can also imagine it may be a massive task for little reward. Thoughts!

I hear you, but the thing is none of this impedes you in any meaningful way. Skipping missions is very easy now and if you want to avoid certain types of mission you can run the ones you want to from Ouro, so you can effectively cherry pick. Sure, some things are a bit dull, and we might collectively ask ourselves "why oh why?" but at the same time in any environment, the bad helps you appreciate the good! In the early days (remember CoH was one of the earliest true MMOs) the Devs were literally feeling their way, working out how to make a great game. There are zones where nothing happens, by design. The Hazard zones were there to challenge players with no mission arcs just street sweep tough mobs. That was fine for then but now that powers creep and XP boosts have made those obsolete we barely pay them any mind. Devs made a lot of content - or rather assets - which gives us a great, beautifully rich environment, designed to be explored and to allow a player to spend time in the game without actually doing content, just exploring, discovering, dodging mobs, finding badges and easter eggs and all kinds of wonderful fun, solo or together. Those things might seem like a pain in the ass now, but they are what make the game so great, the level of pre-planning in its development and we should be thankful. Without those things that you seem to think of as negative, I'd argue the game would have gone extinct long ago because it lacked the little details that gave it the well-rounded soul that earned its loyal player base. It's worth remembering that in the early stages of the game the Devs learned very quickly that players would zip through content quicker than you could say "Jack Shit!" - so they had to find ways to take time out of the game. That's why many missions are kill all, why sometimes things are ambiguous. I don't know when you started playing but I remember having to literally run everywhere, which in Steel Canyon and Independence Port was no joke. Especially when I needed to run to the furthest end of the zone just to get those Endurance Mod enhancers I so desperately needed. But to me, none of that is a chore. It's fun. It allows me to play the game, day in and day out and after almost 19 years of continuous play, I still find out stuff I've never seen before. If I could offer one piece of real advice it would be to be in less of a hurry. Enjoy the fact you have to think, or do something, or bop those mobs and you're not going to get done within 20 seconds. Take the time to have fun - if you complete a mission quickly you'll still be doing exactly the same thing you were doing in the next, punching bad guys and completing the mission objectives. you're not going to lose anything by not doing the next mission right now!

What do you think is the strongest two-person duo?

This kind of feeds into my point about good/experienced players coming out on top regardless of the AT because they will know how the ATs play and understand the finer points of their playstyle. And you really should play a controller. They are a lot of fun and you need not go chasing after your enemies, just lock 'em in place and deal with them as you wish 😃 -

That's an interesting idea. One of the things I absolutely love about this game and it's real strengths is there are many different ways of "doing it right!" I am pretty sure that any test of TF/Farm would produce a lot of different two-player combos and once run a few times there would be a pretty close finish with a wide range of duos. I also bet that if the top five duo teams played different combos they'd also come out in roughly the same order regardless of the duos they picked. If anyone is interested in doing something like this in EU compatible times I'd be up for it. I love gigs like this. -

The issue there is that you lose one set that's great for de/buffing and secondary effects. As @biostem points out you can get damage from pool powers to supplement your perceived lack of damage. I do agree that some trollers lack significant damage - I have a Stone/Thermal that I've had since live that is my go-to for teaming. Really solid holds, good buffs and debuffs but solo he can lock stuff down and tickle it to death. Other control sets do have a bit more oomph hence my suggestions. I might even change out the Ill/rad for a Dark/Rad or Dark/Poison -

I don't often play melee characters but I do love the way Kin melee looks. It certainly looks high energy and I can imagine it would look great seeing two go at it
