  1. So...perusing the interwebs as i slam tons of coffee in the wee hours of the morning. (getting ready for 500+ miles driving today) I come across the oddest bit of intrigue. Do Amazons have shaved armpits? Was that part of Greek culture? Amazon culture? Gal Gadot's routine? DC Canon? and or some rando digital effects person making the final decision for everyone. Not that I believe it will have a huge impact on my existence. I try to avoid Amazons. They tend to gank Vampires on aight. That is the true crime here. Blatant discrimination. Whether or not they manicure becomes a side issue. Anyways. Was this important?
  2. This was from back on live. Restriction removed by current management. Praise Lord Recluse!
  3. I love that you never edited the title. I have an ice ice cold Blaster that is very good. I do recommend getting macros for the rains. One to center the rain on a target one to center it in yourself. For each rain so four macros
  4. I am old enough that an SG mate talking about playing with their parent on live and now having played CoX more than half their life warmed my cold heart But it is impolite to ask a Vampire how old they are. Makes us think you might be sizing us up to see if you think you could kill us. Trust me, I am too old for you
  5. not exactly....in chasing my "unicorn" I have discovered Electric meets a number of my goals. Dont get me wrong, if Dark had a ranged T9 I would laugh and run off. My "unicorn" is playing ranged, with softcap Ranged defense, and having a few "O crap" buttons like Personal Force Field and Phase Shift. i have a partially incarnated Elec/Temp that after one more respec should be pretty sweet. As it is I enjoy playing it for the fluidity, ease of play, and the POWEr it gives me. Power to relocate anywhere on the map and lay down a whisker crinkling alpha. Power to provide fire support to a team. Not as good as a fire/elec blapper....but not insignificant. The Nuke can even help me do ST against long hard boss fights since i can stay at range and apply it. If things go bad. Phase shift, force field, etc... O yes. Fun comes in many sizes and shapes.
  6. I know some people build to sap. I know it can be done successfully. I look at it and think..."The people who designed Sentinels. They cut their teeth designing Electrical's secondary effect." It is that bad. Like....I just ignore it. If any other set (no weapons) had a ranged Nuke I would not be on Electric. I enjoy my Ice/Ice/Cold Blaster but am looking for a point and click. Not an aim, center, rain, herd into the rain, etc. Electric punches that dance card. If there were powers that did not cause redraw or fit a weaponed theme in the epics/incarnates I might use Beam Rifle. But nothing matches. So...electric. But sapping? It is truly a sweet spot where sapping is even useful. Most crap dies. sapping not so helpful. or it is too powerful...sapping not so helpful. But if it is a tough boss or a regular EB you might have someone alive long enough to be sapped and still be vulnerable to being sapped. Yeah, you get a cookie. Now, make sure you alter your entire build to work on that one guy.
  7. Ahhhhh. Like I said I was working out when I got into the topic in the Blaster forum. A person was saying Sentinels were better. I looked. Obviously I pointed out Blaster AoE won hands down. They had almost convinced me on ST DPS. I forgot build up etc. THanks.
  8. I am just looking at MiDs. Not at my home right now. But the straight up damage on Sentinel ST attacks were way heavier than Blaster on Electric At least that is what i saw last night. Granted i was just done working out and may not have been thinking clear
  9. One word. Arbiter. Right from the first story arcs in Mercy these Arachnos soldiers are enshrined in a Judge Dredd mystique. As you research a little about them I am sure you could get a hook into how a SoA could get involved in insanely powerful plots that would lead them to the Well and the next level of power
  10. I am underwhelmed by Sentinel’s AoE performance. But you brought up some good points about it, specifically Electric. So thanks Elite’s need ST? (This to a earlier post, just jotting ideas down). Sometimes (often) I feel like i am playing a different game than everyone else. Does no one but me want to take down the last big boss or cyclops or hami or anything else besides regular bosses? Heck you need to punch hard to burn down an EB solo. So i do look at what to me appears to be a much harder hitting Sentinel ST chain compared to Blaster on Electric and think…maybe. It is nice to use a Electric Blaster to swoop in and clean a ton of mobs off a teammate in one big attack chain. But, to me, a lot of the game is ugly little fights against the one mob still standing. ST chain counts a lot. I do not do complex DPS analysis on this stuff but when you pull up 3-4 attacks in MiDs and compare Blaster to Sentinel it is fairly easy to see Blaster does a crapton more AoE damage before even considering target caps. And Sentinels are much better for ST. also mentioned previously. Snarky talks about pure ranged builds a couple times a day. I love me some hyperbole But it is not far off. I have been chasing that unicorn since live. My Ice Ice Blaster is a good effort at it. Just looking for options. Landing those Ice AoEs and keeping it on the people running around is…interesting. But a lot of work. I will need to compare Electric sentinel ST chain to Ice Blaster to be fair. The rest of my work week is going to be hard but i will try to poke around MiDs on a Elec/Will and see if i can cram phase shift on. I love me some hit and run. Invulnerability is too clunky on Sentinels for me. And it never quite matures without a LOT of slots
  11. I am trying to stand up a viable (and actually strong) fully ranged Electrical Blast character. It seems to me Blaster AoE vs, say Sentinel is off the hook. Hands down winner Surprisingly I find that Sentinel ST damage seems to WAY outpace Blaster. I have not examined Corruptor...or Dom, or any other. Can I get some feedback on what is really good and what is....something to be aware of? Thanks.
  12. My main when I came back was a build by Hyperstrike: SS/Invulnerability. Then I mained a Dark/Dark for about 6 months. If I wanted to main another Brute I would have to say Energy Melee/Invulnerability would be in my sites. EM recently (finally) got the revamp we waited a decade for. And it was good. The most powerful (bulletproof...) Brute I have run? Dark/Invul. Hands down.
  13. Grats on the vacation! I just eyeballed it and manually entered one. I have your template about half memorized anyways. Again, thanks for building them.
  14. i see what you mean. on the rebuild to reduce s/l resistance i will do what i can
  15. what i see in the Blaster is this. Warthog anti tank plane. some armor. speed, ability to hide. a CRAPTON of damage. the sentinel (to me) is more like a light tank. It fights much closer to the action. It does not have access to the big Hide buttons I have on the Blaster. Phase Shift (cannot fit) and Force Field (unavailable) It also cannot deliver the first strike ability, nor does it have the range. Just my thoughts.
  16. My Blasters full first salvo of Aoe sometimes doesnt clear all the trash. especially not in incarnate trials and ITF runs. These two sentinels are just going to piss them off.
  17. Good idea! I am still not seeing the higher damage. Specifically comparing Nuke damage and number of targets it (to me) looks like Blaster has parked in the garage whiole Sentinel is still racing the course.
  18. I tried building a Sentinel using Hyperstrikes Invul Template. Not sure where you getting more damage. You said Sentinels Nuke is more often. It would neeed to be near constant unless my values are off This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.5.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 19. These no longer open in the new mids sigh. I was hoping to build a Dark/Invul Sentinel using your framework
  20. Thanks for the input. (seriously) You have just spurred me into rerolling this as a Electric/Willpower or Elec/Invulnerability Sentinel. Time to research....
  21. Ran this in a ITF Kill Most and an Operative Renault speed run last night. Very informative runs. The Nuke, not as impressive as my Dark Blaster. But still a true Blaster Nuke, not a Sentinel...thing. Decent AoE. Only real issue is making sure you are hitting a lot with it. I am 80% time so far away from combat all I see are special effects... During the Operative Renault the "true Speedrunners" (I play dirty casual style) were at mission goals...fast. sometimes by the time I loaded in. After we were all team teleported. Like...wtf? That left the sad sack half of the team (usually me in the back) trying to get to the goal. I have full invisibility. But I also stop to help teammates who are dead or in combat. Thats where I spent most of my TF time. Did real well. Only one death for me. When things got crazy town I had the 3 O crap buttons. Phase Shift and Personal Force Field. These two are going to be my friends. I need to learn to use Grant invisibility on recently rezzed teammates. I took it as a Mule to get to Phase Shift. Infiltration...I heard complaints about it on the boards and from one of the speed runners in the Op Renault. It aint good. This could be my unicorn. Does not fit my vampire theme at all but is the equivalent of an Automatic Semi Truck. Lot of power. Expect yourself to be doing more of what it wants. But danged easy if you just temper your expectations. This is a revived and rebuilt 50. I had parked it fully I/O'd because I liked it. I Respec'd it into this thing. It had Cardiac Core on it. Which...I have decided to leave. For the Range benefits. (Why i took it originally) But that boosts my S/L Resists a LOT in 45+ content. Honestly under 45 that is not an issue. So I will be Respeccing this to gain back some of the set bonuses I dont need for S/L and apply elsewhere. Also. What End issues? Pffft. Probably do not need Health and Stamina overslotted so much.
  22. I love me some Redside. But it is hard out there for a villain. Try to organize a Redside Strike Force. There will be interest, but it takes a while. But then try to organize a Posi 1 or a Synapse. Yeah, turning people away. Redside DFB. Same. Redside Drowning in Blood. You can just about forget this unless you got a LOT of online friends you can arm twist. It ain't happening unless the stars align.
  23. A good "Task Force" build, not a "Farm" build would be my only suggestion. 99% badges on this game just require the time and effort to collect. The Ski Chalet badges do go easier with certain "movement Power" builds IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THOSE POWERS Otherwise the learning curve on, say jumping, can be as tough as just learning the slopes. I use fly on the slopes and have 4/6 nailed with a couple hours effort. The time commitment and luck to get the last two are currently daunting me. If you were soloing a lot of the tougher badges you might need some special stuff. But just get with the teams and run the character. You will be collecting badges like mad. More important than what build you make is what plan you have. You have limited amount of time. Keep track of what you have done and plan out your next 10 or 20 badges. Especially for Task Forces and Mission Arcs. That way if you see a team running that content you know that is your train.
  24. Actually if someone is already headed that way (and are reasonably as close as me) i will let them get it. Maybe not if they are 1/2 mile further away. People racing to a glowie want to get it
