Taunt was dropped and/or never picked up by Brutes going back to their beginning. The reason was quite simple. No room on the F-ing Build. Remember this was orig CoV. They were THE melee redside toon. No other options. Also a travel power required TWO power choices and there was NO inherent fitness. So people did not take taunt Lo and behold Redside teams figured out you didnt need it. Sure its a great resource. A very powerful power. Just not necessary, and since no one but Stone Brutes took it then it was practically unavailable soooo Brutes learned to race ahead of teams like dogs in a hunt. The goal was to jump into a fresh mob and have everyone attack you before any other team member got there. Like cannonball into a pool. What? NO not to take agro for the team. Screw them. You needed your Fury bar fully charged baby. like it or not Redside teams started building and using the unchangeable Brute tactic developing strategies for using their powers to make the most of an endless line of “ Leeroy Johnson!!!s” and so was born the ROFLSTOMP redside PUG teams. so it is not surprising that Taunt is not used in the Build because Brute players think of it as about as necessary as the fifth wheel bolted to the back of a jeep. Sure it looks cool but when the F will i use it? and since i started as a Redside SS/Invul player i never think of it as missing. I want it on my Tanks. But i hardly even try to do Damage as a Tank. I run Tanks as melee ‘trollers with only one mez power. The best in the game. Mind control better than any mez primary. Attack me. Hard coded into the game but Bruting? Brute smash. Screw taunting anything. Just hit stuff. Then hit more stuff

I am currently soloing all Redside on a Invul/Dark Tank. I have run a fully i/o’d expensive Dark/Invul Brute back on live. Most of my melee run Invul and at keast 25% use Dark. Those are my bonafides lol soooo. Think about this. Before Incarnate powers i ran a Dark/Invul Brute. Heavily I/O’d. Lots if purple sets LOTG and Hasten. Thats right. Not built for res/def. built for permahasten or very close to it. It took Unstoppable the hated tier 9. It was nearly unkillable. The Haste on the build brought up all the needed long recharge powers in a reasonable time. If speedboosted Unstoppable stacked. This will not avert the ceash but will let you ignore it. Think Paragon Protector on very low health. Diesnt matter because you still cannot kill it. If no speed boost just have a green and a blue ready to pop at the crash. People make too much of the drop. Or a purple a green then use Darks End recovery PBAoE and then Siphon Life. High recharge Dark takes Unstoppables crash in stride. so that is on a Brute built not for Def or Res but Speed. This is the meanest combi in the game imo. A brute DM/Invul tanks better than almost any other Tank if it bothers to take taunt The build i am currently going with for my Invul/Dark Tank is just a super relaxed story arc toon and badger. So will be S/L Def capped and Heavy resists. Better Tanking than Stone due to the versatility and giving up practically nothing when comparing survivability if you want to do damage with the build i seriously recommend Brute. My main is a Ss/Invul Brute build for defand res and the only thing that puts it down are Hami and incarnate patches of death. I dont even bother looking at health or end bars. They never move below 90% unless a lot of psychic is hitting. Placing Dark over SS just makes the build more durable. The Invul Brute walks through the +4/x8 Comic con farm like another day in a park whatwver you choose gl and have fun

In my continued search for a Blaster i like i cycled back to Dark with Temporal as the seconday. I will be taking Soul as Epic. I might take Force as a pool. This will give me 4-5 cones which will be the preferred attack chain. Hoverblast ftw. I am playing with a build which most here would prob dislike based on my power choices but it suits my playstyle. The ranged defense as it sits is 55% at 50. Not counting possible incarnate choices. I will prob start Frankenslotting this down to 45% with all toggles off. Toggles are CJ Stealth and Hover i liked AR and Ice but Dark just feels more powerful. The PBAoE nuke is not as problematic as i thought. It is a very situational power which is not up that often

You can really take any toon AT build against Malta and its nit bad. Oh one thing. KILL SAPPERS like they (insert vile act here) to you

As long as you enjoy the game. 50 content for me is a little intense. 24 people spamming AoE and hopping around to avoid patchs of dearh. Meh i enjoy making a new character and running 1-30ish content as long as the task forces are adverting. When that slows i either jump on my story arc toon, or convert all merits to cash (that takes a while to milk properly) or just start another 1-30 run. Sometimes i jump on my 50 but it is not my go to

Emp merits flow like water if you run your 50. Like so many things in game the focus we have on how to maximize is almost detrimental unless you are tweaking a fire farmer. And even that gets silly. Just grab a fire armor throw on some i/o and do not crank it so much your kill speed goes to dog turd. if you run a 50 for a few weeks (20-25hrs a week?) then you will be well kitted out with incarnate abilities. To try to squueze this number down to how few hours in some weird formula is....wait what why. Just run the character in content. Any content you like. Have fun. It will happen conversely if you dont enjoy doing it grab a diffeeent alt you do like and just go do that. The point is to enjoy the game

I don’t know about the other servers but they started this on Everlasting over the holidays. They are serious geeks on that server lol

On the scale of possibilities. more likely: Korea turning into a year round summer vacation destination less likely: NC Soft selling the game least likely: North Korea giving up Nukes

Twice in the last week (on Everlasting) we tried to start a TF and someone was not quite the right level. Both times we ran a couple radios and solved the problem. No drama. I love Everlasting. It is everyone Doing their part too. I was trying to level a lowbie blaster redside and someone was pulling a team in the 45 range. There were some new players in the team and when the mayhem came up they really Wanted to try it Do i have to say it? Team wipe out and trip to jail. I sent a tell i was alting and came back on my main. A Brute designed by Hyperstrike that cannot be killed except by MoM death patches. Went to the jail. Killed everything. Tanked as team headed to the bank. It was a team effort, from Hyperstrikes design to the team leader to the new players rolling with the craziness of a mathem. And we robbed that bank, like real heroes! /em holdchicken

From what i can tell Dr Aeon has always had control of a ‘certain company’ and has been working to amass power through control if it and the soace time continuum. However the Menders have been working diligently to clean the time threads and truncate his evil abuses. Many times they use unknown Heroes, Vigilantes, Rogues, and yes even Villains ti accomplish these tasks we will never submit to evil control of our lives /em holdchicken Homecoming

I am pretty bad about this. In fact as soon as i get a character it starts. I know i want 1 acc 2 dam. So even if i am doing DFB and using the prestige procs from P2W i have to put a training acc in the first slot. Because 1acc then 2 damage. That is how it goes. Everybody knows that there is a great villain or vigilante character that can be born from this somehow ”it really does have ample cargo space” Dexter Morgan while fitting the car salesman’s body in the minivan

Cannot believe i havent tried this yet. But i had not. I am an old stick in the mud running invul tanks and brutes with SS and DM lol i rolled one for an ugly character contest and then just ran them through 4 DFBs. Went to sleep. Got up this morning and ran through (in this order) Synapse, Posi2, Posi1, 1st blue Respec, and a Manticore. I am not disliking it it is possible i might even add it to my narrow list of characters i really enjoy smashing with so... i am taking a SS/Invul Build and trying to slam that into the Rad/Invul. The fit is not perfect but it gives me the basics. I am wondering if the 2 PBAoEs make it easier ti hit build goals or harder. anyone have a Super Tanky build for this? I am throwing all the usual suspects at it

This is very useful information. It appears to be exactly what i am looking for. Thanks now i do not know how to use it i want to set up 2 variations. 1). Drop Blizzard on someones head. Hiw do i bind this? Do not say /powexec_location target Blizzard. Where is the key bind in that? I am not typing it out each time i would rather hunt the cursor lol the second variation is just max range directly in front of me. For when things arent cooperating. Again my confusion here is where does the keybind go in this? Sorry i am new to key binds. I use exactly 1. About 10-20 times per toon. /bind x “pow_exec_name brawl”. And that is the sum total of my keybind knowledge. So i look at the command and do not comprehend where the ‘key x” argument fits again thanks

I would love some help here. I use a Razer mouse and a razer keypad for all my gaming. The keypad has 20 keys on it all available for keybonds plus targeting/jumping/moving. The mouse i use for moving mostly though with turning looking hot buttons for direction etc. what i do not use. Is the F-ing cursor. And that bad boy get lost on a giant monitor in a huge team battle. so when i go to fire iff a location AoE i hit the keybound button...and start the cursor hunt. Even jf i just used it it is gone again. Unless i am doing chain loc AoE then its fine. But fire off a coupke ST and want another loc AoE. Hunt is on again so. Is there a way to either center/dedault location the cursor. And/or default lication the AoE to straight ahead if me max distance at my altitude/on the floor? thanks for any input

Really enjoying this build. At 35 now. Chasing ranged defense and learning my attack chains i have done both Posi 1and 2, Synapse and the first TV respec. Some mission teams as well running doors my only real issue right now is finding a smooth way to target my nuke and ice storm. The mouse is really hard to target with. Because you have to find the curser and then get it lined up where you need it to be. With all the crap that goes on in a big team just finding the cursor is an issue that has a real effect on dps

Well you still lose the resources you boosted it with. I would say simpler is better. Just unboost, are you sure, and done

Soooo. You live in 1970? You should hop in Ouro. We got 50 years of advances done. First. I get paid by the hour. I drive local in the greater Portland Vancouver area. All trucks are now required to have electronic logs. Paper logs are about 99% phased out. There us so much drug screening in the trucking community that you obviously would not believe it. I am not even going to try to convince you. You have all the sources you cited. I am just a Snarky voice on the web. But to be clear about my situation. I get paid by the hour not the mile. I still do not want to do 45 on a freeway with no traffic. That creates hazards to those who are following me due to passing and causing frustration among those behind me. I am not a great driver. I am a good driver trying to make money i just really hate slow people who have no idea how to use a freeway. They are constipaters

I mostly play below 50. My one maxed out i/o’d 50 is a ss/invul build by Hyperstrike. It uses no boosted enhancers. A LOT of expensive attuned enhancers. Many running 10-20 mil apiece. It does not need boosted. The build is sick maybe they could put in a switch to completey unboost an enhancer? Would that solve the issue?

I thought this topic was about passing people... you are trying to get other human being to listen to you and follow instructions? Wow on the bright side if you find out how to do it you can market it to the US Army. They have people that volunteer They pay them. They put them in a focused environment ( boot camp) and they still have a horrid time getting oeople to pay attention and follow instructions i think we need to talk with Crey Industries about a possible solution. Now dont get riled up i am not talking about invasive surgical procedures. I am sure there is a safe non toxic environmental friendly chemical agent that will do the trick. Anyone have the Countess on speed dial?

It is even more dangerous than people might imagine. The semi is articulated. It bends. If you rapidly decelerate the semi the Trailer WILL jack knife. Very few things can kill a driver crashing a semi slowly on freeway traffic. Jack knife the rig? You are screwed. So truckers are trained to maintain awareness and not lock up or decelerate swerve or act crazy. So yes the car in front becomes a crumple zone. If it is a kid on a bicycle the i would probably sacrifice the semi and sigh my safety. If it is some random crazy driver? I will stop as fast as i can without jackknifing (not that fast)

I use Handclap now on certain builds. It makes the SS tank set very tanky before footstomp. Get all armors taunt and handclap with a KD proc. You are now a Tank Bot

While breaking from endless story arcs on a Tank i have decided to 50 a squishy. Ice is a powerset i like. Not love but like. However it fits my needs and the story i have come ip with making it perfect unnecessary backstory: (i am from Everlasting) so the character was a research assistant at a big science company. He got drunk at the corporate Christmas party and kept bothering the CEO and chief scientist about the party needing more ice. The CEO is actually a Timelord and decided to do something. He took the research assistants brain out of his body and out it on top of a robot with power to ... create ice. When the assistant started bitching as soon as the process was done the CEO turned him into a Hero (complete with desires to be a hero and more force/time powers). so. Ice/Time with Force of Will and probably Ice power pools. This is a pure concept fun character. I bought him the skiff as a travel power because i did not want jetpacks messing with the robot costume i built. i will be slamming in i/o’s and going for a build goal of softcap ranged defense. I am down to a handful of Characters i run so i have A lot of enhancers in my base and can buy a few more nice sets my only questions are what sets should i be looking at regarding ranged defense I know how to research it for issue 22 Cox but not as fluent in modern building. I am taking no melee attack even for muling. This is a 100% ranged build also are there any Intricacies or oddities about time secondary or force of will? Someone said in game the 1st debuff power off force of will was bugged thanks

Yep. Again i am not great at this stuff. First badger. So i went to the community boards. Badges section. There is a post called winter badges there from like nov30 by Voltor. He said the badge exists. No one later in the thread corrected him that i saw anyways. Sooooo. I am going with It is not a thing. But it is another of my lifes minor irritations and why i normally just ignore content and Brute

As long as we are looking for deeper meanin... when someone is going 48 on a smooth clear freeway so i get my semi over to pass them. Why why why do they soeed up to 60 almost always. No really. Why ?
